    Good review. The Kapara is my favorite knife in most ways. You definitely do have to be careful not to drop it due to the smooth cf scales. The blade is so sharp it's like dropping a little chainsaw. If you look at the spyder on the blade with a strong magnifying glass there is a spyder web design within it. Something you wouldn't suspect looking at it with the naked eye.

    Never apologize for your views. Even if you have second thoughts, they're the views of an expert and that's why I come here. This knife has issues and we want to know what they are. Screw 'it, share your gut feelings, and speak your mind.

    I love the compression locks. Just not on this knife. Should have a liner lock, because of the little amount of space to hold on to.

    The Kapara is just about as perfect as a pocket knife can be. Especially love the compression lock as well. Sexy looks and fits the hand well in several different grips

    The Kapara is one of my favorite Spyderco’s. You raised some issues I hadn’t noticed, but still it’s right at the top. I think it very good in the kitch and one of the main reasons I bought it. Great review...very good detail and thanks for your time to make it.

    Where do you keep finding these sng’s at? I’ve been in the market a while now and can’t seem to find one available for a semi reasonable price.

      Scot S...I had to pre sign for a new knife. I haven’t looked on the secondary market. But it was...money up front, then it didn’t take long to get it.

    I liked the video. I find the Kapara to be great to handle and deploy, and I really like the design including the compression lock. You are right, however, about the difficulty of retracting the blade if using thicker gloves.

    Thank you for all of the work you put into this in depth look at the knife. I took the old vid as a mostly positive review but pointing out some relatively minor issues. Same with this one. Not sure if it's just people upset that you're pointing out flaws with their new favorite knife of the month or whatever. That img flash was a nice touch btw lol

    I love the Kapara except for the compression lock, I can't close it without it hitting my finger on the swing back. Totally agree

    I want to see the Norseman review

  • @jkstdstang

    While the strider SNG and the Norseman are awesome knives the zaan would be more realistic for me as a purchase financially so I would like to see you carry that for 2 weeks and see your evaluation on that model. I picked up a small inlay sebenza (my first CRK) recently and really like it and So looking to pick up a large CRK soon. As always thanks for the excellent videos and your different perspectives on things is always welcomed! I'd much rather watch your take on a two week Carry then some other reviewer that is going over specs and doing size comparisons but has no input on actual usage and the quirks of the knife.

    I really appreciate hearing your take on knives, because you consider different aspects of design and use and have a different personal preferences than most of the other reviewers. IMHO it would be helpful for your audience if you could state a few more facts so we can actually reference them.....the first being, thickness behind the edge, if you could actually measure it, give us a number in relation to your comparisons. Hardly anyone actually provides a number (you have in the past) just thick and thin behind the edge at most. You also talk a lot about ergonomics, an idea of your glove size would be helpful for others to consider, you obviously have 'pianist' fingers (long fingers) so this effects how comfortable you feel the knife is to hold and use. Lastly gloves! Really you have two hands so making such a defining statement as that you cannot use the it if you are wearing gloves, need to take your glove off to use the knife? Why not compare to your Sydiechef? These are small points regarding info you present, cheers keep up the good work

    Maby it was a slip of the tough but why do you say PM3, it's caled Para 3

  • @SharpThinkingKnives
    @SharpThinkingKnives 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the main reason people who carry pm2s and likewise enjoy the compression lock so much is because they don't really use their knives... very convenient lock otherwise.

    • @neroknives1828
      @neroknives1828  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea i much prefer spyderco frame locks to the compression lock. I think the compression lock has its place on some knives. But it tends to lead to hot spots on the knives that are ment for hard use. Also in the case of the kapara. It's just way to thin to Successfully accommodate the compression lock.
