- What up people- I'm back from my remission from that illness I had.... ugh🤢 I feel great now tho, so don't worry 😝
In this... sixth? edition of my Spooky Season, we are covering the neglected queen herself, Victoria. Apparently there's a lot of debate on who Victor should've ended up with, so I'll enjoy watching that drama unfold in the comments 😈
I really hope you enjoy watching this video, and if you do/did, feel free to check out my other videos OR MAYBE even leave a comment (because seriously, comments are way more fun than likes and shares)
ALSO, currently while I am writing this, we are about 100-200 subs away from 75 THOUSAND SUBSCRIBERS.... which is kinda mental, considering where we were a few months ago. I probably have enjoyed editing my more recent videos, mainly because EVERYONE loves Coraline and you have all been very patient, supportive and above all.... ✨️BADDIES✨️
I'll wrap this up now aha, thanks everyone, and I'll leave you with these tags:

@@SweetOrangeGirl and they practically just met!! Victoria is such a keeper and she deserves her happy ending
@@luzcalderon7808 Ex-freaking-actly!
Well he was basically the only source of enrichment she had in a lifetime
Girl risked so much for escaping and telling her parents about a corpse in the 19TH CENTURY. Sis would've been thrown into an asylum, but she did it anyway. A queen, through and through 😩
Its so sad how people put her down just because they wanted victor and emily to be together. She is not boring and they do have good chemistry together!
Stop! Pitting! Two! Great! Ladies! Against Each other! It would be one thing if the movie made Victoria selfish, bratty, cruel, entitled, etc. but she is not! Despite her horrible parents, she is a very kind, empathetic person with a lot of resilience for her circumstances. Yes, she is "proper" but she grew up in a house where she HAD to please her folks who just view her as a pawn for their status.
@@carriemoscoe3159 The only reason Victoria "lacks personality" is because she's basically forced by her family to only be a proper delicate lady and not to express herself.
Exactly! In my opinion, both Victor and Victoria got to be their true selves after they got married and happily encouraged each other.
@@Logitah Exactly. People don't realize it just had to end with Victor and Victoria. By marrying Emily, Victor would be free but Victoria would not. Of course, Emily would be happy, but honestly what Emily really needed was closure. Together, Victor & Victoria set each other free. Victor & Victoria had chemistry from the start, and together, they will free each other. Especially if they can get away from both of their families, and with their marriage they may both be able to move into a place of their own, where I'm sure they'd grow with eachother.
@@emmamarkel8410 I believe Victor taught Victoria how to play piano and they also learned how to dance together. ❤️
Victoria's pupils are permanently set to "Holy shit a ghost" mode, and it's iconic.
Lol! This comment was everything. 🤣
I think the “Holy shit, a ghost” is just explaining Tim Burtons style 🗿
Yes😂😂😂
i think you mean “holy shit a corpse”
Like she was not happy at her family like to slayy of his going ate upppp
I know she doesn’t get to do much, but Victoria is underrated. She may not be as quirky as Emily, that doesn’t make her a cardboard cutout. In fact her personality is a lot like Victor’s (both shy, sweet and introverted but also you can tell they’re internally rolling their eyes at everything)
For a girl in the Victorian era she is actually very helpful, smart and brave
I mean, a corpse stole her boyfriend and her first instinct was to try to get him back.
I love how two weird looking parents made a normal looking girl

Honestly her character is more interesting than Victor. Dont get me wrong, I like him, but Victoria just feels more developed. She's quietly strong and determined, witty, playful, poised, romantic, and empathetic.
Yessss Victoria is a beauty
I will fight anyone who disagrees with you on this.
I would personally disagree, the whole point of the movie was for Victor to learn how to crawl out of his shell and he did just that when at the climax he himself decided to challenge Lord Barkis, putting his life on the line for his fiancée and Emily.
Although he didn't win that was still courageous of him to do considering how much of a fraidy cat he was at the beginning of the movie.
Victor at the start would never have dreamed of such a thing and would probably have run away like a coward.
Another example is at the end when he tried to stop Emily because he felt the need to fulfill his promise, before then he was doing everything in his power to try to get rid of Emily even stooping as low as to lie to her about seeing his parents just so he could go back home, the fact that he felt the need to repay her says that he sees much more of her as a person now and not a minor inconvenience.
He went from a trembling coward, scared of his own shadow to a firm, competent, brave, strong and compassionate husband for Victoria.
All three main characters developed just as much as the other.

