I'm so glad that I found you. Love the variety. Next batch of seeds I get will be through your links. As an FYI, I've found it very easy to make small donations through Buy me a Coffee. I do have a ? After you planted, you put on a green cover and weight. When you revealed it had an additional black tray. Did you need to water or why was that used. Do you ever pre soak. Thank You again and again.
Very nice, been watching ur grows. I also grow detroit dark red, and i find that at day 15 the stems would be thicker and the cotyledons a little bigger in size. So when u extend the growing time u get a little more weight, i get around 100g per tray for 35g of seed. All in all great grow, thanks for the videos.
Experienced the same, but the taste is considerably more bitter and earthy IMO. Also time is money and so is space. 5 more days is half a grow period for a more profitable crop in that space.
Great Job!!! Love your videos they’re like a master class. I encourage you to keep doing it. If you would, make a video about the business side of growing Microgreens for profit( marketing strategies, and legal aspect of the business such as permits, licensing, certification, insurance Etc)
100% agreed! Have some videos in the hopper being edited now, and then I’m currently waiting on a brand new wireless microphone. Once that comes in, I’ll get right in the business aspect of things!
Thank you so much for all the knowledge your sharing! I've learn a lot from you. Curious, what are you charging for beats per lb or flat? I just started doing this as a side business and I'm getting a lot of mixed info on this. I know the cost of seeds are huge factor as well as time.
Hi...what do you do with the growth medium after harvest?. Do you compost? Seems to like a good way to further utilize the soil. The roots and lower stems would add nutrients i imagine
I recently purchased the beet microgreen seeds from Trueleaf. The directions for those said to soak for 12 hours before planting. I checked numerous sources and no one mentioned soaking them beforehand. I also did an online chat with Trueleaf and the gal I chatted with said to maybe just soak for an hour or 2. Any thoughts on that would be welcomed.
Plants like a cycle of dry and wet in the root zone have you experimented with letting the roots get slightly dry before watering? May help yield as the extra oxygen in the roots will Encourage growth
Great video. Thanks for the information. Question: What temperature are you operating at? I get good germination, but I'm getting mold spots. I think it is my water, but I watched and you thoroughly soaked the tray.
If you want to do the soaking of the medium method so you don’t need to mist it everyday it requires a few things. First you want to make sure you don’t have any windows or hot sun beating down on the trays. Second, the ideal temperature of your grow space should be between 68-70 degrees. Finally, you need to keep that dehumidifier pumping and your humidity shouldn’t be any higher than 35-40%!
I get mold sometimes from the certain types of bagged soil if it doesnt have good drainage... also try to lower the temp/humidity in the room. I switched from a watering can to a pump sprayer and it seems like I can control the watering much better now and it doesnt knock the stems over as bad when they're getting tall. Also try using a little less seed. I think if the pan is planted too densely it's more mold prone. If I dont have my AC running it definitely gets too humid in there but if I leave the door open it really helps. i basically live in desert climate so I guess I've lucked out not needing a dehumidifier. Would be cool to use the water for irrigation though.
I love the flavor of these (beet, arugula & hint of rhubarb), and the vibrant color, but they are annoyingly fussy, small, delicate (prone to laydown), and low yeilding. I wish someone could breed a variety with a taller, thicker juicier stalk. If they could make mung bean sprouts (fast, easy, crunchy, juicy) with the same flavor and color as beet greens, i'd be in heaven.
I did this today and then realized I have no hose in my house, just a sprayer. Can you elaborate on your sprayer? Is it hooked to an outside hose? nvm I figured out you must have an inside faucet to attach to.
Amaranth is on the list! We will get there soon ☺️ Popcorn is in the works along with the construction of a blackout dome. Rainbow Swiss chard soon. Kolhrabi next week! Will also have more of the business side type of videos soon as well.
This video is really helpful! I'm trying to get set up to grow beet microgreens and I'm trying to figure out what I need to purchase. Can anyone clarify? Is the grower is using 3 trays here? It looks like the bottom tray is solid. The second tray with holes holds the coconut coir and seeds. Finally one more on top for the weight that is also solid.
Great video! Quick question, I´ve been trying to grow beet for a while, funny thing is I´ve mastered the most difficult part (I think) which is making it grow without the seed hulls. Problem I am having is that they are dying on the process after germinating. Can´t find the reason why and it is not mold. You got any suggestion?! Thanks a lot!
I'm currently having some issues with beets and I can't quite place my finger on it.. after germination and under light for about 2 or so days they just stay melting away and I can't figure out why. I've tried less water which has helped. And I'm also going to try less seed density too.. any suggestions. Maybe you've experienced this before
These videos are such a valuable resource for so many home growers! Check us out when you #Compostable clear containers to sell your greens! Our link is in the description 😉
Trueleaf. How fuxin convenient. I'm in Africa trying to start a microgreens business and it's hell. It's actual hell but I love it. I can't even find organic seeds. Our import fees are absolutely absurd and I'm kinda stuck man. I quit my job for this... Ugh
They added about another 4-5 days to their grow which is perfectly fine! You will get much more crop, at the expense of just a touch more electricity. Absolutely nothing wrong with that and I do that with beet a lot as well. Our videos are more proof of concept on how to work with microgreens and what to look out for, then adjusting little things like growtime for what works for you. I'm happy you're doing your research though, thats what will make you successful 😎
Great videos. I subbed because you talk slower than others. I like your calm nature and demeanor.
Thanks so much and good luck with your grows!
Thank you for all the information. This was a great resource for my micro green journey .
Good uniformity with the seeding
What kind of knife are you using to harvest? It is delightfully sharp and doesn’t crush the stems.
Thank you for making this very informative video. I believe I can do this! 😊

