@@lalife9443 Malaysia is a multiracial country. We have all kinds of races here including Malays, Chinese and Indians etc. Don’t mix up nationality and race. Malaysian is our nationality, Chinese, Malay, Indian is the race. Why do Malaysian celebrate Chinese New Year? Because there are Chinese in Malaysia too! Like how there are Chinese in every part of the world such as America, Australia etc. In short, our ancestors came from China and they settled down here in Malaysia hence we are called Malaysian(nationality)Chinese(race). We celebrate CNY because we are still Chinese and Chinese New Year is a part of our tradition and culture. It’s like how the Malays have their Hari Raya and the Indians have their Deepavali too.
My husband and children are Asian ( also part Chinese) and it would have been my youngest baby first CNY so sad nothing is the same anymore now, can’t even see most of my family for a long time.
I still remember my grandmother brought me to watch lion dance when I was a child. I always admire the lion's costume it so beautiful. I remember being shocked when the lion's eyes suddenly blinked because I wasn't expecting that!! It so wholesome! Happy Chinese New Year to those celebrating

I just came across this video and this spoke to me in many ways. As a fellow lion dancer, my team had to shut down in 2020 and hasn't started up again until quite recently. Watching this video brought about a lot of emotion and relatability. It was such a well put together story and pulled at my heart strings
The amount of gruelling trainings, hard work, teamwork and sacrifices to preserve the tradition, performers are faceless hero. We can’t take each performance for granted. Thank you for making this film.
when i was a kid..i love to watch this dance every CNY, and even watch the CNY song at television even i dont understand the language but i do sing that song, i also know some of chinese singers when it cames for the CNY song ...the tv 2 always my feveret chanel when it cmes for the celebration...i also love when their makes competition of this dance....i love malaysia the way we are....
I joined the lion dance academy since secondary school(although I'm just a musician, mostly playing drum and cymbals), brings back so much memories after watching this video.Missed those days we training during school holidays...rushed for many shows during CNY and much more...😭
This had me tearing up! Yes, I’ve often wondered about how much longer our Chinese traditions would last and what or how they can evolve. AMAZING video! TY TY TY for creating something so beautiful.
Thank you to the Jinnyboy TV team for showing Chinese culture in these tough years and new ways we can celebrate it. This is the best example "Adapt to your generation but do not forget culture". It will be a tough CNY for these Lion Dance associations this year, no income throughout 2020, and during the best season of the year, they are not able to perform for the society. Lets support each other and we will all get through this together. Happy CNY to all. #kitajagakita
Every time I show this video to my Music of Malaysia class, I do shed a tear or two. It is quite touching. There are also international students in my class, so your voice is getting out there.
The editing is superb, the colour grading brings tears to my eyes, the production quality is excellent and the actors are really convincing. I can feel the transformation of an age old tradition to current trends. Oh and I can see how tiny details are taken into account (Samsung Sero TV hahaha and Samsung phones all around the video), they're not obtrusive but it's nice to see how you guys incorporated Samsung products into your videos. It's nice to see how you guys started back in 2011 and we can see how Jinnyboy TV has improved through the years. Good job guys, all the best and happy CNY!!!!
All these years we have been witnessing Lion 🦁 & Dragon 🐉 dance But this year, there's also a Tiger 🐯 dance due to the year of the 🐯!! Let's see some New ads if there is ... But I doubt! 😒🙄🤗
Samsung is smart to feature all their products in one ad... Phones.... laptop and TV.... sleek moves unlike those hard selling commercials that we all knew.... Good Job
Great video, progress does not mean losing the tradition of our forefathers. Thank you for sharing. Kong Hey Fatt Choy ! Stay safe and healthy everyone 💝
Beautiful in so many ways. Culturally, technically, and topically. The idea of tradition versus modernization is SO heartfelt and so relevant. Kudos from a traditionally non-traditional OG.
Not many people would know the kind of sweat and blood a lion dancer has to go through or the bruises and broken bones that have to be suffered to be in top form in all the performances they put up. So if you're a lion dancer regards of whichever clan you serve, you have my respect. Happy Lunar New year to all!
I'm gonna miss celebrating Chinese New Year this year also. I cried while watching it and bring back the memories of Chinese New Year and hopefully that we can still be able to celebrate Chinese New Year with our love ones, good job on making the video JTV, Happy Chinese New Year.
Thank you Jinnyboy for such meaningful and good video again and again. I have been following Jinnyboy for almost 10 years and it is my first channel that I subscribe since I have youtube account. This video has brought up so much memories especially the scene when the boys were going to pack the stuff at the studio, it reminds me of the goood old times in my family business 'HQ', it is 20 yrs plus old shop, we grew up there, we played and gather for any festival at the same place on the pass 20+ years. Every chor 2, there will be lion dance performance in the 'HQ' and everyone is so happy & enjoyed the moment but good thing never last, this 'HQ' shut down few years ago. Seeing the packing scene also remind me of how the staff helping on packing the old stuff and rubbish to clean the 'HQ'. Later, this also lead to reduce of having so much fun and joy as the number of reunion lunch/dinner is totally become 0. Not to mention, this year is a special CNY, I celebrate this on KL which is away from my hometown, Ipoh and I know many people out there are the same as well. I thought I will be alright but this video has made me homesick and miss to those happy childhood This video is so so so touching, I shed tears every time I play this. Thank you Jinnyboy team for creating such meaningful video. Gnongxifacai ! will support your team till you retire liaww !

although we can't fully celebrate CNY this year, its okay. There's a plenty of way such as virtual CNY celebration just like this video.. It will not be the same but we do gather together virtually. Happy Chinese New Year!
