    Thank you so much. I tried to buy new tyres for my Jamis bike today in Kyoto, where I bought the bike, and the staff were like, computer says no, despite having a load of tyres in there. After watching your video I looked at my tyres and found the ISO number, 23c 622. I shall go back tomorrow fully informed and find the right tyres myself, for my trip to Hokkaido next week. Much appreciated.

    That was so informative. Its such a confusing area. Would be good if you had a bit more on the intro to expain what the numbers reflect.

      Thanks for the feedback! Glad you found it helpful. 😄 On tires, the important numbers (the ISO) are notated in a format like "XX - XXX", where the first number is the width and the second is the diameter of the tire in millimeters. These are much more useful numbers to use compared to, for example, saying you have a 26x1.4 tire, since the ISO number is usually the determining factor of whether it can fit on your rim. Hope that helps!

    Another excellent video! 👍
    Re: the solid tires 1) how does weight compare to typical tube+tire? 2) is ride noticeably rougher? (no air, no cushion)
    Thanks again for your effort on these excellent videos! 🙂

      Thanks a bunch! The solid tires are ever so slightly lighter than a comparable-size tube/tire combo, and they're only slightly less of a smooth ride. We've had customers test them out in our parking lot and not notice a difference at all, and some customers who do notice a slight difference. With the solid tires you do lose a tiny bit of efficiency (~3%) that's only really noticeable on long rides. Thanks for your questions, glad the video was helpful!

    How do i measure it with outnumbers in tires? Please help

    • @cycletogo
      @cycletogo  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can measure a tire's ISO size by taking the diameter in mm between the inner edges of the tire (the bead), and the width at the widest point of the tire. ISO is generally written in this format: 12 - 345 (width - diameter). Any tape measure with metric units will get you where you need to go, or you can convert inches to millimeters if you need to. Hope this helps!

    Kevlar (foldable)v metal/steel bead on tires?

      @cycletogo  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Folding bead tires are both slightly lighter-weight and smaller to carry around, and they're more common on tubeless setups. Folding bead tires are also generally softer and have slightly better traction while wire bead tires are made of harder rubber that lasts longer. Just depends on the type of riding you do and what your needs are!

    I have a monteague 2019 CrossTown bike and want to know the size of the inner tube. How can I find out the size.

    • @cycletogo

      You can find the size by looking for the ISO number on the side of your tire. It's generally in this format: 12x345. Hope that helps!
