Kid may not have been able to stack up to Redhair. But that vision showed us that if his attack had went off, then it could have done some serious damage lucky enough he was able to see the future in time before a tragedy could strike. And how different he was from 2 of his former peers in the Yonko They wouldn't have cared less if somebody wiped out half of their armada like that, but he definitely was another story and they weren't even people who probably weren't that close to him, but he still went out of his way to save them.

Whenever we get one of these episodes where the animation pops off like this and the scenes look insane is thanks to not only Akihiro Ota (aka Vincent Chnasard) and director Megumi Ishitani. All of the crazy scenes during Wano and now egghead (including the opening) is basically Ishitani's incredible storyboarding brought to life by Ota's top tier animation. She has the vision, he brings it to life.
That fact that Kid has the power to be able to potentially destroy a fleet of ships, shows that Shanks saw Kid as a threat that needed to be taken care of quickly to prevent casualties to his crew.

I love how Oda wrote Shanks, though he is one of the strongest characters in the series, he still takes Kidd seriously even though he already beat him once. The way he acted quickly to eliminate the threat with brute strength and haki is what makes him one of the best characters to root for in the series. I love this scene and the chapter gave me goosebumps.

To clarify: Shanks future sight saw the cannon coming right at him. His fleet got destroyed regardless, he wasnt expecting something so instantly devastating from Kidd. So he narrowly avoided his death here.

To clarify: Shanks future sight saw the cannon coming right at him. His fleet got destroyed regardless, he wasnt expecting something so instantly devastating from Kidd. So he narrowly avoided his death here.
