Benett, your videos really inspired me to take a further step on my channel and show my face on screen. Your DJI OM + iPhone combo tips had a huge influence on my upcoming project. Thank you for your input and great narration style.
you are very welcome!
I love your all your Tutorial & Tips Videos and I am working on it as great as you do on your videography using with an iPhone only.
Just got my iphone 14 Pro Max, and your channel is a great source of information for me to explore the capabilities of the phone.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks. You guided me that I can edit on iPhone in either formats whether I record in DJI or native app. Also you guided me that iMovie is good for beginners. Thanks for guiding me.
Sure thing 😁👍🏻
Another amazing video. Thanks Benett!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dude. I'm selling my old clunky slider right now and getting that tiny one for the few times I need it each year for my iPhone. Brilliant and cheap! Also looking at that variable ND filter. Keep these coming... you have the best ideas.
Glad I could help
This video has helped me so much. Thank you and God Bless you Sir!!!
You are very welcome!
Congratulations on the channel! Very good content!!! I just bought an i14pro and I don't know which accessory(s) to choose; I need to protect it and I want to think about using a variable ND filter... I still have two Mont-M slow ones... What recommendations could you give me?
Excellent advice. I have two iPhones,14 pro max and 13 pro, the slider you have, the gimbal you have, the sandmarc lenses and filters. My question for you is how you managed to get all the stuff you have in the 3L Peak sling bag. I have all 3 size peak slings v2 and I just can’t see how you are getting everything into the 3L, but would to😅
Best vlogging set up ever
Nice video 👌love from India ❣️
Glad you liked it!!
Thank you for this! ✊🏾
Anytime!
Hi Benett. Thank you for the great information.
Q: How do you mount an nd filter to the anamorphic & telephoto lenses?
Sandmarc offer ND filters that you can screw on to the lenses
What's the best memory to get? Thank you
Thanks for the tips bro😃
you are welcome!
Thank you so much. This was perfect to me. Leena from Finland
You are very welcome 😎
I'm gonna have to get that sling bag
Thank u for the introduction! I am looking for a filter set for my iphone 14 pro..... So the Sandmac clip will allow all the 3 cameras to be well covered? Cos I really don't wanna put on another phone cover just to use their lens...
Yes it the filter covers all three lenses:)
Does this gimbal handle the weight of a lease on the iPhone?
The only issue is the anamorphic lens. As I watched the example in your video the aberration on the sides were very noticeable. In that case I’d rather use a camera that’s over 4K and then crop it to cinemascope or crop the 4K video itself.
Would that sling bag fit a hohem isteady M6? If not, which bag to get, which also allows toting that tripod on the bottom?
Thank you very much for the video. Those are really accessories you need. But I think Smooth 5/5s would be a better option if you use ND filter with lenses and mic on a gimbal. OM 6 I think can even support all of that weight.
You are welcome! Yes, if you want to use the lenses including filter with your gimbal, then the zhiyun smooth 5s would be the better option :)
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻 I have now the iPhone 14 pro max too and made my first two test videos (handheld and without an app) and I am very satisfied with the final results 😅 best cinematic greetings from a small german TH-cam filmmaker 😂
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 Happy to hear that 👍🏻
I have a question. I just purchased a 14. Is there any benefits to using an ND filter in cinematic mode?
thank you very much
you are welcome!
I remember watching your comparison with the OM6 and the Shuyin 5.. In that video I believe you said something about the anamorphic and other lens ( I forgot the name ) being to heavy for the OM6 to handle. Is that true or am I misunderstanding? Because if it is, then counterweights would do the trick right?
Yes using just the lens would be too heavy for the OM6, however if you use counterweights, you can balance it out and make it work 👍🏻
Did you pick up all that sweet Sandmarc gear when you came to visit San Diego? That seems like where the US HQ is based....
Hi Paul! No, I had them before but yes that’s true they are based in the US. Should make a visit at their HQ ;)
Hi Bennet, I have an iPhone 14 pro and the Dji osmo 6 gimbal and noticed that the mounting clamp doesn’t hold the phone with my otter case because it is too wide. Would the sandmarc case be slim enough to fit into the clamp that holds it or do I just have to take the case on and off every time I use the gimbal?
The sandmarc case is more slim anf will work with the om6 however for the best performance I use it without the case :)
Wondering if Ip14pro + case + Lens.. can those be handled by OM6?
And another question, please design what should I buy for case , lens to match OM6. Many many thks bro
It can be handled but you will meed to purchase a counterweight. SANDMARC are great and they also come with a case.
Thank you so much for your fast response
Lot's of love from India.... Crazy information. taking videography to another level....
Thanks a ton

I have been trying to use the the DJI OM 6 with the iPhone 14 pro max but looks like the phone is too heavy … I do everything you show on your videos but still it is not working ….
Do still recommend buying the smaller phone right now? Planning on using it as may primary camera for videos. I'm using a previous max model and would handling the smaller phone be easier for camera tricks or is not that relevant? (Considering that large phone = large area to hold)
If you can go with the max version, then yes, as it has longer battery life (shooting video drains the battery quickly), lager screen (better to edit in mobile apps), and provide a bit more stability when shooting handheld because of the weight.
@@BenettGraezer Thanks!
Another informative video that really helps us avoid spending a small fortune on unnecessary gear we will never use. Your “seal of approval” means a lot! One thing… from watching your videos, it seems like you seldom keep your camera in a case. Am I missing something? Could you please comment? Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! No, I just don’t use a case whenever I film my videos, as I like the look of it. Off camera, I always have one on haha
@@BenettGraezer 👍🏻
Are these available for the iphone 13 pro as well?
Yea
How can connect with you??
