@@PrOz_Frosty why call him little guy? That's mean for no reason. Animation is different from the art style and yes there are Animations that came out in the '80s that were just as fluent if not more so. What is much better today is compositing and colour variety.

in the first ep you can see like a dozen or so animation errors. One of which the most obvious was when he put his hands on a fallen soldiers eyes and the eyes clearly close before even gets close to his face 😂

@@sonfoku73 Go check some of the videos of The Exploring Series channel, many of the SCP verses and proposals are basically anime in written format, indeed, most SCP fans are relatively young people who love their pop culture.

This donghua is from 2020 and the original Chinese name is 民调局异闻录 Mindiao Ju Yi Wen Lu.
Now this is one I am looking forward to seeing! If the animation and soundtrack are as good as preview, it's going to be amazing.

You need to get married with a prenup and after 7 years you can learn something about how life works. US courts an litigators throw out ANYTHING they can get away with, inlcuding your silly enthusiastic consent vouchers. The whole liberal law system up to the jury duty is just a complicated system of entrapment scams, trying to convince as many people as possibe to do "crime" in the good faith they'll get away with it, and so every offense has ridiculous pathways to litigation.
And even more ridiculous ways to make exceptions for them so the ones caught are caught by surprise, having assumed that no jury would convict them. And then, people get canceled for LITERALLY legal stuff for much bigger damages than any real court could levy.
Nope it is pretty much a Chinese unit stumbles upon ancient temple and end up fighting the chinese version of hell or a separate world. (its a chinese novel/Donghua or manhwa or what evs.)

@@thejoker5755 Some examples would be good because almost every season had some form of new comers bringing in new hype mixed in with highly anticipated returning seasons and sleepers that are deserving of praise but didn't/ or hasn't gotten the spotlight
I’m curious why everyone having tiny knives still manages to be so cool to me.
Allows for cheaper animation. And, you see more of the body/face reacting, which helps with realism/impact. Delivering the power/momentum in a weapon strike is often done with sound, but the visual, and having the character move/flinch when hit, is what 'sells' the hit. Hence, speed lines or sparks, bulging muscle for a frame, having a blurred frame, etc.
The show emphasises style, so they will add in cheaper fight visual tweaks, but there's also a 'effects' budget and CG/3D camera work, so they likely have a "style" budget for each key scene too, where they mix 3D and 2D for impact/flare, destroying walls, having flowing hair, etc. You'll probably notice the visual and style drop-off between dialogue and fights, but that's often intended too. Close combat and parry/block movement, can reuse some of the same background/foreground shots. And, you get to see the character's face which allows for a longer reuse if the character is talking during the fight.
Especially because rendering chaotic fight choreography plus the camera / character motion can take months for a dynamic scene. Even more if you need to fix/change things or edit/cut the scenes. Lots of shortcuts can be taken, i.e. rendering a twisting/flowing camera, then painting/illustrating over the top of the 3D.
Whereas, a dynamic sword fight with a staff, spear or long sword tends to require animating the whole body/bodies, the fight motion and camera motion/panning to capture a dynamic fight becomes the work of multiple teams. This tends to soak up the budget of a lot of people to plan, stage, render and redraw scenes, the 2m-5m fight could take 15x longer than the rest of the show to make.
And if it's too far away, you lose a lot of character reactions being too far away for people to notice subtle emotions and focus/eye movements, especially switching from mid-closeup to wide shots where multiple people are in the room.
I literally watched this a few days ago and now it's coming on crunchyroll! I loved it. Great for chinese anime standards(half of them look like animated webtoons..)

@@arisxipo Personally, I agree with you. I was promised an anime that was sparkly, fresh and exciting, and what I got with Chainsaw Man was a bit lackluster. I have seen a lot of anime over the last few decades and the majority of them have more successfully grabbed my attention from the very beginning than Chainsaw man did. I hope that it will get better as it goes deeper. I honestly have no reason to like and root for the main characters either. Any good qualities are dulled out not long after they are given. I am more excited to watch an anime about middle aged men forming a boys band than I am Chainsaw man.
I was trying to figure out why the characters of Bureau of Paranormal Investigation looked so familiar and after reading your comment and checking I realized that I already seen it. Usually when Crunchyroll has a new show it is usually brand new never seen before in public. After rewatching it I do agree with you that Bureau of Paranormal Investigation is much more thrilling.
Although, many donghua are based off of webtoons, so it is understandable that they look that way.

Wow, Chinese studios are doing a great job with their visuals, this trailer reminded me of Wit Studio.
This looks like a 2012 anime with a few characters from the 80's with the budget of 2040

Edit: Ok, just watched the 1st episode. Definitely a keeper this one. Excellent animation and good pacing so far. The only downside for me is that it's in Chinese, which means I have to fully rely on the subs unlike Japanese, which I can generally follow.
Chinese anime might Lowkey overtake Japanese anime, Chinese anime so far have some crazy stories and amazing animation whilst japan has an chronic quality shortage and animation shortage
@@boogus1670 nah I don't think so maybe I'm hating but I've read at least 20 wuxia and the problem is they're all the same. Edgy R@pey mc started weak and cultivates himself to be stronger. Than flexes financially spiritually and physically on everyone for the rest of the story. To be fair if ur around 17 years old maybe these types of stories do be hitting but at this point wuxia has made me truly appreciate the variety and absurdity that jp LNs and anime have.

@@boogus1670 oaky i hope u understand a lot of the popular wuxia are 1000+ chapters so for the animes it takes a while to reach that repetitiveness. But who knows maybe u'll like it. Just saying that I don't think chinese anime will ever thrive more than japanese due to a lack of variety in storytelling

Considering there's enough finished animation to make a 2 minute trailer that doesn't even hint at what it's actually about, I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Yall gonna be massively dissapointed. This trailer features a lot of nice looking effects, but in terms of actual animation quality, its pretty average. Theres like two good scenes in there, which will probably be like 4 nice scenes in the actual product. The trailer just has "im trying to distract from my subpar animation" written all over it.

The trailer could have just been 0:45 and i would be interested. XD I feel like there's going to be a lot of power and cool moments, but i'm a bit afraid of how they will tie the story. This feels like one of those shows that has great ideas but doesn't really know how to explore them.

Is Lord of the Mysteries from a Chinese author? I would love if they animated The Legendary Mechanic. The world building and story in this series are insane as of where I'm at. Unfortunately the protagonist is way too perfect.
Other isekai masterpieces are Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (Korean), The Beginning After the End (American/Korean or Japanese), Supreme Magus (idk). SM could be pretty awsome, because many parts could be cut down considerably. ORV and TBATE don't really need justification.
@@officialnoonon I am already satisfied with ORV and TBAtE manhwa, LM was dropped after few hundred chapter. After reading Lord of Mysteries I couldn't read anything without comparing the two, I had to stop reading for some time. Only thing I think that comes close to LotM is Revered Insanity. I am also pretty sure LotM and RI will never be animated by Chinese associated companies.

I honestly love the use of computers more and more these days. I've heard people pushing back against it but honestly this right here is a great mixture of old cartoon style and this new graphics style together. More of this would be nice across the board

I don't know what it is, but I can easily detect Chinese anime when I see one. There is just something about their character art style and the use of lines and shadows or the face art style that feels really different than that of Japanese.
