She totally claims it! “Ya, I’m eating them. They’re actually really sweet.” Buggy you are the highlight of my day, thank you! ☺️
Ya Buggy, they are really sweet! 🥰🤗👏☀️😄🙏
D
That was such a perfect moment. I laughed right out loud!😂
@@karenm5681 it sure was!
Blueberries love coffee grounds. And the bird's and bug's don't. It's a win win.
African violets like grounds too! (tip from my dearly departed sister Liz who, were she still with us would def be a Hollar fan)! TY Hollars(and Bret in particular) for the best baby sister name in the world, imho)!! Meg...that departing sunset scene/music was tops of a great video!!
Do do gardenias!
@@renebyers6153 most gardenias smell better n' do do...unless freshly fartilized with do do....just sayin'.....
My mom always put coffee grouds for plants that like acidic soil.
"It's raining Piggies, and Cats, and Dogs!" 🐖🐈🐕 - Definitely a future t-shirt concept! 😁
Little Elizabeth is so cute! Thank Ya'll for sharing part of your life with us. God Bless You All!
I wonder how many thousands of people tell their plants to ‘ GROW’ now!? Buggy sure has planted that in our minds from the way she does it so adorably!
Meg! You look fantastic! You have bounced back from the pregnancy so quickly!
I just loved seeing little mini Hollar stretching her little arms and legs. Second mini Hollar just knows that blueberries are not only a superfood but “actually very sweet”.
Ben... Could you imagine putting in 60/70 hours a week working for the "Man"?? You've listened and followed the Holy spirt and have been richly blessed my brother!
Amen 🙏🕊🕊
LOL Buggy just eats everything she picks!!!! Love her!!!
Your channel is refreshing. Despite your following & views, you’ve remained down to Earth. So many others haven’t, and it’s probably why so many stay loyal to you.
Good evening, Hollars! Buggie has a sophisticated vocabulary for her age. Obviously she is very intelligent. The boys have grown so much since y’all moved here. Love the Hollars!
Buggie has patient parents, and siblings who carry on conversations with her. Conversations are very important in that first 3 years of brain development.
Ben, on the FRIDAY SHOPTALK
✋️ I raised my hand. Watched all 50. GOD BLESS YOU.
I PRAY FOR 🙏 EACH OF YOU .
Enjoy the jars of blueberry jam Meg.
SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
I was thinking that too! Her vocabulary is so good :)
A friend planted blueberries in tight rows in the shape of a rectangle. By the time they were about four foot high she covered them with large netting that allowed the birds to reach in with their heads to get get their share and sent the grand kids under the net to harvest the "people" percentage. As it grew even the adults could help. She would get gallons and gallons every year and the bird droppings on the cars were purple for the whole season.
It is really cool that Brett picked Elizabeth's name because to me she favors him ❤ ❤ love watching the Fam. Thanks Ben
What beautiful children you have and they are fed so well. What great parents you are!
I think that’s called fire blight. Where it looks like it was burned. It’s contagious to the rest of the plant and the other trees in the orchard. Cut way down where the good part still is (if it’s on a branch) and dispose of it, then clean your tools and your hands before touching anything else out there.
I love seeing Meg being waited on. So glad you guys are taking good care of Mom.
Brett needs to give a master class in making potato chips. Mine never come out looking as delicious as his. 😢
Seconded.
Beautiful family! And the addition of Elizabeth Rose is the icing on the cake! She's just gorgeous!
Welcome back Hollars glad y’all could bless us with another day and life of the Hollars
Art could tell you. He just cut a branch off of one of his apple trees at the farm. Something fire. He said, "Be careful to wash your hands if you handle it, because you can spread it to the other apple trees." This is in reference to the apple tree that looked burned up and red.
Ben, Little Mountain Ranch has been putting Rhubarb & Comfrey under her fruit trees. When the Rhubarb leaves turn brown, she layers them on the ground around its trunk. It is a Bio dynamic regulator & their leaves & roots feed the trees. FYI. ALL her trees are fruiting incredibly. Food for thought. No pun intended. Lol God is good. ❤❤❤
Buggy was eating in every clip she was in today. So funny. I don't know what happened to them as she's filling her little mouth. Such a precious little girl. Elizabeth is growing so fast. Cut down on the fertilizer. She's so precious. Yall make great kids.
"I don't know" was my best friend when I was Buggie's age!!! 😂🤣 😅
The only family on TH-cam that uses the right amount of salt in food ❤
Everyone else have a totally false impression about it being unhealthy
when it in reality is essential to our over all health ,both physically and mentally .
Our bodies and brain need salt for all basic functions !
