    What an incredible amount of precision work is involved to hand make an individual graver! Thanks for sharing the process. Much respect for your work and quality of it even though I have only seen it on your video and of course had to check your website.

    I have tool envy, technique envy and your hand engraved fave tools are beautiful. Thanx for sharing! =) I tried to make a star stamp for silver from a star driver bit and was wondering how important it is to have the sides tapered ... does that make for a more even stamp when hit? .... cause it's a real hit and miss thing as it is. Ruining Silver gets expensive!

      purchase copper sheet for practice, its cheap and stamps about the same way silver would, as far as the stamp taper goes a longer taper is my prefered method, makes it easy to see where you are stamping and leaves a crisp outer edge on the impression.

    So badass, I always wondered how your stamps were made compared to silversmiths that make one off designs at home. Did you start your work making stamps or was your shop originally opened for other types of production? Very freaking cool.

      Hey there!! It actually started in the booth of the tattoo shop I worked at haha, in between appointments I would engrave stamps until I got busy enough to need to move into a bigger space

    @4:25 you started using a tool - looks like an electric carver or ??? I think I need (read: want) that tool. You have a link for that thing?

    Hi - Nice video, thanks for sharing. Just curious, what type of graver blade are you using to do the carving? Thanks! -

    I didn't see you temper the stamp after Harding it?

    • @tdarons
      @tdarons 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I wondered about that too? I have watched two other videos and they both taught that you need to temper after hardening. Now I am bit confused (newbie jeweller here)

    • @buffalorutland5677
      @buffalorutland5677  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes most definitely temper, I’ll have to rewatch but definitely temper, easiest way for metal stamps is to toss in an oven at 400 degrees for an hour

    Hi I was wondering how much would a custom metal stamp cost from you? I've been searching on the internet to buy sea turtle stamp and I can't find it. I was wondering if you could make one.

    Easy steps to making a jewelry stamp:
    Step 1. Assume a $100.000 metal shop.

      I wish man, I started my company with 200 bucks, worked on it for a year or two in between tattoo appointments and days off from the tattoo shop, I worked on it until I got so busy I couldn’t afford to go to the tattoo shop anymore cuz I would miss out on orders etc. I spent years reinvesting into my shop with the cash I made, no loans and lived way below my means.