Finally, Victoria getting the appreciation she deserves in the video and comments. She's a sweet girl who has been repressed and neglected her whole life and yet risked life, limb, and what little freedom she did have to save Victor. We love
She doesn't deserve the hate just bc Victor chose her 🤧
Right?
besides, is everyone forgetting that Emily made that choice as well?
@@agenttheater5people always love to tell women what is best for them 🙄
@@jules6578 huh? I meant that Emily made the choice to let Victor go because she realised that as unfair as what happened to her was she was only denying Victoria the same happiness that was denied to her.
Sorry, I didn't quite understand your comment. Did you mean that people weren't respecting Emily's choice?
@@agenttheater5 Yeah, basically. Everyone loves to say Emily should’ve ended up with Victor and die on that hill when that was never the point of the movie, but they always say it as if it was the best thing for Emily. Which is what I was trying to say. 💀
I love Victoria honestly, she’s so underrated, like she literally saw her fiancé get kidnapped and decided to try and save him. She’s kind, but also savage, and I love how even though she just met Victor she still deeply cared for him regardless. I’m glad she got her happy ending she deserved one
Agreed

Victoria deserved her happy ending with Victor, period! You can fight me on this, I don’t care.

I remember someone on tumblr made an au where her and Victor switched. Her and Emily got together.
@@ShyasShadow I say that. The way I squealed-

This shoud've never been a controversial topic, Emily *AND* Victoria are absolute queens. 😭
They could've chosen any language, but they chose the language of facts💅
Honestly Victoria Slayed in Her Wedding Attire while looking distraught as fuck.😌☕️🫖
5:59 I definitely Love her right here ❤
Victoria and victor were destined to be together, his marriage to her would've saved her from the constant maltreatment from her family. And i loved Emily's decision at the end, shes was unfairly robbed of a full life and realized she was doing the same thing to victor.
The only reason Victoria "lacked personality" is because she was basically forced by her family to pretend not to have one. Emily deserved better in her lifetime. But she is free now. Victoria deserves better in her life and hopefully, Victor will give that to her.
Exactly. Once she’s away from her family she’ll actually be allowed to be herself and show more personality
@Fay23088 Yeah. For instance, she seemed very interested in Victor's piano playing, and said she was never allowed to play because her mother said it was "too passionate" I bet Victor would be more than happy to teach her. Victoria was very bold to run away like that and I'm sure more of her boldness will shine through when she's away from her toxic family. Her & Victor may live alone or she may live with Victor's family, who have their own problems for sure, but are much more open & welcoming then Victoria's parents. I hope they both get to live lives of their own together, honeslty. Honeslty they both have more personality when away from their families, who are both toxic in their own way. Although Victor's aren't cruel like Victoria's.
@@emmamarkel8410 Same! know it’s just a movie but you do end up caring about these characters lol.
@@Fay23088 sameeee
I always liked to believe when married victor and Victoria moved away so they wouldn't deal with the pressure anymore and get to be open about their hobbies and be more themselves and victor would definitely teach victoria how to play the piano or paint and i love the idea that if they had a girl they would name her Emily and would try to be better parents then their own parents
Sis climbed down a quilt and then jumped down to the ground all while in an organ-crushing corset just to save her man. Slay queen!
Victoria was always my favourite character from corpse bride, thank you for this absolute masterpiece
victoria and victor are so cute especially when they play piano together
You mean Emily? Victoria doesn't know how to play piano. She said it herself
@@shadetee234I think they mean when her and Victor meet when he plays the piano. They’re right it’s pretty cute and shows that they both were wrong with thinking that they wouldn’t be a match.
I love her and she deserved her happy ending and nice wedding. She did not hesitate ONCE to save Victor and the fans do not love her enough for my liking
listen....i love emily but jeez....victoria deserved better! she was literally locked in her room by her parents and *jumped* out a window for her "man", viktor...girlie needs a break...still love that movie though!! (sorry in advance for ranting) 🖤
People always hate on Victoria and scream that Victor should have married Emily instead, but then forget that she literally FOUND ETERNAL PEACE at the end of the movie.
They're more concerned with Emily not "getting the guy" in the end than they are about the fact that she could happily pass on after her murderer was brought to justice.
Emily made the right choice telling Victor to go live his life with Victoria, AND she gets to finally rest. It was the perfect ending. 🥺🦋
As the ancient Finns used to say; Peace for the living, rest for the dead
I was always a Victoria stan. Sure, Emelie is cute and qirky - your manic pixie dream corpse - but Victoria isn’t as naiive as her and shows that even under all the opression of her gloomy life with this horrid family around, she still developed a strong will, pride and even underlying passion.
Exactly!!
I actually really like Victoria. When I first watched the movie, I didnt reeeaaally understand why she was so desirable to Victor compared to Emily. Then she went out to save him and was so desperate to do so that she climbed out a two story window IN HEELS, walked all the way out of town in a storm straight to the only place she thought could help Victor, and stood up to Lord Barkis and laid it out shortly yet beautifully. Shes a true elegant lady and a brave woman and an absolute QUEEN!
People really treat Victoria unfairly when she literally didn't do anything wrong over the course of the entire movie.
I love how victoria isnt annoyed at victor making many mistakes during the wedding rehearsal. She really understands what he is going through
4:16 At first I genuinely thought he was going to help her 😭
I guess people don't give Victoria enough credit because she is too real. A vengeful corpse of a runaway bride is more appealing for the story than a girl that obediently marries the man her parents settled her with. But when you give it more thought, Victoria's whole upbringing was created around the idea of marriage as the only appropriate way for the woman of her class, so naturally she would dream of a perfect betrothed and loving family life after. She does have a strong character, she is compassionate and good - natured which is solely her merit, cause look at her parents...
She really got the Sally treatment too. Female characters who are way too developed and interesting for the minimal screentime they were given
5:18 HELPPP THE WAY HER HAND JUST FLOPS DOWN IS SO FUNNY TO ME 💀💀💀💀💀💀
1:51 why did Kim’s voice fit so well😭🤣
1:43 I'm glad you pointed that out. After rewatching this movie so many times, he literally takes 3 steps! Bro trying to gaslight Victor so bad.

