In Romania we do not add onion and egg whites, but bone broth in our mici. And thyme, allspice, coriander too.

My mother in law from Croatia makes these also. Also known as Cevapcici in Croatian as well. I think the only difference may be she uses Vegeta instead of table salt.

Wow, this hit me hard in the heart! Two separate friends (their parents) used to make these all the time! They were from the old country (one from Serbia, one from Croatia) and wow, they tasted so good! The parents have since passed and its been years since we had them and still crave them! Unfortunately, our friends don't cook, just eat😂, and Ive asked for any of the parents recipes left behind to cook for them. I wanted to serve them meals in honor of their sweet parents. Of course, no recipes left behind😢 i just found your channel maybe 5 minutes ago and I could cry I am so happy! My husband and our friends will be ecstatic to enjoy your recipe! I know this is very wordy😂, but the joy you brought by sharing your recipe goes deep❤ for several of us ! We are going to enjoy these so much and share memories of their parents. Thank you so much😊 Your other recipes look amazing, too, so glad i found you today🎉

I can't wait to try these. I've never had them. But it made me think of shish kabobs my slovak daddy made. I don't know how to spell it but he used chunks of beef and pork that he seasoned with a lot of sweet paprika among other spices. Phonetically it was zsavanska. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd love to recreate it but sadly no one in the family has the recipe.

YES YOU CAN mix whatever you want. traditionally some people make it with lamb pork and beef mix. that is traditional way. people that dont eat pork would make it without pork. but myself i am going to mix today pork and turkey. i am sure it will be great. Turkey is lean pork is fatty , perfect combo.

@@SlovenianKitchenbyMichelle Hello. Actually i used meat from sheep, not from ram.. i have done 2 mix - first one was - beef, pork and sheep and second was beef and sheep - but if i have to been honest i dont remember proportions, maybe it was 20/40/40 (sheep/pork/beef) something like that i remember only that sheep meat was about 20-30% of the whole mixture. Both of them was good and delicious but was little dry, maybe next time i will add some slanina (i dont know word in english, but i think you will understand me).
