AAA dev here (Ubisoft) - I'm shocked Minecraft doesn't already support deferred rendering! It's nothing fancy, nor is it anything new, in fact most if not all games you play use deferred rendering. All it means is that the lighting and shading calculations are ~deferred~ to a post-procesding step when rendering a frame. The reason it looks so good though is because the lighting calculations are able to be done on less pixels overall since post processing isn't affected by overdrawn. That means more advanced and expensive lighting calculations can be done in the same amount of time, leading to prettier frames :)

Is it just me, or does it feel almost dystopian the way Mojang has handled Minecraft? Mainly bedrock, it all just feels like something out of Cyberpunk. I think it should be alarming that some people including me feel more anxiety rather than excitement at what Mojang has to offer.
Lol no, it's a stupid blocky game that had stupid decisions from its creator. It's not that deep to use words like dystopian or cyberpunk. It is just a world of corporation
To be completely honest, even when you point out the differences, it still looks the same. The only difference I see is less saturated leaves & the sheep no longer have any shading.
10:33 I remember back when I was little I'd get this cracked Minecraft Pocket Eddition from the playstore (yes, the official google play store) and found "shaders" for it... and it looked like that but a bit clearer (and it flickered and glitched way more cause my phone wasn't built for that kind of processing, nor was the bootleg)... Now it seems I'll get to play bedrock edition with shaders _legally!_
I used to use that too i got mods, like the portal gun mod, that worked on multiplayer with my brothers vanilla version, but for him I'm teleporting and for me I see the graphics and stuff idk.
I feel really old rn... I remember when WorldEdit (usually a plugin) had an executable application, which was very similar to *new* Minecraft Editor Mode, maybe with a bit less features. But it was discontinued somewhat around 2015 as far as I recall. Edit: Found the executable on my pc. Last time changed in 2018. Called "mcedit2.exe". So, not an WorldEdit exe, but smth w/ same functions.
I don't remember WE having a standalone executable, but MCEdit did exist at the time and died off around then. There are still world editing tools out there though, like Amulet and MCA Selector, and others, that can modify worlds in the ways MCEdit was able to. MCA Selector is particularly useful for its ability to export and import chunks, and offset those chunks, allowing for the import of entire worlds into the some ungenerated area of another existing world.
Honestly, I think it's wonderful that a lot of these are bedrock exclusive. As a java user, we have mods recreating or being the direct inspiration for any/all of what Mojang is adding to bedrock. Good on them that they're catching up!
I think this maybe a simple Biome or Ambience Update overall. The emojis hint to it. Maybe we will finally finish the Mild...I mean the Wild Update with the Birch Forest and Firefly. Also interesting how they posted that image of a tree a while back.
It's encouraging to hear they're working hard on parity with Java, with overdue attention to jungles, but I'm disappointed that it's merely the stuff *on* the the terrain that they're tweaking, and not the terrain itself. As a Java to Bedrock player, the spectacle of "M" biomes is sorely missed, and after several years regretfully filling 3/4 scale maps in Bedrock, I can honestly say that the topography of post Caves & Cliffs Bedrock is, frustratingly, a let down. What's gone are landscapes that create a conspicuous focal point, a "wow" structure that makes you want to build in view of it. Nothing never turns out as cool as Jungle Hills and Savanna Extreme Hills. I hope now that optimization and hardware floors on Bedrock devices have risen, so too may the precipices and overhangs in the topography it generates. Bring back eccentricity. *Make terrain great again.* -MTGA- MATGA? MATGA™

I like Minecraft with that Borderlands-y touch. Notably MC Legends did this too lol. I just want my outlines in bedrock, man
The editor mode looks great. Will be useful for things like landscaping and huge creative projects (structure blocks are pretty useful, but have limitations in scope).
Every good editor needs at least one niche tool or preset that no one would ever use except as a joke, like Blender's monkey head or GIMP's pepper brush
I feel like the editor was a long time coming, like, a really long time coming. I wonder how the OG minecraft players would’ve reacted to this if it was released during their time
My bet is on a new "Realistic Survival" mode, with more survival-esk game mechanics like thirst and heat, as well as with seasons enabled to force players to prepare for extreme seasonal changes and potentially new weather mechanics that could grief the world intentionally, like a Better Than Wolves type mode.
If that happens, I will learn how to do a handstand because that is extremely unlikely. That's so different from anything Minecraft has ever done and everything it's meant to be that it would make no sense to add that over something else.
*The leaves kinda seems like they're experimenting with seasons... and we had leaks that kinda match this idea too* They made one color for every single leave and it's quite similar to leaves during winter irl. Don't get me wrong, I dont think we're getting straight up seasons like irl, I dont really want that in Minecraft but it seems that they're experimenting all leaves having the same colour depending on.. well we dont know what yet, but it really does feel that their experiment got pushed too early by accident and they are in fact working on season related stuff They definetely didn't plan to release it in preview now, it was an accident and thats why it's so buggy and bad looking imo

