It depends on how much light is reflected and if it's specular reflection. I would probably ise safety glasses whenever burning with lasers over 700 mw or 1W.
I had a 5 watt blue but it broke 😒 I now have a 3 watt blue and a sanwu 1.2 525 and I'm waiting on a 200mw 650 I lived an entire year with no electricity and I would light the fire in my fireplace with the 5 watt blue to heat bath water for light and to cook and for heat during the winter your 1 watt blue laser should easily light a fire get a match or a toothpick hold the laser vertically and light it from the bottom.😉 And I have had many other lasers not as powerful though. My 3X beam expander from sanwu literally not even one minute came in my wife just handed to me can't wait to try it out!!!
I'm waiting until my credit card (7-11 days 🙄) to buy the 800mW 445nm pocket laser. Then I'll be purchasing another with the welcome bonus. I'm hoping nothing happens and Sanwu will continue to sell in a month.

You mean 405 nm? There is a Video with a 1,6 Watt 405nm Laser on TH-cam from Sanwu, but its one with a bigger Host. Pocket version goes up until 500 mW.
Good demo mate but sure wish you were wearing saftey specks . Even reflected light from a class 4 can burn hole in your retina

Heck yeah! I love that laser. It is very powerful for a small as it is! Just make sure to get the right battery and to insert it the correct way. 😄
