The knife and shotgun work different for clients vs hosts. Host Knives have a 0.4s or so cooldown between being able to damage, Clients knives do not and are as fast as you can click Host shotguns do 5 damage up close. Client shotguns do 2x or 3x up close, making giants take 2 shots to kill and butlers 1shot instead of 2 (they have 8hp). Also you can kill thumpers and spiders with the knife, however, they have giant "armored zones" ontop of their hitboxes. If you turn on colliders you will see 2 boxes, the top box is the HURTbox, and for whatever reason, uniquely to knives, if you hit the hurtbox it cancels out your hit and acts like armor. This is why you couldn't kill it by crouching ontop of it. You can kill them by crouching and attacking their SIDES because the hurtbox won't be in the way of the hitbox this way. This is rather difficult and unintuitive to do ingame, even when you have a stun grenade. you crouch and sidestep thumpers when they are fast then stab them in their side twice in passing. or crouch and sidestep thumpers when they are fast while you're next to a wall then stab them in their side 4 times killing them when they crash into it. remember the front and top of the thumper are invincible to knives. A cool video idea would be going over other non-weapon ways to kill monsters: lightning via keys (giant and everything else), eggs (giant!), running down stairs and over landmines (you survive because you're faster when going down slopes), throwing things on landmines(stun grenade, empty stun grenade, egg), baiting dogs into baboonhawks/mimics, using playerdetection crushing traps to kill indoor enemies, baiting robots into fighting enemies, using stungrenades on robots/giants then making the earth leviathan eat them while they're stunned, getting nutcrackers to shoot other enemies (other nuts!), edit: cheese: there are places like wall-ledges/shelves in mansion and the facility staircase where enemies won't reach you and you can kill them without risk
Please note some monsters, like the butler, have different HP on singleplayer than multiplayer. The butler is 2 shot by the shotgun on multiplayer as it has 7 HP on Multiplayer and 2 on Singleplayer
In v50, killing a spider was made a LOT harder since the spider has a slight speed increase now, so you need to sprint every once and a while to not get overtaken
shovel and knife can kill forest keeper if you bring it to the ship door and hit it while inside the ship (don't get too close to the door, but close enough to hit the forest keeper.)
Sadly that will never happen without wasting the entire day and money. Note how many of these methods rely on stun-grenades. Not to mentioned that players may trip each other up. Add in that you might be assaulted by 2 monsters at a time most notable Coil-Heads and a lot can and will go wrong.

Killing a bracken is way easier than it seems hes REALLY bad at turning you can kill him by just running in a circle inside main door facility he has 5 hp but it sometimes takes 3 hits to kill him due to you sometimes hitting two of his hitboxes at once EDIT: Thumper has two hitboxes one of the hits you and other is where you can hit him the knife (for some reason) cant hit truh the hurtbox so you have to crouch and spin around it while aiming down to hit the second hitbox and also im pretty sure you can kill 99% of things without stun granades
you can somewhat strafe bracken in halls and kill him if he attacks you in a bad position (not good position for fighting a bracken in). Main door, big rooms (facility), and most of masion usually have more than enough space to kill a bracken without too much difficulty
Hey hey , quick note on the thumper knife kill and snare flea invincibility , those are actual bugs from the game related to the room you are in where damaging enemies is really weird , got me killed before so I always try to avoid that room , also for thumper it can be easier to bait it to charge and hit a wall near you then hit it and tap S briefly , hit and tap S briefly again and releat as it gives you just enough movement backwards to land the next hit and is relatively safe unless lag messes you up, might need sprint if youre using something heavier like yield sign or have weight on you. And for snare flea I found it wayyyy easier to hit it while crouched. One final tip for mansion bracken kills , there are "ledges" or like yellow lines on certain walls you can jump on and the enemies only track the last known position of the player on the ground which is why the nutcracker bugs out too when you jump through it , as it looks for you before you jumped but cant see your current position , so what you can do is lure the bracken to a room with the yellow lines by watching a door with the edge of the screen and you will see it creep up on you eventually then run at it , hit it once with a shovel and then run back and while near the wall jump on the yellow line away from the point you jumped from as thats where the bracken will be stuck , then you can crouch and get a bit closer for a free kill! Unsure if it works with knife but it still works as of latest update. Amazing video overall , will be recommending to newer friends , thank you!
Don't rely on strategy that involves railings or ship doors. It is highly likely that these methods will eventually be patched out. Forest Keepers might start grabbing into the ship and railings could block shovel hits. Methods like circling the the thumber and letting it crash into walls before you hit it are likely to stay.
for the giant the most effective way of killing it is with other monsters (worm/old bird) or a lucky easter egg also if a mask is infecting you can interrupt it by hitting it and let it try it again to basically stun lock it

For thumpers you cant use knifes unsure of why but it deals 0 hp so grab a shovel or a shot and kill aways

Dogs have a weak spot in their forehead, if you aim for that, you get double damage.

In most cases yes, however due to some hitbox oversights shovel occasionally does more damage while the knife cant even hit the enemy
