    Since I was a boy, I used to loved flowers and gardening, but never really grew anything. Now with this pandemic thing I started it as a hobby and learning a lot from reading and watching videos like yours. Sometimes I get very frustrated when I see that something is going wrong, but then I hear words like yours and it helps me to be more patient and start loving it again. Thanks for your videos and making us have passion for it. Greetings from Mexico City! ☺️

    Your humor is great in this time of stress in the world! Keep on being you!
    I plan on being right there with you in landscape fabric-ing the whole place next year!! EEKKSS!!! The grass and weeds are going bonkers!!! It's pretty depressing, but I do have lots of flowers too!
    YAY for the lizzies!! I hope they bloom like crazy!! I buy mine locally (Lancaster County, PA) as plugs for 48 for less than $15 with choice of varieties/colors. Yes, I am quite thankful! I don't have a grow light set up, so growing Lizzies is a no go for me. Can't wait to see yours blooming!
    Your glads will be amazing!! I didn't have room to put mine in earlier in the season, so I planted 400+ a week or two ago in one day. It might be crazy.....but I didn't want to lose the corms, so ya gotta do what ya gotta do!
    Thanks for another super video! Love how you share how real this flower farming experience is. It's not all roses for us growers....but LOVE IT anyhow!

    So excited to see your lisianthus! I only ended up with 5 plants starting from seed and they too are just budding up to bloom. Can't wait to see what they look like. They are so slow to mature, hope the work and wait was worth it. What size organza bags do you recommend for the dahlias? Also, don't be discouraged by the weeds, as long as you get flowers, who cares! One of the things I love about your channel is that you film "real life"! Keep up the great work and thanks again for a fun video.

    I grew procut sunflowers last year. I learned after I cut them, they branched and grew smaller sunflowers on the brached out stem. They ended up developing seeds to harvest on. I am guessing this is how they get seeds because the initial flower head is pollinless and do not develop actual seeds. I saved quite a bit of seeds at the end of the season and will be planting them out this upcoming garden season. I will be doing a video trialing these seeds. Praying they grow/ perform like the mother procut flower 🤞❤🙏

    I had great success with Lisianthus misting twice a day. I also experimented with germinating them in my aerogarden and they sprouted in 3(not a typo) days!!!! Also, my zinnias act like divas throwing a tantrum in the heat too, acting like they can't even stand up straight. But they always perk back up. Please keep it up with the Business information! I'm starting mine up next year, moving to a larger property next month. Told my current neighborhood of 380+ houses I was starting a flower farm and I got over a hundred emails asking about it and now I am hiding under my bed pretending I don't exist because I thought I would have to struggle to find even ten customers and planned on next year being about getting a firm foundation for the business. Anything and everything you share is helpful!

    1k subscribers You Go Girl! You've inspired me. I finally got up the nerve to stop in local florist to ask if they would be interested in local flowers. They said YES! Sunflowers are in huge demand. On another note, I have a slightly different variety of Frosted Explosion grass growing in my garden (free - I did not plant); the florist loved it. Panicum Philadelphicum (positively identified by my local botanist). I believe the Frosted Explosion grass sold by Floret / Johnnys Seeds is Panicum Elegans. Quick question which netting do you use for zinnias? I see Johnnys has different sizes of Hortonova FA 36", 42" 38"...etc

    So I could be wrong about this, but with our farm, when we planted glads they grow by "season time". Like the different varieties will tell you "early", "mid", or "late" season so by that logic if you planted early season glads last they could still mature and bloom before the mid- late season glads. We were also very confused our first year growing them LOL

    • @FlowerHillFarm
      @FlowerHillFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point! I've never succession planted them before and they were all a "mix" so I don't know specific varieties to look them up! Next year I'll be buying specific colors to color block them in the fields. 🥰💐

    Succession planting by staggering never works out for me. I grow veggies though, so there are some differences. @@sarahalruna2686 Hi! I have found with dahlias that if you use hot tap water (not boiling) it works really well. We harvest into that water, then let cool to room temp. and from there you came put them in a cooler and such. We tend to average about 5-6 days on our vase life.

    What does CSA stand for?

    • @FlowerHillFarm
      @FlowerHillFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Community Supported Agriculture. Customers basically buy a subscription to the flowers in advance. Each member gets 5 bouquets over the season. It's most common with a Vegetable CSA. It is a way for farmers to raise funds to pay for farming in the beginning of the season.