I think they are adding the capability to make mossy versions of more stone types, in the vein of cobblestone.(no pun intended) :)
Been wanting proper shadows for a long time, looks great!
Is it just me, or does it feel almost dystopian the way Mojang has handled Minecraft? Mainly bedrock, it all just feels like something out of Cyberpunk.
I think it should be alarming that some people including me feel more anxiety rather than excitement at what Mojang has to offer.
i’m pretty excited
Lol no, it's a stupid blocky game that had stupid decisions from its creator. It's not that deep to use words like dystopian or cyberpunk.
It is just a world of corporation
To be completely honest, even when you point out the differences, it still looks the same. The only difference I see is less saturated leaves & the sheep no longer have any shading.
Minecraft hardcore players are gonna use this to make videos like I JuSt LOst mY 5 YEar OlD HaRDcoRE WOrlD 💀🙏
10:33 I remember back when I was little I'd get this cracked Minecraft Pocket Eddition from the playstore (yes, the official google play store) and found "shaders" for it... and it looked like that but a bit clearer (and it flickered and glitched way more cause my phone wasn't built for that kind of processing, nor was the bootleg)... Now it seems I'll get to play bedrock edition with shaders _legally!_
I used to use that too i got mods, like the portal gun mod, that worked on multiplayer with my brothers vanilla version, but for him I'm teleporting and for me I see the graphics and stuff idk.
4:54 I really liked the before for the flowers but I think I understand what they’re going for
I feel really old rn...
@@ChortleChortleedited my comment, found the executable. Not WorldEdit, but MCEdit.
They ruined the meadows!!
Honestly, I think it's wonderful that a lot of these are bedrock exclusive. As a java user, we have mods recreating or being the direct inspiration for any/all of what Mojang is adding to bedrock. Good on them that they're catching up!
I hope they somehow make editor mode come to console
MATGA™
FINALLY someone is noticing the mobs glowing. I've been noticing this for so long and when I look it up I never get results for it. I saw it in your video, and for the first time, someone or you in this case FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED IT!! I KNEW I WASNT CRAZY!! THE MOBS AREN'T FOLLOWING THE SAME SHADERS AS THE BLOCKS AND DON'T HAVE THE SHADOWS!!
yea me too
Villager 1: Its raining so much!
Villager 2: No, its just a floating farm in the sky
So making the flower Forrest biome into a flower puddle
im hoping that Deferred Redering will essentially allow people to make shader packs for bedrock. Ever since i switched to bedrock i miss having the option to add outlines to everything. I like Minecraft with that Borderlands-y touch. Notably MC Legends did this too lol. I just want my outlines in bedrock, man
As someone from NZ (and therefor am in the future by 1 day) its an end update finally 🥳
The editor mode looks great. Will be useful for things like landscaping and huge creative projects (structure blocks are pretty useful, but have limitations in scope).
That acacia leaf block in the inventory looks like a block of mushed peas. Also that sheep is definitely brighter than usual.
When I heard "parity”:
What I thought I would get: custom superflats
What I got: slightly different flowers
You see, irl sheep have emmisive rendering and they just wanted to make that a thing ingame too for realism.
Every good editor needs at least one niche tool or preset that no one would ever use except as a joke, like Blender's monkey head or GIMP's pepper brush
don't worry about the leaves color, it's a thing in preview, it won't make it to release.
funny enough, I played the switch version a lot (until it got unplayable) but on my copy of mc, every animal glows and I have no idea why
Bedrock shader pack? I think they released it as a free download. Maybe yours downloaded it?
I actually really like the cooler green acacia leaves. It creates some nice contrast against the warm, dry grass.
I actually really like the new color of the leaves for the Badlands biome
They’re adding the good lands I’m calling it (the badlands but the complete opposite. Flower forests but more flowery and more gardeny)
13:07 Speedrunners rejoice, pause buffering in Minecraft is finally a thing.
That's so different from anything Minecraft has ever done and everything it's meant to be that it would make no sense to add that over something else.
this sounds like a "minecraft in 2025" prediction from 2016
This is absolutely never happening
@@vicentearnabal "MINECRAFT 2 IS COMING IN 2025!!!!! 🤯🤯"
I love that Bedrock Edition now has built-in TAS.
the frame by frame trick also works in Java if you go into the stat menu and out
*The leaves kinda seems like they're experimenting with seasons... and we had leaks that kinda match this idea too* They made one color for every single leave and it's quite similar to leaves during winter irl. Don't get me wrong, I dont think we're getting straight up seasons like irl, I dont really want that in Minecraft but it seems that they're experimenting all leaves having the same colour depending on.. well we dont know what yet, but it really does feel that their experiment got pushed too early by accident and they are in fact working on season related stuff
They definetely didn't plan to release it in preview now, it was an accident and thats why it's so buggy and bad looking imo
They flipped the color map by accident which caused them to be the same color
the deferred rendering reminds me specifically of the shaders dantdm used when he was doing that 'player skin houses' series- if he even did use shaders actually, i havent watched that era in about a decade now. just hits the nostalgia ig, idk
Minecraft stoned Stones when? (Tuff stuff)
Toycat discovers that Fancy Graphics Off changes the shading of mobs and other blocks (Its literally gone in his options menu wtf)
i want these challanges in the infinant snapshot. but what worlds are "overworlds" and what ones are "ends" and what ones are "nethers"
Now while yea actions and stuff is really expensive i think its absolutely worth it even if its just to see sheep eat or carry a bucket of axolotl, just the improvements to movement makes it look so so nice and more lively
I could have sworn I just saw a video with the title akin to: “Why Mojang Won’t Change Everything in Minecraft.”
that glowing glitch has really got toycat flustered....lol
9:39 I’ve been begging for this since I figured out that there was a Ray tracing settings on bedrock. But since I was on console I couldn’t use it at all
when axiom won't be added to bedrock so minecraft just yoinks the entire mod for bedrock:
if after that update i go onto minecraft and my jungle leaves look like that some bad things are gonna happen
one of the biggest downgrades ive ever seen
It is not a downgrade. It's a bug
I play java but I'm happy my bedrocker counterparts are finally getting the recognition they deserve
I've played both, i agree with you
4:36 every entity is glowing because you have fancy graphics off....
The sheep are glowing because you have Fancy Graphics turned off, one of the things it does is it removes Entity Shading
Can't believe the dude who makes geography content also makes Minecraft videos
If it weren't for Axiom existing, it would irk so much more to not have editor mode for Java
Pausing the game will feel so weird to me after spending my entire life pausing and watching the world continue behind the menu
