- The bail hearing of 21-year-old student Bafana Mahungela is continuing in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court.
He is accused of the pre-meditated murder and rape of Johannesburg teacher Kirsten Kluyts.
The 34-year-old English teacher at Delta Park High School was murdered while taking part in a local sporting event in October.
Mahungela was arrested at a student residence at Varsity College in Sandton last month.

I've just went to Google to finding the length of our shadows,plants and animals alike just as to when are they longest.They are longest in the morning,in the afternoon and evening.The deceased shadow was long at the time she passed the gate into the field.Bafana shadow had dissapeared meaning,he passed the place around noon.The difference is going to be hours not minutes hence the state lawyers was unable to answer the question from Bafana.Bafana asked'look at the two pictures,the deceased shadow and trees around are long,look at my picture,there is no shadow' so if I was following her about 100m apart,so when I pass the sun decided to disappear?Huge technicality which will be difficult if not IMPOSSIBLE to win!The lawyer then said'I can't answer that one'The timeline the deceased left home since she was a fast walker,the probability is highly that it was in the morning,estimation will be made.Its great that the CCTV footage this time around was working!He should be given bail,he still has to face defeating the ends of justice.The sunflower-case in the Free state,they had committed the murder!.The magistrate explained the procedure and even indicated that Justice cannot be determined by an uproar i the country.Alternatively people then resorted to them being givenR20 000:00 bail,he refused to say,bail is not a punishment but a right,let Bafana be granted one.We only have circumstantial evidence,NOTHING concrete.Im great supporter of GBV but I also support FACTS and Justice.

Finding a corpse isn't a normal encounter, why is he expected to have a normal reaction. That shouldn't in any way be perceived as an indicator of guilt. Go watch the "On The Case with Paula Zahn" and u will realize that people do panic and do the unthinkable.I really hope the focus is not solely on this boy, because if this case falls apart, it's going to be very sad for the victim's family. i have so many questions. she was allegedly killed by blunt force and strangulation. usually a person dying in such a manner fights back. did they check him for bruises and scrapes? a woman will generally try to scratch as we don't have the strength of a man. did they check her fingernails for dna? i don't want to say he did it as i was not there. i don't know if he's guilty (the wearing of her clothes raises red flags) or innocent. i just wish more information is available. all i know is that none of us were there, apart from the victim and the perpetrator, whoever he is. only those 2 people would know the truth but unfortunately one (and her unborn child) of them is no longer here to tell the tale. this is why i wish we had more surveillance cameras. some people see it as a invasion of privacy, but me, i think if you have nothing to hide, you would not have a problem with it. imagine every move was captured on camera. this would have been an open and shut case. let's petition government for more cameras, as we are in a country with almost 80 murders a day.
He was arrested a month after the deceased body was found. I don’t think they’d be much of that sort of evidence, if in fact he is the perpetrator.

@@MsDrusilla666 I definitely agree with you, that sort of forensic investigation should’ve been done thoroughly and correctly but unfortunately knowing the ineptitude of our police and law enforcement agencies, I don’t think they did the best job. I definitely think that he is guilty to be honest. There’s no sane person in the world who would have acted or even thought to do what that young man did. He definitely killed her and tried to get rid of the evidence.

My assertions are as follows: 1 he was in a predominantly white area, and he is black (he will be perceived as a suspect) , tried to disguise and flee the area. 2. My 2 cents analysis based on how he answered questions is, someone did it, and my suspicion says, these could be a love triangle and his defense should hire a private investigator. 3. Based on the little information we or I have gathered here, the police seems to close the investigation based on the photos of the suspect after they see him wearing the clothing he admittedly stole from the deceased. 4. on the issue of defeating the ends of justice by disposing the same clothing he stole, where is the murder weapon, did they find it with the clothes, and where is the blanket coming from?, 5. Why did the woman who entered the gate, took him a picture, why was she doing that before any other thing we hear about? This to me look more like being in a wrong place at the wrong time, accompanied by wrong decisions and actions taken by the suspect. Note! I also need for the family to get justice.
i just read on EWN that there was no evidence of rape. what they found, though, is that she was pregnant (as is known) and inside her womb was a 14 week old male fetus of 54 grams in weight. she would have had a baby boy. whoever killed her must rot in prison for life.

I really feel for the victim in this murder case, and I hope the true perpetrator will be brough to book for justice to prevail. A very important question was ommited, That is a question on footprint .It is so relevant because the scene was at the bush. There were supposed to be Footprint .How many foot print were there, was it footprint for a male on female. If two types of footprint were observed by Bafana. It will suggest the deceased was killed there. If only one type of foot print ,it will suggest she was killed somewhere and dropped there. If foot print was for Bafana only or for Bafana and the deceased, it will suggest it was Bafana who did the act, unless it was natural courses. This is how we catch a thief at the rural area. You never can go wrong with footprint, even if the thief can wear shoes the other way round. If the thief tries to clear the steps ,the cleared marks are followed.

Something is not adding up here, as much as I want to believe this boy there’s so many improbable things like when someone dies their body gets stiff… so there’s no way he could just take off her T-shirt so easily coz the arms would have been stuck in that position they die in and also what was in his T-shirt that made him change to wear hers…😢

Though am not following this case thoroughly, the only moment where I would give this young men a benefit of doubt is when he says, "I found her laying down, and I rolled her over to see if she was alive. I decided to take off her clothes n throw away in the drain because I didn't wanted to leave my DNA behind."
He could have been confused what could be the right thing to do next after touching the body.
He wore the clothes. Secondly, trying to assist an injured person is not a crime. He took of the clothes because of guilt. Guilt made him do it, not panicking.
