    I love the simplicity of your videos: no talking, no music, no time wasted, no distractions. Just pure art, just the way it should be.❤️

    I respect people whose hands grow from where they need to, and if there is still a fantasy and a sense of taste - it's art. Half a day watching your video and do not regret the time spent. Greetings from Ryazan. Russia.

    You sir are the Bob Ross of the wood lathe. Like Bob your magic ceases to amaze me. I watch your videos like I do Bobs and I think to myself “what the what are you doing”and in the end you have this beautiful masterpiece. I hope you keep intriguing my imagination just as Bob does with his paintings. God bless you sir

    There is so much to like about this piece, Andy. Sometimes, though, it's the little things. I'm so glad you left the opening natural. The overall look is amazing, great job!

    This video shows one of the things I *love* about woodturning. Take an oddball lump of wood, mount it on the lathe, and simply turn it on. The viewer can practially see the "vase" magically appear visible in the spinning wood and then the turner just has to trim down to it. So beautiful!

    That is crazy 🤪 how big that side was. Thank you for doing this video. I have a burl from a box elder and was freaked out how much wobble there was. I am going to use the 5 color liquid wood dye kit and some Mica in resin for mine, but just seeing the wobble from a dry run was worrisome. Now I seen someone else did it I can do it too 👍 Owe you one my friend! You Rock! 😁

    That is beautiful! Not much of a green person myself - I prefer blue - but my son would totally love that. Green is his favorite color. I should try that sometime and make him a pen/pencil holder. That would be most useful for him since he is always drawing something. :P Thanks for sharing. Some of those drilling sounds were really amusing/satisfying to listen to. *chuckle* - Heidi

    As I watch you work for the seemingly 100th time, the massage therapist in me is hoping that you are taking time to give back to your hands and arms on a regular basis. The nature of your profession can wreak havoc on your upper body... so please take care of yourself and get regular massages, Andy! 😁😁😁

      I do this kind of work and have developed a really bad case of “tennis elbow”. I have tried ice and Ibuprofen but to no avail. Do you have any tips? BTW, I live way off the beaten path in Africa, so regular massage therapy is not an option.

    Lovely piece, Andy, bringing out the best of a gnarly chunk of wood. But, I have to echo Michael Zurcher's comment that it would have been even better hollowed. I know you can do it, my friend -- show us the good stuff :-) Clyde

    • @AndyPhillipWoodturning
      @AndyPhillipWoodturning  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Clyde .. Michael asked why I never hollow vases ..that's got to be fake news LOL ..It did make me laugh (slightly) as I spent 2 hours this morning hollowing a vase for the next video ..I must say though hollowing a burl filled with resin doesn't fill me with joy .. or am I just a chicken ... cheers Andy

    • @clydeulmer4484
      @clydeulmer4484 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cluck cluck cluck :-D Seriously, the 6mm carbide hollowing tools make that a much more pleasant experience. In Great Britain, Simon Hope for example. I'll tackle anything with my Trent Bosch rig -- which is not to say I haven't been bruised and bloodied in the attempt a time or too :-) Clyde
