    Try Monarch for 30 days free here: bit.ly/48nhg8L

      It says the code is no longer valid. Doesn't encourage me to try them if they can't give me more than 7 days to evaluate...

      This took me to the Monarch site with a poster mentioning the 30 day trial. But, when I signed up, it would only process my membership as a 7 day trial. Do you have a different discount link? Thanks!

      @@BrittanyFlammer Ah it says 30 days after I click the link and then it changes to 7 days on the following page. Nevermind, I will just try for 7 days. Thanks for the quick reply Brittany!

    I really appreciate how honest this review was. For me, the biggest thing is a simple UI.

    If you have a Walmart+ account, they are offering 6 months free right now. That’s why I’m watching this video, thanks for the info.

    Thank you for such a helpful review! I'm running into a problem where my income for the month comes into my bank on the last day or second to last day of the previous month. So when I click on a monthly view, it looks like I don't have any income for that month (until the last day). Is there any workaround for this in Monarch? I clicked on this video because I watched another of your videos that recommended Monarch for people with inconsistent income.

    • @BrittanyFlammer
      @BrittanyFlammer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That makes complete sense. You can edit transaction dates so they will reappear in the following month. For example...if you got paid Feb 28, but you want the income to count for March, you could open up the transaction and change the date to March 1 - then it would appear as March income.
      The downfall of this is that you'd have to manually do that every month - I don't know of a way to automate.
      You could also as Monarch directly if they have a better solution. When you're logged in go to >Help and Support >Contact Support > then click 'get help from a human'. This will allow you to message them directly.

    Appreciate the review. Like many I am a Mint user looking for a new option. But... I mainly need it for categorizing transactions and giving me "accurate" breakdowns for the end of the year when I do my expenses sheet for taxes. Would you recommend Monarch or another app or website?

    • @BrittanyFlammer
      @BrittanyFlammer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pretty much all of them let you export your transactions to a CSV file. IT's not perfect, but they'll give you all the basic info for each transaction (date, amount, category, etc...) and then you can tweak it to what you want for tax purposes.
      Simplifi and Monarch are probably the best for visually looking at your spending at the end of the year.

    Thanks for the video! I'm in the process of switching from Mint. Any help on figuring out available balance in a checking account? I'm adding pending charges but it doesn't change my account balance.

      Hmm…I’m wondering if pending charges aren’t included? I’ve never looked into this.

    Does Monarch or any other budgeting app allow you to budget just for your 2 week pay period instead of a month?

    • @BrittanyFlammer
      @BrittanyFlammer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of the apps are set up for a monthly budget. EveryDollar premium has a paycheck planner feature that helps you visualize when the money comes in/out. If you want to see what that looks like you can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/Dqma5HKncKQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LzMPGzxBhez8q6k4
      Every Two is an app that will let you specifically budget for your two week pay period, but it has some shortcomings.

    • @civichook7515
      @civichook7515 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! I’m using Simplifi right now. My first budget app. The issue I’m running into is it says I have x amount of money left to spend, but in reality I don’t because my paycheck towards there end of the month covers some of the bills at the beginning of the next month, so I’m not sure how to balance/handle that. I like to know exactly what I have and how much I’ll have later. I also am using an excel spreadsheet to track bi weekly.

    • @BrittanyFlammer
      @BrittanyFlammer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@civichook7515 Yes - this is an issue with a lot of budgeting apps. There are several options for handling this:
      1. Having a buffer in the checking account (ideally 1 paycheck's worth) so you don't have to worry about the dates of your pay.
      2. Re-assigning the due dates of your bills. For example...half your mortgage/rent come out after your 1st paycheck, then have utilities/other bills come out after your 2nd paycheck.
      Unfortunately, I don't see a good way to handle this with Simplifi.
