One thing not in the TH-cam video is the "lumpy or creamy red bean paste" joke which is a play on the names. Anko is red bean paste and koshi anko is the smooth kind, tsubu anko has whole beans or partial beans in it. I laughed a lot at that because my family makes mochi every year and we're a koshian family.
So far this show reminds me of the lunatic cartoons from 80s and 90s such as Ren and Stimpy, Cow and chicken, What a CArtoon, En, Edd'n Eddy, Dexter's laboratory. Just competition between scenes which one will be more crazier than previous one. So far It's great fun! Yes, I am that old.
George keeps saying this is a super weeby anime and i don't know if that's true.... But I also don't know if that's untrue I might be too deep down the rabbit hole to have any perspective anymore
Moreso it relies on you having a Japanese sense of flavour: word puns(mostly deer related), extreme but polite comedy game(a quiz show aimed at exposing koshitan's most embarrassing moments)visual gags, and highschool settings. Yes, a thing being set in highschool is important to it being comedic. So I'd say it's more a Japanese culture thing rather than a weeb thing.

Um… Yeah, no. It is fine so far for what it is; but I am not seeing this series come close to even “Excel Saga” levels of “unhinged”, let alone the *really* wild stuff.
I had high hopes for this anime, but I feel like it's already falling into a rut. Someone does something wacky or absurd, and Koshi yells and screams about how wacky and absurd it is. Rinse and repeat. A surreal comedy as good as Nichijou or Cromartie High would have been too much to hope for, but I dared to hope that it would at least be as good as something like Asobi Asobase. For now I'm giving it the 3 episode test, because I do think episode 1 was a fair bit funnier than this one, so there's still some hope.
Not as great as the first episode for sure, but lets hope its not just the same absurdist humor the whole way through, looking for some good substance on Ep 3
