Kirsten Kluyts Murder | Bafana Mahungela bail hearing postponed to Monday

- The bail hearing of 21-year-old student Bafana Mahungela will continue on Monday and is expected to sit for three days.
Mahungela appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court, north of Johannesburg, yesterday.
He is accused of the murder of a Johannesburg teacher, 34-year-old Kirsten Kluyts.
Mahungela faces charges of rape, aggravated and pre-meditated murder as well as robbery.
He was arrested at a student residence at Varsity College in Sandton in November 2023.

Whether he killed her or not he must be convicted for tempering with evidence. I don’t care how scared you are, you don’t undress a helpless corpse and then continue to wear their t-shirt. He needs to learn about honesty and accountability. The evidence would’ve pointed that he wasn’t the killer whether he had touched the body or not if he didn’t kill the lady. Also the first thing you they tell you in movies is don’t touch anything, you check the pulse if the 10111 operator asks you to check if the person is breathing! And yes he was going to be interrogated because that’s how the law works, it doesn’t matter how long it would’ve taken it’s absolutely necessary!
This guys story was almost believable but shaded it when he speaks of undressing a cops and take with her clothes. This guy rehearsed his story, no normal person can undress s cops in the street yes for criminal motive. I can believe this gentleman that easy, its not make sure😮😮😮

The courts cannot just dismiss his version. The task lays on the state to proven him guilty beyond reasonable doubt... A question, why didn't he just seeks help? Did he has any motive to kill her? Did he rape her, rob her and then allegedly "kill her"? There are many factors to be considered here... His demeaner is off putting considering the seriousness of the matter... but unfortunately in courts they work of facts... and with one it's premature to ascertain the outcomes given his version... If the defense cannot point to other DNA on the woman's body, other than Bafana's, it's a wrap for him and his "truth".
I agree, at this point it’s a he said she said case. The state is yet to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The state is failing to conduct proper evidence. They should have took a sperm from the deceased and tbe sperm from bafana. 2nd: they shouldnt check the footage where bafana entered the premises. They should check when the victim entered if she was being followed and by who. And they should alse check the time difference between the deceased and bafana entering the premises. Thats what cctv footage is for. .
