I tried growing and eating cantaloupe microgreens a few years ago, and they tasted so loudly bitter and caustic I never grew them again. I do really like sunflower microgreens, though, grown from the organic sunflower seeds in the bird feed aisle 🙂
Please make a follow up for this showing examples of what we should not grow and eat. There's alot of leaves etc that should not be eaten. Great points as ALWAYS.... Love your mind and approach to thing's and life 😁
@@KeepOnGrowinexactly Mike, Google is your friend in many cases. Loads of info in books about poisonous leaves and micro greens. Anything in the nightshade family like potatoes eggplant tomatoes or peppers . Do Not eat any of those micro greens people .
I will go buy an organic cantaloupe this week and try my brand new kit. I'm thinking these would taste good in a salad with my lo cal poppyseed dressing
I was thinking after watching this ❤ I could harvast a lot of Dandelion seeds soon on my property so I know they are totally natural AND I could grow Dandelion microgreens this winter......... what do you think FREE SEED
Our food pantry lines continue to grow, and people complain about not getting enough food from the food pantry. Growing microgreens is a great way to supplement our diets. People think I am a nut, but I even save seeds to sprout and grow microgeens from the weeds I forage. By the way, your methods have taught me how to be more efficient at growing those microgreens. I love your channel!
Man you re a legend... was just starting with gardening and was wondering which microgreen could i use to grow thats not expensive in seeds... didnt even know you can eat cantaloupe microgreens, thought they ll be poisones... well lucky me iam a chef and i work every damn day with cantaloupes... i ll save a lot of seeds from tomorrow xD
Well, now youve done it! We've been giving all such seeds to the vermicomposting worms and joking about what good little farmers they are as the sprouts pop up! We pulled up a bunch of butternut seedlings when we worked in the bins today. Hate to deprive the hard working little critters, but if we can benefit from them.... what a dilemma! 😂
I'm not sure I'll be growing canteloupe greens any time soon, but I have to thank you again for inspiring me to use my excess saved seeds from lettuce, brassicas, and beets to create some lovely micro and mini greens. Cheers!
O.M.G.!!!! 😃 I've been growing microgreens for a few years now and had NO idea. THANK YOU for this video! We grew a TON of cantaloupes and watermelon last year, I saved ALL the seeds and now I know what to do with them! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'll put a hold on my mung and lentil beans... Radish is real cheap and spicy. Broccoli is not too bad on price either. Buy in bulk, like 1 lb bags.
I have had good luck with canteloupe, tastes like cucumber.