I agree & Im a proponent of healthy salts but My tastebuds cant stand much. Ive had to return my food (restaurant & fast food) bc they were oversalted. Im probably a weirdo, bc my SIL used to keep salt on the back of her hand & every 3min, would lick a little! She also sweated a lot lol.
I'm definitely a "saltaholic"! I'm one of those people who salts everything before I taste it! My family has always fussed at me saying it would cause me to have high blood pressure, though my BP is always way low. So I asked my heart doctor (because of a heart murmur I've had a cardiologist since my early 20s) about it. He said salt doesn't cause high blood pressure; hypertension causes high blood pressure. So he said, as long as I have a low blood pressure, to salt away! I'm now 70 yrs old and still have low blood pressure, so salt hasn't hurt me! Our bodies need sodium to function properly.
Meg...You don't even look like you had a baby. You look wonderful
"Tiny person" discussions are so cool. The Hollar family is truly blessed. Mahalo for sharing. With Aloha...
Zinnia are my favorite flower also and so easy to start by seed. I have over 100 that I started this year. Here is a tip if you cut off the 1st flower before it blooms right when it starts to flower then it will double your flowering and make your giant more bush like.
Thank you for that tip about zinnias!!! I will always remember to do that from now on!!!!
There are a few native bird that you can attract by building certain bird houses. They will help keep the crows and hawks away.
Zinnia's are a favorite here as well. I dead head them, and dry the head in brown paper bags for seeds. Another flower that is planted yearly here, cosmos of various colors. Those are some lovely blueberries. They'll make amazing jam/jelly, or delicious muffins.
Hugs to your family.
Zinnias are such happy flowers.
I have planted all semi dwarf fruit trees in my orchard. To harvest my top fruit now, I park my pickup truck next to the tree. From the safety of the pickup bed, I can harvest using a pole picker without worrying of falling off a ladder. Sweet!
What types of fruits?
Yall are the most amazing, wonderful, talented, beautiful people. It is an enormous treat to check in with all of you. That new baby is the most precious thing on TH-cam except for all the other precious things seated around your table.. I love Ben just strolling casually around the property and sharing his vast horticulture knowledge and his easy and effective tips and tricks. Keep Rocking.
I freeze my strawberries until i have enough for my freezer jam.
My daughters in- laws put up a net high up over all there fruit trees and berries to keep the birds away.
Elizabeth is so adorable and just waking up looking at daddy, sweet
Have a great weekend.
Blessings to you all. 😊🇺🇲
I’m so happy that Meg and baby are doing well. God bless.
My favorite channel of all. I really miss daily postings but I understand. I just love your lifestyle. Hard working, unpretentious, respectful, I could go on and on. Your baby girl is beautiful and so is the not so baby girl. I look forward to all the content. Thanks for all you share with us. God bless.
The orchard is beautiful.
Blueberry jam sounds delicious.
It was good to see you all again.
It does sound delicious. Hope Meg does a video and gives the recipe 😃.
Brett, Please give us a lesson on your tater chips. They are the best looking homemade ones I have ever seen. Please. Happy baby.
I look forward to seeing y’all’s videos. Y’all are very blessed to be such a close family!!!
Living the dream with you vicariously
Thanks for sharing bits of your lives! It’s heartwarming to see your beautiful family living a wonderful life! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦
Ha!! I just picked blueberries from my bushes for the first time this season, a few hours ago!!
Also, it's super easy to collect and disperse seeds from zinnias. Just let some of the flower heads go all the way brown, pull the dead heads apart to get the seeds. Either save them or sprinkle them in the wind - Mother Nature will do the rest! You'll never have to buy from a nursery again (way more expensive that way anyway). Buy packs of seeds, at the very least.
My mom loved zinnias. She use to cut the heads off the plant at the end of the season, put them in a paper bag and put them in a closet. In the spring she would just spread them in her flower bed, lightly rake and they would take off.
I love it when you say, "Grow!!!". I do the same thing.
My youngest is now 14 and hearing Buggy's little voice reminds me of my daughter when she was that age with that same high-pitched sweet little voice. Cherish this time!
Put copper wire or pre 1963 pennies in your strawberry beds. Slugs hate the copper. Danny King talks about that.
Pennies dated before 1982 were made of copper (technically, 95% copper and 5% zinc).
Pennies dated after 1982 were made of zinc (technically, 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper).
Spin-off to copper, I’ve had amazing results with Electroculture, can’t wait for the Hollars to experiment with it.
The coneflowers are a great start to Megs herb garden, hint hint! ❤ Alberta Canada!
Ben, your property is maturing with life. Fruit tree's, animals, gardens and you're getting to design your property to fit your family. I love how you spend your time with your family. It was your dream. Now it's happening!
