    Could you tell more in depth about your lights program when you introduce the plants to light? How many hours on, how many off? 16 with 8, or?

      just stick em under the light and let em grow. i let them germinate for like 2 days, as soon as you see those elbows stick out like an inch, i throw them under the light 24/7 and they do just fine

    Why do you fill-up the jar to the top with water?
    I see some people growing peas without soil in mesh trays. What do you think of that?
    Thank you

    I am really looking forward to the business videos. the reason I subbed was that promise from your first video, but still learning something from the how to grow vids too. there are a million videos on YT about how to grow, but none on the business aspects of trying to start my business.

      I always try to splash a bit of business in with the tutorials, but I'll be coming out with some focused video's on the backend aspect of the business shortly as well!

      So many videos we want to make! This is definitely one that a few people have asked for and we will be prioritizing. We have a backlog of about 10+ videos that are complete, however waiting to be edited. We'll see if we can squeeze this one through faster 🥰

      @@nomargat77 We really are! We want to unload a ton of information to get the channel started. Overload uploads until we have around 20+ videos. Then slow it down a bit and maybe do 1-2 videos a week.
      Letting the channel sit with only 2-3 videos is killing us!!!! 😅

    One of the best videos I have seen. One minor thing, shouldn't your 112 g of weight be 113.4 g? 28.35 g = 1 oz 4x28.35 = 113.4.

    So glad you clarified at 5:15 to water enough to make it thru germination and blackout.
    I saw a video from On the Grow "experts" where they were pulling out the tray, lifting off the stone, misting, putting the stone back on and replacing the stone TWICE A DAY during germination. It was so chinge by the third day I had to stop the video ( th-cam.com/video/D3vnBEvYDZo/w-d-xo.html). The saga starts around 7:30.
    In all fairness, I do like some of their lighting experiments, etc.

    • @CamayCannon
      @CamayCannon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just totally failed using their weighted germination method. Because it required watering every day, my seeds stuck to the upper tray and just ruined the grow for me.

      No, microgreens don't regrow, need to start from scratch, but you can try and sell the used medium to the cattle farms or those who keep chicken as it can be used for compost or as chicken food. Hope it helps.

    After they are in the container do you have to refrigerate them until sold?

    • @PrincetonMicrogreens
      @PrincetonMicrogreens  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      100% yes!
      We actually have a dedicated refrigerator to store all our microgreens before they are transported to the market or home delivery's (usually the next day... sometimes same day). Most of our greens will stay good refrigerated for 2-3 weeks. We've been told they've stayed fresh for up to a month at times by our customers!

  • @ximenafernandezduran3132
    @ximenafernandezduran3132 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi! Don't you use fans during the growing cycle? I have a closed grow room and I think if I didn't turn fans on I wouldn't have air circulation and this could be a disaster (I don't have windows or any air coming from outside).

    • @PrincetonMicrogreens
      @PrincetonMicrogreens  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. We mention in a lot of our videos that we use fans, but normally only for the last few days.
      Really no need otherwise as long as your bottom water. They are just to keep the crops dry.
      A dehumidifier is more important than fans for the first 7-8 days. We do have a log of natural air circulation in our grow space though so maybe we are more fortunate.
