I actually liked Kilmer as Bruce/Batman. He reminded me of Kevin Conroy's Batman from the animated series and he portrayed a more tragic Bruce/Batman suffering from PTSD and haunted by his parent's deaths. Val was better than George Clooney.

Val had the look and mannerisms but that script is atrocious. Him yelling "I'm batman!" Is ridiculous. As if that would've solved anything . Somehow Chase didn't hear him, but he thought 2 face would? And then nobody found it odd seeing Bruce Wayne doing kung fu against 2 faces thugs...😅.

I think it's to do with the feelings of guilt he carries with him regarding the role he feels he played in his parent's deaths. They come to fully surface after he feels responsible for the Graysons' deaths. He feels a need to be punished, to own up to his guilt, coupled with the guilt he feels for being unable to help/save Harvey, who blames Batman for his unfortunate state.

What i loved about this scene was you see Bruce Wayne sitting in the audience as a smiling billionaire playboy and his mood completely turns serious as soon as he hears Two-Face's voice, it was almost like he transformed into Batman without actually putting on the costume and then seeing him swing from the rope and taking down the thugs in full on crime fighting mode was pretty badass.

Not saying batman should kill all his enemies just kill like the joker and Harry Quinn at least and most of his problems would be solved. A lot of innocent life's would be spared if he did batman other enemies aren't as evil as the joker.

There’s a real underrated moment in all of Batman films here. When Two-Face reveals that he’ll stop his madness unless Batman reveals himself. Bruce quickly sits up and says he’s Batman in front of his love interest and even in front of the goddamn police commissioner. But Bruce is drowned out by the screams of the crowd and Harvey is unable to hear him. Such a great moment.

@@bobbyestep3916 Although Batman Forever was lighter. It was still a very dark movie and it had it's dark moments. Dick Grayson losing his family. Dick's dark desire to avenge his family. Bruce's PTSD. Bruce forced to relieve the death of his parents and what led him to becoming Batman when he tells Chase the truth. Edward Nygma's loneliness and succumbing to madness when Bruce Wayne rejects him and his invention The Box driving him to become The Riddler. I like how the movie balanced the drama and the comedy. Some scenes should have been kept in. Particularly when Bruce goes deeper into the now destroyed Batcave and again coming face to face with the giant bat that inspired him to become Batman. Tommy Lee Jones' Two-Face was over-the-top because I believe Harvey Dent became like The Joker, the very criminal Dent and Batman fought against in Gotham City. In the comics Dick Grayson was a pre-teen when his parents were killed, much like Bruce, and started his career as Robin soon after. Here Dick's age is left vague but implied he is or at least approaching college age. Batman: The Animated Series (1992) did something similar, except making him the same age as when his parents were killed but a college aged adult in the present stories (which, by that time, he had taken up the name Nightwing.)

I hate/love this movie too XP On paper, it has more substance than '89 and Returns (I still love them, tho): it's the story of Batman facing a genius who is smart enough to find out his identity and enter the Batcave, Bruce having to face off against an old ally turned evil, finding love with a psychiatrist and looking back at his past and what Batman means to him, and adopts an orphan that he doesn't really want to become a vigilante and commit the same mistakes he made.
...And all of this conceptual gold is dumbed down to the extreme and executed like a Spy Kids movie XP Not to mention even deleting the great scenes that would've made the film better. It's almost as if the studio went "No, stop, that's too SMART, cut that out and put a scene with Dick doing stupid ninja moves with the laundry instead!"
I wish I could just turn my brains off and enjoy an admittedly fun superhero flick with '90s cheese, but I'm really annoyed by films that waste potential.

When dick's family members were killed i felt so terrible for him that was so brutal and horrifying to try and save them from a bomb attack knowing that it was already too late smh.Maybe they rest in peace.

O'Donnell was a Great Robin/Dick Grayson. I had no issue with him being 17 or 18ish. My issue was Kilmer was to you to compare O'Donnell. Had Keaton stayed, Keaton and O'Donnell were farther apart in age and it would have worked so much better. And for this movie, Bruce did not adopt Dick, he gave him a place to stay until the got things taken care of. Funny how people are complaint that O'Donnell is to old, and Robin should have been 10 to 15. Burt Ward did not look as young as he was suppose to be. I always took him for being about 18. I believe it was mentioned Dick was 15 in season 1.

I’m pretty positive that Dick was actually 9 years old in the comics when he lost his parents. I think having them as a child would’ve been better because he would’ve been traumatized but at the same time he would’ve gotten closure on his parents death whereas Bruce never did.

Nah, TLJ was just trying to upstage Carrey. Which is sad cause I bet he would have been a cool two face (even though Harvey Dent/Two Face was played by Billy Dee Williams in the first two movies).