Would soaking help?
I'm assuming that once you cut down the batch, the roots will not grow a second batch?

ARE you able to rince out the soil the soil from the roots, and then eat the roots.

With sick a hard seed, would it help the germination process if the seeds were soaked before planting?
Certain sources recommend a 4 hour soak. Haven't tried yet myself, but i'm planning a soak when i do. Good luck.
Where did you purchase the knife and weight? What brands are they?
Is the water you use filtered ?

Do you turn on the air flow during germination? How often do you watered it during germination?
Wouldnt soaking the seeds cut down on germination time?
Does beet microgreens require micro climate to grow
What is that white paper you put in before the beets
Do we need to keep the circulation fan on 24/7 for microgreens??
What is seed hole tht u try to avoid ?

How do you cycle out your micro green root mats?
He's not using mats, he's using coco coir. it's single use.
Good step by step instructions. Thanks!
Hi mate where do u get the trays from

once micro greens are ready for the first days of light, how many hours of light do the get everyday? Thanks
Is there a reason you use true leaf vs Mumms?
Quick question where do you recommend for new growers on the west coast to buy seeds trays supplies. Thanks so much!! You have great content!!
Trueleaf is the best place to get started.

Just got Hearts on fire from true leaf. ever dabble with it?
Does anyone know where i can get that cool rectangle shovel*
what bulbs were used ?

Yes, you would need the 3 trays. you could use another item to just cover the medium to weigh it down but another try just fits best.
Can u use peet moss if you dont have coco coir?
Yes
When you introduce to light... what schedule do you use? 12/12 or just on all the time? Thanks, your videos are so helpful!

Is it possible to make beetroot flour and broccoli flour from microgreens?
Possible, yes.
Practical, no.
The amount of microgreens needed would be insanely high, just to get one cup.
Hello!
after you put the weight on the tray, water it twice a day, or do nothing for 5 days?
Do nothing.
You don’t need to water daily. That’s a common misconception that some youtubers do. It’s a waste of time and resources. 🥰
@@PrincetonMicrogreens thank you so much!!!
@@matevalko242 absolutely!
How much did you charge your customer for this ?
Do beets need more light than broccoli?
Nope!

I know everyone's experience is different but On The Grow use only 25g and get at least 128g yield so I am very confused
