Great video. I think that will be a lovely drink. The beer kits today are so much better than the ones I started with in the 1970s

In fact some of the beer kits I have made have been just as good as all grain and part grain brews. I think the malt extract is fresher now and the yeasts have improved so much over the years

Not done any grain brewing myself, but am more than happy with the kits so far..

Nice one, I think you're on your own with this one though, not really my bag, but saying that I'm already starting to dither!
Keep 'em coming Big Fella :-)

after watching your video yesterday I swung by wilko and bought the same stuff as you, I just threw away the kit yeast and added a sachet of the gervin yeast instead.
hope yours turns out good!! I haven't done this kit in about 4 years so here's hoping it's as good as I can remember it!! :)

I read somewhere that the sweet newkie brown kit is a re branded muntons Midland mild kit, and I know that muntons also make the Geordie kits, that includes a mild. I wonder if they are all the same. I would love to know, then you could just get the cheapest one. Most of the beer kits that I have done take a minimum of 2 weeks to stop fermenting.

I have tried the Geordie winter warmer and that was nothing like this one but as for the muntons one I don't know to be honest, thanks for the info :)

I need to make some to compare with my Northumbrian Ale. Is it far off from Newcastle Brown? because the Nothumberland is quite different. Sweeter and did not carbonate with sugar. Even though the bottles swelled the gas didn’t go into the brew. But a great “still” Ale.

I think the sweet in the title is pritty meaning less, as it's not sweet at all. As for being the same as Newkie Brown, it is but milder, a two can kit might bump up the flavour and be spot on the same, but I don't know as I was going to do this as a two can but they only had one when I brought it..

It was but they only had one in stock so thought it was better than nothing..