Will I ever not find this funny? Probably not.
It caught me off guard 😂
Victoria deserves to be happy I don't get why people hate her so much
As someone who’s been a Victoria Everglot stan this entire time, YESSSS 👏🏻❤️ I’m so happy people agree that she’s underrated and an absolute queen like she’s so amazing
Omg I’m so happy you made a Victoria video, she’s an under appreciated queen ✨✨
I hate it when people pit her up against Emily and trash on her just because she's not as fun or alive, girl was constantly oppressed and held by her stank ass parents.
Even in the scene where she walked in on Victor playing piano, she said she wanted to learn to play but her parents said it was too improper for her.
Hell she even tried to save Victor after he was kidnapped by Emily, Victoria is just as strong and compelling of a female character as Emily, stop pitting them against each other.
I also hate these same toxic people that don't hesitate to compare characters, just because they don't think they are better than another...
Unfortunately happens a lot to the male and female characters in the movies, but also in real life with people.
Yes. It was such a girl vs girl forced situation. When she could stand up for herself she would. She is awesome.

Girl gets bullied so hard in this movie. 😭
I loved Victoria so much! She is such a baddie her and Emily would rule the world as girl bosses😂

0:48 no bc in regency england if a lady knew how to play instruments that was EXTREMELY looked up to
That is true. However, it's probably more a reflection on what her parents value than what the culture at the time valued. It's probably an indication that her parents think they're above any emotional or creative expression, and that's what makes them better than everyone and so try to push this onto their daughter.

The detail in the faces bro. They have frickin dimples, creases by their mouths, their face tightens with different facial expressions, the blinking, all of it is realistic in some way which is what makes it scary. They move like stop motion clay but somehow look very realistic.
I will never understand people that hate Victoria. She genuinely loves victor and cares for him deeply and frankly was far more understanding of the “Darling help, I accidentally got married to an undead bride.” thing than any of us would be.
2:34 I just noticed that she actually blushes here!
Victoria did nothing wrong and deserved happiness. I love Emily but the Victoria hate was ridiculous.
✨💅ST Queen 0:04 💅✨
FINALLY my girl gets the respect she deserves 😭 I was a very shy, introverted girl when I first saw this film so a character with a similar temperament who still had leagues of inner strength meant so much to me. I've always been mad that the die-hard Emily fans insisted on trashing Victoria instead of taking the time to consider how and why a character like her could actually be important to us quiet ones who deserve our own brand of strong heroine. Girlbosses are great but some of us growing up needed characters like Victoria who told us that we weren't broken for not being outgoing or outspoken enough. Like Victoria we could still be strong without changing a damn thing about ourselves
EDIT: She also doesn't get enough credit for telling the truth about Victor's marriage to Emily during a time period when a woman could have very easily been locked in an asylum for being too "hysterical." Girl knew what she was risking and tried to save him anyway ❤
I'm beginning to sense a theme with these stock motion horror classics, children having parents that *hate* them... is paranorman like this? Coraline *AND* corpse bride seem to share this.
Coraline and ParaNorman have loving parents that either don’t have the energy or struggle to connect with their children. Their parents do not hate them at all. They are just stressed. In the case of corpse bride her parents do not hate her per se, but they do not love her. They don’t even love each other so I’m sure it’s nothing personal. It would be a different case, like in the Willoughby’s, if they loved each other, but not their children.
@@anapplepinetarticathe23rd90 I more meant this as kinda a joke cuz the more I watched Coraline the more I saw that y'know, Charlie and Mel do care for Coraline it's just that life happens and she felt neglected as a result.... can't say that's the case with corpse bride.