💜✨️HAPPINESS IS THE HOLLARS HOMESTEAD VIDEOS. DIVINE LOVE & BLESSINGS TO YALL✨️💜
You are a very good husband really helping Meg it feels my heart with joy ❤❤❤❤❤
I LOVE blueberries. Have had blueberry bushes all my life. I Learned to let the harvest stay on the kitchen table or counter, not in the heat, for a day or so before doing anything with them. The ones that are a bit to green will ripen in just a day or so. Of course, you might have to hide them to keep little fingers out of your harvest. We net them with many bright, fun colors of cheap tule net from the fabric store & some clothes pins. Fold it up & store for the next year & it lasts for many years. Our grandkids favorite is blueberry/peach jam. 😊
Nana was a homesteader, and had a huge blueberry patch. We’d go pick for her. She took coffee ❤Cans, and clothesline rope so we could hang them around our necks. She made jam and sold it out in front of her house in a little stand.
When your zinnias are done blooming wait till they turn brown then cut the flower heads and put them in a paper bag for next year, at the end of every petal is a seed so you can have tons of your own seeds, it’s awesome, I love zinnias also, it’s a wonderful splash of color, they are a cut and come again flower, I encourage you to look them up on line and learn more about them.
Before you know it she'll be out there picking those strawberries and blueberries like everyone else😊
I love the red gladiolus flower on your kitchen island!
I have slugs like crazy this year ! It has to be the rain !
The littles love those blueberries. Won't be long and another one will be helping "harvest" the berries. Have a good day Hollar family. 😊
Hey sweet little baby! Oh my goodness...so precious!
I love ALL The Hollar Homestead videos!
Your garden looks wonderful and the blueberries. Not to mention how cute buggy is eating all those blueberries. That baby is absolutely precious. You have such a wonderful wonderful family. We love the journey that we get to go with you on.
That ending view of sky -beautiful.
❤ Im with Meg, Blueberry jam is my #1 favorite 😋
Ben, everytime you speak of desert life in California, i smile because i grew up in Porterville, just an hour fromcyou and Meg. Yes, sinking in the hot asphalt street, barefooted in summer, sweltering heat. No rain and very dry grass and everything. I moved to Nor Cal ( still crap politics) but a bit cooler. Id ❤ LOVE to be where you guys are, summer rains, damp earth and singing birds everywhere. I bet you don't even hear them unless you sit still with so much going on. I stand with eyes clised to "listen" to Gods free music❤❤
Baby is so tiny and chubby, Meg yiu are looking amazing as always. Love ya all❤❤
Another awesome day on the Hollar Family Homestead! Blessings on each one of you and on your 2024 growing season! 🌻🐛Carolyn in Ohio 🌿💚💕
Y’all are such a great team! 🙌🏽💚
Good evening beautiful hollars
Buggy, everything I planted in my garden this year, I told to grow! It's working, Buggy vibes rock!
I put raked up oak leaves to mulch my strawberries last fall and have had no rollie pollie or any other bugs get the strawberries this year. They popped up huge throughout the beds and in the ground. Be blessed ❤🌿
We are blessed with getting to see and enjoy buggie, she's a real treat and it's amazing how much the boys have grown.....just like WEEDS! Thanks for sharing them with us.
So nice to see a new video
Blessings 💓
You can actually put egg shells or pine needles in your strawberry patch to keep the slugs out the egg shells and pine needles will cut the slugs skin .
Love your channel. Thanks for a peak at the little one. She is a doll. Buggy seems a little older than 3. I loved it when she said thank you dada when you gave her the burger. The small things that make my heart smile. 🥰 I like all the flowers you are planting. Garden is coming right along. I want to see how well your tomatoes do this year. Mater sandwiches are the best. 👍🥰🙋🏻♀️
She will be 4 in August...
I like the turkey burgers I buy in the store. They’re seasoned. The baby is so adorable. As soon as I see you have posted a video I have to watch it. Love your family. You have some amazing children. So polite and willing to help you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good evening family
Love watching your videos guys you put a big smile on my face 🌷buggies really sweet , Ben Meg you have a beautiful baby girl gorgeous❤
If you do want the bed to be permanent strawberries you can, as a policy, move about half the runners and just disconnect the other half form the mother once they've rooted in. Just my 2 cents.
Your little one is so beautiful. May you be blessed
Sweet little sleepy peanut. Loving the flower planting updates.
