- Mee6 has lost the plot. Seriously.
I don't know in what parallel Discord universe or reality Mee6 is existing in, but spending $1000 for a Discord bot subscription is nearly impossible for most people. And even if you had $1000, why wouldn't you spend it on anything else.
Mee6 is hands down the worst Discord bot I have ever had the pleasure of making a video on. This is quite frankly, the most disgusting cash grab I have ever seen.

For a thousand dollars, you can HIRE a developer to make your very own server bot and host it for years
I'll do it for half the price and host it for 2 years 🤣

maybe some indian or pakistani developer and the bot will break or be hacked in a month but a good dev would cost about 1k to make the bot then like 100 per month to host it

Nah they rival the sims 4 perfectly. The lifetime for mee6 is literally almost the same price as all the packs and add ons sims 4 has… almost 1k. It’s insane.

Funny enough, the fact that MEE6 went from ~$90 to ~$900 in just a short time, for a service that could be replicated by literally anything else, really goes to show how they ARE indeed worse than EA. Now I do think EA is incredibly scummy and generally awful for releasing endless expensive expansion packs on The Sims 4, but at *least* EA released all these DLCs one by one for many years; and it's not like they released DLC and then started taking features away from the original game itself, because you still got to play the base game! So when MEE6, a DISCORD BOT, not only inflates their prices outrageously, but then ALSO TAKES FEATURES AWAY FROM THE BASIC BOT, it is as though they are deliberately trying to get shit on. WTF?
Even funnier still is that EA doesn't ban people from playing TS4 for criticizing their game or company. The people working for MEE6 are so mad at NTTS for... stating literal facts provided by MEE6's own staff, server, website, and mods?... that they are banning him from joining the server even when he has made alternate accounts and even changed his IP address. That is some next-level suspiciousness.

Im actually known for alt evasion. What I do is I cherry pick a discord account then steal their pfp and display name. I then do everything pretending to be another guy until they don’t trust me

You can quite literally hire somebody to make a custom bot for you with that money, it's insane.
Not really, no: 1000$ / 50$/h = 20 hours which is WAY less than amount of time needed to make anything reasonable. Software developers are *expensive*, and (good) software takes (lots of) time to make.

@@pitust discord bot are really easy to make, unless you are looking for some insane nich use that require actual engeneering skills you can literally ask some random dude to make the " 5 essential features" for 50 bucks il less than 2 days and then host the bot for super cheap since discord bot are just mostly api calls

To be fair, he paid that artist well. Animation ain't cheap to commission. Is it still a ridiculous amount of money? Absolutely. Am I still confused by it? Absolutely. Is it necessarily overpriced? Maybe, get that bag artists.
@arson7012 And, to be fair, he gets to keep and watch his animation forever. Mee6 can vanish any day without warning or change features/prices around without warning.
Imagine spending a thousand bucks for a "lifetime" licence, only to have it walked back and terminated at most five to ten years from now, like every single subscription model company does with their lifetime licenses. Major update comes along, lifetime license doesn't extend to this update, old version gets locked out due to "security reasons". And while you still have your lifetime license for the old version, it's useless because Discord won't let the old version you have a licence to be operated anymore. Because I have no doubt this is how these "lifetime" licenses are going to end up. No subscription model company will release lifetime licenses without fine print to walk it back; it's too good of a deal for the customer if they obligate themselves to indefinite future updates for a fixed up-front cost.
The only "lifetime" subscription I've seen last the test of time so far has been Star Trek Online. Which is funny because the entire game has lasted longer than anyone expected it to.

Well, there was like lifetime airline service in US, that is literally honored to this day. As it turned out, servicing a dozen of dudes with lifetime 1st class ticket is NOT CHEAP AT ALL, despite ridiculous price (like few millions dollars in 80`s, not small money at all).
There should be laws in place to ensure functional lifetime subscriptions, defined as the average lifespan of a human in your country (so probably around 70 years)

This is exactly why more people should host their own instance of an open-source bot so they have more control over it, or even better would be making their own bot. I made my own bot from scratch, and have no regrets. It's worth the time and effort.

I have a discord bot and its in 10.5k+ Servers.
It has giveaway, fun, reaction, react role, mod, marriage, currency, google lens, google and tons of tons of commands.
It cost me just $7 to host it for a month. I have 26k+ users using marrigle since there's weekly and monthly rankings, but all of this, free for everyone.
Even with all of these, I host a website, a cdn server for my own use and sometime I host 24/7 youtube live stream of anime girl sleeping, all in same server.
Mee6 scamming people at this point. Shame on them.

I remember once using the bot for the leveling feature because it was free and let us keep track of people's activity. Then we dumped it when they mentioned NFTs a few years ago.
I started using MEE6 probably late to early 2018-2019, ditched it when they removed Role Rewards for free and allowed less and less free custom commands. Definitely instead use Arcane/LevelUp bot for levels and Sapphire for the rest. Sapphire has a ton of free features.

What's currently the best and easiest to manage self hosted bot out there? I've been using Red Bot for years now but it's often times really hard to remember every command when you want to change things. A web interface or something would he preferred but not required.
NTTS joking about his grandma being in hospital and her last words will be probably the only joke that made me cry, since My grandma was in hospital in a different country and I went to visit her. I promised her to visit her everyday, instead I came by every other day so instead of seeing her 7 times I saw here maybe 3 and a few days ago she died to lung cancer :(