Thanks for sharing. I need a new Osmo. I’m still using the first version.
You should!
We need more color grading course please 🙏 from basic
thanks, I will see what I can do :)
❤❤❤
Thank you!
Can you give a solution for iPhone 14 pro max weight. Too heavy to have extra lens/mic with a gimbal..
You can use the zhiyun smooth 5s with a heavier phone setup
@@BenettGraezer thank you sir
Hi. Can you please tell, how we can reduce the contrast of iPhone footage in fcpx.
Pull up the mid-tones a bit in the color wheels.
@@BenettGraezer thanks
Thst sling bag what is a brand ?
PeakDesign
What lights do you use for your videos?
For my talking head video I use the Aputure 120d mark ii
Thanks Benett, Tom.
is your anamorphic lense 1. 33X or 1.55X ?
1.33x
thank you. 🙏🏾
what's that handheld attached to your phone at 8:06?
It looks like a handle but there is none :)
@@BenettGraezer you are a genius lol
Hey, dude, I didn’t know you use sandmarc lens. I also have anamorphic one, but I’m interested if you have the same issue on your telephoto lens as I have on my anamorphic. The sandmarc design assumes mounting thread inside(!) the lens case. That means any filter or step-up ring will add a vignette when used with these lens. Even sandmarc pays attention on that fact on their anamorphic and ultra-wide lens web pages. So you always have to crop your footage on post. Really disappointing. Those lens cost as much as other vendors. Do you have the same thing on telephoto?
I haven’t experienced that with the telephoto lens. The anamorphic lens does have some vignetting in the corners so you yes you would have to crop in a bit every time which is unfortunate, but I do like the look of it and the subtle lens flare it produces.
Hi, I just bought the iPhone 14 pro and the Dji osmo 6 gimbal and noticed that the otter case doesn’t fit too well in the bracket holder. Is the sand arc case slim enough to fit nicely in the holder or do you have to go without a case when using the osmo 6?
@@rickbold9337 sandmarc standard case is slim enough, but it’s the worst case I’ve ever used. However had no chance to test “pro”one made of leather.
Btw I don’t have a gimbal, so can’t help)
Can I use my osmo mobile 6 with the sandmarc lenses? I remember you told me I can’t use the gimbal with the Sherpa system. Can I use it with the sandmarc lenses?
You can but you will need counterweights :)
@@BenettGraezer Oh. Sounds complicated.
You can get these counterweights on amazon for cheap and then screw it on the roll axis motor. Otherwise the Zhiyun Smooth 5s is a great option am can handle sandmarc lenses
@@BenettGraezer I already have the Osmo Mobile 6. So I'll try finding counter weights. One more question. When I take videos in the DJI app, it saves in HEVC format. But when I take videos in the native iPhone app, it takes videos in H.264 format. My question is, which format is suitable for later editing in third party apps like filmic pro? Also, imovies is good for beginners? (I prefer taking videos in DJI app as I'm at a very beginner level).
If you edit on a your iPhone it doesn’t matter that much, you can edit in both formats. Filmic Pro is only a video recording app not an editing program. Yes imovie is a great beginners editing app to get stared :)
why sandmarc lenses over the beast grip lenses?
It’s more convenient to bring along and they are less expensive
Thanks for your review.
Sandmarc lenses are not as good as Beastgrip lenses. I had one. The Sandmarc tele lens was mediocre when compared to the Beastgrip tele lens. I sent the Sandmarc lens back and do not recommend it to anyone. If you the viewer are looking for really good lenses then get Beastgrip or wait for the Shiftcam Ultra that will be released in August.
Moreover, Sandmarc's case provides much less protection than other cases in the market or cages such as Beastgrip and Smallrig. Which will also allow the use of on-camera shotguns which are not mentioned in the review despite the fact that quite often they will be more versatile than lavaliere mics.
The tele lens is not much of a tele lens despite the name. I use it for interviews and things that are close. I would never use them to shoot far away trees, for example. For that, it's much better to use the iPhone 14 Pro's own tele lenses which can go farther whilst preserving the quality of the image.
The Sandmarc tripod, like all tripods with that type of lock, is a bit of a hassle to assemble and it is slower than tripods with lever locks. There are many tripods out there which are much better than Sandmarc and are of the same small size.
The DJI mic has too much latency and also interference problems on the top of being noisy. Get Picogear or Rode. Even mics such as the Godox Move link 2 are likely to be better than the dji.
This review looks like a window dressing of Sandmarc, which produces second class products when compared to Beastgrip or Shiftcam. Freewell and Polar Pro are also better but they don't have tele lenses.
Those clips for lenses are amateurish . They just don't work properly. They might be "okay" with filters but never use them with a lens if you are any serious about your shooting.
This review looks like a window dressing of Sandmarc, which produces second class products when compared to Beastgrip or Shiftcam. Freewell and Polar Pro are also better than Sandmarc but they don't have tele lenses.
One thing i dislike about Anamorphic lenses is that unless one has a specific case for their phone, the clips are never a good solution. I have tried and even the slightest movement makes the footage look bad. Clips are great for VND and other filters though.
good point, yes it’s definitely best to use a case when moving around unsless it’s a static shot.
why is it "must have" if it's only to enhance the footage?
These accessoires are hear to improve your footage and the once I mentioned are worth investing in as they make a difference in the quatliy of your mobile video. You can of course film everthing using just your phone, however if you want to mobile filmmaking seriously it’s advaciable to look into the gear to help get the shots you need :)
All these gadgets take away the versatility of using your phone as a camera, yes they add some steadiness etc but the point of the phone is ease and readability. If I wanted all singing dancing gadgets for a camera I’d a decent dslr. Keep it simple keep it fun or get a professional setup folks