I bet all of your subscribers would love to sit at your dinner table. I for one would...lol. The food you make always looks so good. Thank you for your videos. I always look forward to them.❤❤❤
It’s so good seeing you all again and in the garden, baby and mummy they are wonderful ❤
Seeing your flat grill reminded me of a video, where a guy put a couple good tablespoons of bacon grease on his griddle poured some popcorn seeds on and covered with stainless steel bowl, then scooped up popcorn! Thought the kids might like it
We had all different fruits at our last farm and we hung old CD's and/ or disposable pie tins. We made sure they were free-wheeling so they were a deterrent to the birds!
Beautiful blueberries! Love Jack's haircut. Very handsome. Aww, sweet Elizabeth.
I had the same experience, Ben, with heat exhaustion. It happened when I was about 10 years old, and I haven't been able to take heat (especially with humidity) since. Thanks for sharing!
We pick ours, pick them clean, do not rinse (the skins will be tough), dump them in an airtight container BUT…Put a pulled tight layer of Saran (plastic) Wrap over the top of the container…then put on the lid. They will roll out of the container when you are ready to use them. Any leftover moisture will wick up to the plastic wrap. That way you do not need to freeze on the sheet pan.
We freeze 15 gallons a year that my husband picks at an organic blueberry farm.😃
I don’t wash the berries before I freeze them. They are better if you freeze them before putting water on them and they won’t clump. Then when you are ready to use them, wash them under running water, which thaws them. Takes out a step in labor! I grew up in rural NC and really enjoy your channel!
Nova Scotia is great for blue berries. In my childhood, I can remember being kicked outdoors with a bucket. Because there were so many WILD blueberry bushes everywhere. Delicious!
I have a property just a few minutes from Oxford, Blueberry Capital of Canada
Thank yall for sharing your family with us ❤
The finches love the zinnia seeds. They get right on mine and pull the seeds out. Sometimes that will deplete your next seasons crop. They are one of my favorites!❤ The baby is precious!!
Blueberries and burgers! Hello Elizabeth!
Thank you for another wonderful glimpse of your beautiful life.
We love turkey burgers like this:
Mediterranean style
Feta, cooked spinach, italian seasoning, salt and pepper
Then make tiziki sauce and serve with that
Ben, I sweat like you do. I wear a Duluth Trading brand absorbent bandana around my neck so I can dry my face and get the sweat out of my eyes. It also saves my shirt for a while. I'm so sorry for you; I do understand this heat and humidity... I'm in the north part of central Georgia. I'm also a garden addict. I love your sweet family. God bless.
my daughter gifted me a hori hori knife for Christmas. My new favorite garden tool.
So good to see you. Thanks very much for the visit with you all on your homestead. Smiles! Happy Days! ☀️😄👏🥰🤗🙏
I make turkey burgers with celery onions apples and poultry seasoning and make cranberry sauce mixed with mayo as the sauce they are so good
Hi guys 👋
So I wore your shirt yesterday. Lots of people read it with a smile. “GOOD MORNING BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE “🌱💚
Some of them have done really good and the food Forest and everything looking good. We got a lot of work you me and everybody else that’s growing. ..🌱🌱
Maybe put some of the flowers in Megs garden, just to get it started !❤❤😊
Poor Meg , will she ever get her herb garden started?!❤
Right. And will the house extension ever get done already... 😅
I think a new Baby is a good reason for the delay .😊
I want to thank you again for sharing such a personal part of the family life with the world 🥰 I am humbled by your videos…. Watching the kids grow so big , then Buggy & now another precious bundle of joy. And that little stretch while waking up…. well that just brought back many memories 😊
This family captured my heart back in Bakersfield Ca & I’m hooked 🙂🥰. I ❤ all of you 💖💖👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Ahh…I wondered when they mentioned the Central Valley if they were from Bakersfield. Hot country to be sure!
@@Vieweratlarge
Agree on that 🔥🔥 I lived in the valley about 10 yrs & I swear the sun was so close one could reach up & touch it 💥🔥🥵🤪👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Add outdoor cooking shelter to your list. Lol. Love you guys!
Could make one out of cedar tree poles in that area. No need for fancy high priced wood and such. Lean to roof and three walls covered with corrugated tin. Shame that he missed all those cedar trees that Jason from sow the land took out, but I bet he has some on his property that could work for the cause. We did not even concrete the poles in, just repacked the dirt around them and they would last for very long time. Just don't peal the bark below grade to help keep them longer. Used about five inch for poles and two to three inch for nailers for the tin.
In that area they might be called junipers but around here they call them red cedar. Also heard them as aromatic cedar in Tennessee at times.
Hello, what a lovely video. Thank you for sharing, have a wonderful evening!
Thanks for another great family video! God bless!
Just want you to know... that you are contagious... You've got us all saying "Grow" to anything and everything... And we are senior citizens..! and "Thank You" for the cameo of the ladies, Millie and Sketch.
