Very important that new people know this: when you pair Catless headers with these catbacks they become astronomically louder and dronier. If you want a more tame setup with less drone, highly recommend a catted header and catted or dual resonated front pipe paired with the Catback if you are trying to change out the whole exhaust system. However what will be the most effective thing is to have a quieter Catback with a full system. For example, I started out with the Invidia n2 Catback and by itself it was fairly quiet, almost to the point where it sounded damn near stock. I added Tomei Catless UEL headers and it became almost louder than something like a single exit Tomei. I know this may seem enticing and it did sound beautiful but the drone is absolutely killer. I couldn’t even hear myself think or talk to my passengers without raising my voice all just because of the headers. Switched to the CSG Touring 86 (quietest catback out there) and it’s still very audible, people know I’m around when I drive by them but it’s a lot quieter but now I can drive with NO DRONE and talk to my passengers. Long story short, if you want a quiet full exhaust setup, go with catted headers and catted front pipe or dual resonated front pipe and pair that with a quieter catback system. If you want to be a loud person, just know that it’s all fun and games until you are foaming at the mouth from the pure drone. If you have an exhaust related questions, ask away. I’ve been through pretty much everything with these exhausts on my crazy conquest to find the perfect setup lmao.
@@Flunoir yes single exits are the way to go for performance. It’s lighter weight about 90% of the time especially with lighter titanium Catbacks and the air flow is more direct due to less piping. Most track frs cars run them because although the sound can be a bit too much, the performance gains are hard to pass up. Also if you tracking a car you’ve got that helmet on to mute the sound lmfaoo
@YSoAggressive - What's the easiest way to get in touch? I'd love your insight as I'm just dipping my toe in to modding my 2018 86. I like the sound of the current setup and do not want any of the dreaded drone you talk about. I'm too old and crotchety for a loud car, especially since I upgraded from a 1990 RX-7.
Hey man what do U think of the invidia N1 on an otherwise stock 86? I love the deep and loud(er) exhaust tone but really don't want drone on my comfortable daily.
hey bro, I was wondering what would be the best exhaust setup you recommend( budget friendly). I don't need something crazy loud but I would like something that can make some noise when needed or can grab some attention when I drive by. I don't need a whole setup but a simple upgrade would be nice. With that being said, what do you recommend? Thanks.
I was planning to just do a catback exhaust with no other mods. Was wondering if I can get a mild but slightly lower growl than stock without adding anything else (headers, etc). Also at what point would you void the warranty? I assume changing the underbody technically voids it but you can always change it back to stock before going to the dealer lol
im very new to the scene and know very little about cars and even less about modding them. the catback exhaust systems seem to have that sound/growl that im looking for. i just recently bought a 2023 GR86. would i need anything else besides the exhaust system or am i good to go if i just buy that?
When installing a catless uel header, do I have to tune the car or not? And does it throw a check engine light? Right now my BRZ has stock headers, over pipe, front pipe and aftermarket cat-back exhaust.
So I’d like to get either an N1 or N2 exhaust and eventually swap the headers. Just don’t know too many reliable websites for parts. I’m new to the scene and just bought and FR-S. I’ve seen 86speed pop up a lot. Anyone have some recommendations?
If you have a quiet Catback paired with these headers like the CSG Touring 86 Catback then no. If you have anything that’s even a tiny bit on the loud side, when paired with the Catless headers turns into a whole beast and will get a lot of attention from cops. With Catless headers you don’t comply with California emissions so if you need to do smog soon then you’ll have to swap in the stock headers again which can be annoying. Otherwise it really depends on your area because I live in Cali but never have gotten my car pulled over with Catless headers and the cops around here are really chill.
@@YSoAggressive i have a 2017, so I’m not too worried about smog yet. Imo my catback exhaust is slightly on the quiet side and I’m thinking the catless uel should be just about right to not cause too much attention. JDL has a catted uel which I am debating on, but again I don’t want to miss out the gains of a catless.
Would be nice if I had my exhaust. Ordered like 5 months ago from you guys. 😂 all I receive is a email saying you’ll get it next month, next month comes I get a email you’ll get it next, and again and again.
Beat me to it, ordered my invidia complete exhaust and the FT UEL's early sept and have only received my UEL header. They say i'll get it in nov...but now I don't know thanx to your post.

This is very helpful because this is exactly how I want to set mine up when I get it. Thank you.

I have OF UEL header and Perrin 2.5" resonated catback. The symphony at 4K+ RPM is amazing, while nobody would suspect a thing under 4K RPM.
Do you have a sound clip?
Super awesome recordings! You guys make such great videos
Thanks so much!

For Catless headers you need a tune, it will throw a check engine light otherwise.
Will need a tune since you lose the cat and the O2 sensors will pick it up. oft tablet stage 2 tune is fit for that
How do I find a place that will install an axel back?
Good video 👍🏼
are there any california legal headers out there?

smog and sound from state troopers, not cops
Has anybody installed the MXP COMP RS on their car? If so, what were your thoughts on it? Would it be too loud paired with UEL headers?
Im in desperate need for a 3inch front pipe that can fit my auto 86. None of the ones Ive tried clears the transmission
Maybe change the transmission instead of the FP hahaha!
