I think in Shaun of the Dead, they threw records at a zombie in their backyard. Also, in Hellraiser 3, the Cenobites converted the DJ at a club into a CD-throwing monstrosity.
@SnakeWorksStudio The mattress was in the 1st and 2nd films. In Hellraiser 3, a nightclub owner is seduced by the Pillar of Souls, from which he frees Pinhead by killing hot chicks.
The two squats in the foreground of the first image were made as miniatures. The one to the right is actually carrying a flamer that is fed from a tank on his back. The other figure was called 'Colt Stoner' (all the metal Squat minis were named after guns) but I don't know exactly what his weapon was supposed to be. I've always treated it as a lasgun on the figures I have.
I loved the old Squat armor. That's the thing that first got me into the game. Then they where suddenly gone. There was an image on the back of White Dwarf, of a hallway battle between the Squats and Orks. It was like a cutaway with real minis. That was what hooked me till this day.
at Comicon 2010 there was a Tron Legacy panel and they recorded the audience chanting and cheering to use in the stadium scene so I'm technically in that movie
I miss the way Oldhammer and Rogue Trader made the Space Marines look absolutely horrifying. Scars, wounds, wiring coming out of uncomfortable places. Nowadays, they look like male underwear models in trendy shop catalogs.
I get how it’s important for the rules to have well-categorized official weapons, but I love the old art with all their wacky weapons, they’re so much fun. I love imagining what they could be. I’m going to call the halo-ring producing one seen at 7:32 a plasma bazooka
Just got my 40k hardcover first of Rogue Trader in the mail. Took me straight back to the 80s, carefully leafing through it. I like the last image best - those ork paws are proper paws indeed, & with, apparently, four digits each only! 😄👍
Eldar warrior: On the right hand side of the chest there is a leather/material strap running 45 degrees down and back, probably meant to seem bolted on. That's the material the holster seems implied to be attached to. Everything else on the chest armor makes sense when you see the strap
For the first squat image, I have some squat minis (with what I assumed were lasguns) that look fairly similar to the gun in the painting. Kind of a "boxyer" looking lasgun
I'm pretty sure all the waystone lore came in with the first major Eldar revamp, the one that introduced Aspect Warriors. That was in White Dwarf issue # something-or-other, definitely pre-2nd edition.
"10 internet cookies if you can remember those guys" .... you just brought up repressed memories of london's burning. Why would you do dis? XD Id also say the squat on the right is using an old school assault cannon, that looks almost like the one you used to get in Space Crusade.
Its Shaun of the Dead the record throwing scene. The Home Alone scene where the one robber gets electrocuted n turns into a skeleton is what I thought of when I saw the marine's head getting zapped. lol
12:36 Third one gets a lot of hate and isn't as good as the original, but it's a perfectly fine goofy movie. It's certainly much better than Son of Crocodile Dundee.
@@SnakeWorksStudio somehow lol. 2018 movie with Danny McBride as Dundee Jr. You wouldn't believe me if I told you the names they got for the rest of the cast.
I joinedin with the sing a long 😃. The firs croc dd is the best, but the sequel was an ok roud out of the story. I think there may have been a part 3 but i can't remember any details wich means it was probably shit, my brian is good like that 😊
I am getting into the Horus Heresy and some of the ART is just ATROCIOUS! I own several old Codexes.... For Warhammer Fantasy and 40K! I would say from 4th edition to 7th... 3th Edition is also bad ass. BAD ASS. And then... NOTHING! Just Digital Artwork that is rushed and LACK LUSTER! And it'S not only GW! I got the Marvel Crisis Protocol starter... and the Artwork is cool, but really.... kinda LACKLUSTER! I as an Artist have an Eye for that. We need this Old ARTWORK STYLE to Come back!
@@SnakeWorksStudio Not even clean. Just Rushed and unskilled. Some of it is great...you know they hired the right people for the titlepage...But inside the book... they CHEAP OUT! That's not good. It needs to be a labor of love all along to make millions.
Love the old school WH art. That one in the thumbnail is lame as hell though honestly nothing cool going on with that image the Squats’ weapons look like an afterthought and the two dudes just look awkward and poorly placed. Honestly terrible painting

Hellraiser 3 was weird! I just remember a bed in a night club?

I think playing them as lasguns makes the most sense yeah.

I think I remember that. Were there mentor legion too?
@@SnakeWorksStudio I don't remember, let me try to find an image. It was minis, not art, but still cool
LoL in searching for the image, of "squats white dwarf battle cut away" your image popped up
Can't find it, but I think it was the back of 111

Those massive space marines plenty full of gritty details, tubes and impossible weapons were my favorite illustrations from Rogue Trader book.

Did Orks always have 4 fingers???
@@SnakeWorksStudio Not in my memories! That fellow getting shot is quaint... Nature made up for him by giving him those oven-mitten sized hands. 😄

That GUN is called thee Finger Breaker. Very effective I'm told. Some guy missing a hand told me. He was very short if I remember rightly.

Are they old metal ones?
@@SnakeWorksStudio
Yes they are!
I’d love to see some talented fan make depictions of the Tau, Necrons, Adeptas Sororitas, etc. in the Rogue Trader era art style
I would have named the squid thing the Sqruid
I can’t pronounce that! How do you say it?
@SnakeWorksStudio screw-id....I guess
