I’m glad to see the Kiseki series getting the attention its deserves, even if it through anime.
I would totally watch a full series of the Trails of Cold Steel story arc, featuring Rean and co.
I disagree the trails series only works in game form. Unless the anime is working off of original content

It'd be best if they start at the beginning with the first Trails in the Sky, imo. That being said, a full adaption of the series, or even any of the individual arcs, would probably have to be really long in order to properly tell the story. I'd love to see it happen someday, but if it does happen it likely won't be for a long time due to how major an undertaking it would be. One can dream though!
@@suddenthorn7643 Trails would work perfectly as an anime if, and only if, they took their time. Trails is not a story that can be rushed. And for heaven's sake: Start with Trails in the Sky, not Cold Steel. Also, give the anime at least 2 seasons of 2 Cour (48+ episodes) per game.
I know that would be too much for half the viewers, as they have the attention span of a goldfish. It also wouldn't be the next Attack on Titan or Chainsaw Man, so they wouldn't be part of the target audience anyway, especially if it starts with Sky as a slow burner. Still, the anime should definitely stay in the proper order for world building. That being said, Cold Steel is by far the worst arc.
@@RyudoFanel Not sure how stating the Erebonia Arc is the "worst" Arc is relevant, which it isn't, but Trails in a complete anime format simply wouldn't not work.
While there is truth to what you said regarding how it should be handled, what you're asking for isn't realistic, since it would take a significant amount of time, along with the multitude of other decisions in the process that would have to be made (the studio for instance).
It's best if Trails remains in a video game format, with perhaps incorporating really well animated cutscenes with the signature Kiseki flair.

Excited to see this, always hoped we'd actually get more info on the events of the Northern War beyond it being something that led to Rean losing control of his powers between 2 and 3.

Not gonna lie. Im really excited for this. And the portrayal of Rean/Valimar being a looming threat is pretty cool. Its not everyday where you see this POV where fighting against the Ashen Chevalier is a nigh inevitability in the eyes of the politicians and soldiers.
We finally get to see what happens in North Ambria in between CS 2&3
Well we know how that all turns out. Rean Orge's out and demolishes everyone (but miraculously no casualties) after all the stress gets to him.

Story wise its not unlikely that Rean, Sera, Altina, Aurelia Le Guin and General Bardias have some role to play, since they were part of the North Ambria Annexation wich played betweenTrails of Cold Steel 2 and 3. Depends on how much this show plays in North Ambria and Erebonia.
I'm betting Rean, Altina and Aurelia will surely show up.

Yeah she’s very tough so I’m surprised her side lost the Northern War when Rean isn’t even a challenge to her.
I can't wait to watch this since Cold Steel 3 mentioned this conflict but did not elaborate on what happened during the conflict we only know the aftermath.

I'm guessing this story is referring the inbetween events in CS2 and CS3. So potentially at the end Rean/Valimar, Sara, Claire, and Altina could show up.

They should have. I heard somewhere that the Northern War had considerations of becoming a actual title.
Kinda doubt that unless this anime will somehow boom and falcom will have motivation. They have too much on their plate working on next big Ys game and probably final part of Van trilogy (I think they want to release it next year and then have more time for next big buildup... probably final big arc...). Dunno how they would make another game about North Ambria war etc... Not gonna lie I would love it but it just seem not too promising to happen... and btw I hope we will witness more characters in this upcoming anime like probably Aurelia and Bardias.
It goes both ways lol I keep saying they should make an anime of one of the video game arcs. Now we get an original anime and we say they should make it into one of the video game arcs

Seeing a great relatively niche game series like Trails get animated, even though it's technically its own story, is just so damn cool.
Edit: Does anyone know if this will be considered Canon? I'd imagine it's not but ya never know with Kiseki. I guess it is called Trails of Cold Steel now that I think about it so it probably is.

The anime comes from Falcom and tells the story between Cold Steel 2 and 3, which was hinted at several times in the game. So yeah, I guess we can consider it canon.

Yes it's canon, why would it not be? It's the Northern War. You should expect mostly everything Kiseki to be canon.
The exceptions being: Akatsuki, which technically is "canon", just to it's own branched off timeline (there really isn't much reason it couldn't be, since it occurs during Trails to Azure's Intermission) and Nayuta, which is considered ambiguous since no direct date is referenced, but with its eventual sequel, we could see a bridged connection.

Well, if you want to know more about the MC, and how he got there. This takes place in the middle of cold steel 2 into 3, it's an arc that is mention in the games but we didn't get to see what happened.

This anime takes place between after cold steel 2 and before cold steel 3
Trails is a single continuity. The Cold Steel arc is over but the story of the same universe continues.
How is it interesting timing? And the Erebonia Arc (Cold Steel Series) just ended two years ago with Trails into Reverie. It hasn't been that long, like at all.
I consider Reverie part of the cold steel series and it's barely coming out to the west next summer so the timing is perfect for this anime.

The Northern War is such a interesting and very ambiguous time period in the Kiseki/Trails timeline, since everything up until this point has been fairly vague and the only real mentioned events were of Rean going berserk, Sara and Altina backing Rean up during his recon, and Le Guin absolutely dominating the War without fail.
I absolutely excited for anything Kiseki, but the Northern War I'm more so intrigued than anything else. Since at one point supposedly the NW was supposed to be a game sequel to Cold Steel 2, sort of a 2.5 between CS2 and CS3.
Seriously! Like how they seem to be painting rean as a villian although Sara says his actions saved countless lives and that he's upset he couldn't stop the annexation. So I'm really excited to see how they go about this

I think probably money and opportunity to have this anime made. Falcom is kinda small and their budget is limited i think... so getting studio interested to make anime is probably easier now when after cold steel 3, 4 the series got more attention.

It's a side story based on an event that affects the game's protagonist. This also spoils the ending of the 2nd game pretty openly.

Actually it does have to do with the game, it takes after cold steel 2 but before cold steel 3. Basically, this shows what happens in North Ambria between those two games.

@@artturisiikanen3843 It is good thing in my opinion. Adaptations of games are usually pretty bad. Getting glimpse on what happened during North Ambrian war, only briefly mentioned in games (but kinda important to overall Erebonia arc)... I think it is the best thing they could do. Trails games are long and full of dialogue. Putting it into anime would make it another 5/10 Scarlet Nexus disaster. More freedom and new story that will still be canon and can satisfy newcomers since it will be new story and players alike since it will answer some of their questions... brilliant move.

I did say that this anime is a bridge between after cold steel 2 and before cold steel 3, showing the war that is happening in North Ambria from a different perspective. I have played the games too and know this already

@@jellalfernandes9820 CS3 was good until CS4 ruined most of its setup. The series is fine after CS4 though. Reverie/Kuro 1 were well received.
