      Primate you didn't notice Director Krennick from Rogue One in the Summit. Tarkin asked him about project Stardust. That project is responsible for the plans and construction of the Deathstar. Stardust is also the nickname Galen Erso gave Jyn in the movie.

  • @hellowhat890
    @hellowhat890 ปีที่แล้ว +119

    7:25 Stardust is the code project for the Death Star.
    And also, before he became a Director of the project, that was Krennic appearing here as a Commander. The first time we see him animated in cartoon format. Even with one line, Ben Mendelsohn really did return to cameo and voice his character from Rogue One.
    If you also listen carefully, the music that plays when Stardust is name-dropped is a shortened clip from Jyn Erso's theme from the movie. Such a great reference.

    24:50 The crazy thing is, it wasn't until this reveal that if you go back and listen to all of Dr. Emerie's voice lines, you can hear the accent in her voice and it makes a lot of sense.
    Even in Tipping Point, when Crosshair was drugged, there were some moments when he found himself looking at Dr. Emerie. When he got drugged, he saw something oddly familiar about her but couldn't put his finger on it and stunned her. He shifted his focus to trying to get a message out and didn't realize it.

    • @micahhynson27

    Emerie Karr (the Female Clone scientist), like all other clones, was purposely made to age faster and be "ready to use", like mere tools of the Republic and then of the Empire...
    As far as we know, only two Jango-based clones did not follow this protocole, on demand... Clone Alpha (Boba) ages normally, as Jango Fett's kid. And Clone Omega (Omega) ages normally too, as Nala Se's kid.
    *Talking about Emerie Karr, I don't think she's working for the Empire joyfully... Looks like she's always been on the inside and close to these horrible things the Empire does... So she's very aware of the dangers when you decide to stand against the Empire, and she's a scientist so probably not a weapon-expert nor fight-expert... Therefore she keeps a low profile and does the job like a "good soldier" (same as what Crosshair was doing, up to this tipping point)... And my take is that she's very well sensing a verge and small possibility for her to escape and break her chains, or perhaps is she gonna save the day in Season 3 and die in the process. We'll see ! But they clearly implied (with these various close shots on her) that she does not serve the Empire willingly and doesn't approve these twisted experiences and extreme measures... But for the sake of her survival, she just got no other choice up to this point.

    • @anne-carolinecosse5065
      @anne-carolinecosse5065 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I totally see her (cf. Emerie Karr) becoming a valuable member of the Bad Batch next season, with her scientific and medical skills !
      And also... Hunter is to Omega what Din is to Grogu, so Emerie would be Omega's mom the same way Bo-Katan is Grogu's mom ! ❤
      PS: Now that Tech is sadly dead (is he, tho ? I guess we will probably have a final answer next season, and see if they do a "Jon Snow" with it or not) ; there's a free seat in the crew... And even if he's back from dead and/or Crosshair rejoins the team, Echo might not stay after they get Omega back (he'll obviously help for this mission, since he basically is responsible of this sad event)... So there's room for Emerie.

    The adirmal in the office that speaks up for the clones and respects them is Plo Koon's adirmal from clone wars, Adirmal Coburn.
    The imperial officer talking about deployable base is a reference about the imperial type of base we see in rebels on Lothal. Since it's a ship and just lands on a planet and boom, instant imperial foothold there.
    We see director Krennic in Rogue One, he was in charge of project Stardust / the Death Star.

    I’m surprised you didn’t remember Krennic! He’s the main imperial villian from Rogue One and “Project Stardust” is the code name for the Death Star (named after Jyn Erso’s nickname). You can actually hear Jyn’s theme when Krennic was on screen. But yeaaaah, this was a super tragic finale, big “Empire Strikes Back” vibes. Tech’s death was set up all season with all the character development he got, it definitely hurt, but also felt earned. Honestly, the MVP for this season was Kevin Kiner and his incredible score, this was by far his best work and I think he deserves to score a Star Wars movie in the future.

  • @Culperrr
    @Culperrr ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Omega does age normally. The episode with Cad Bane in season 1 went over this. She is an unaltered copy of Jango, just like Boba. The name Omega means "final", so she is probably the last unaltered clone of Jango. So yes they may be sisters, but she doesn't seem to be unaltered and probably has the same age acceleration as the rest of the Clones. Also, Commander Krennic was Director Orson Krennic in Rogue One and project Star dust references the Death Star project, also from Rogue One.

    Plan 99 is in reference to the clone named 99 that we saw in Clone wars, who was a defective clone who was a janitor and the Republic army kind of discarded him because he couldn't really fight well cuz he was very deformed, but when the attack on Camino by the separatist forces came, he helped protect some clone cadets and when they were under threat he sacrificed himself so that the young clones could survive, and he actually helped delay the entire attack by sacrificing himself. He saved Camino as a whole by sacrificing himself pretty much but he did it for the young cadets that he was protecting. TLDR Squad comes before self always.

  • @MysterClark
    @MysterClark ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah, technically Omega could still be the first female if any others were cloned afterwards and have the increased aging. Omega might be her big sister.
    I have a theory, which I haven't really heard people talk about, that Crosshair (and maybe Tech) might be working at the first series of Dark Troopers. It wasn't until closer to The Mandalorian that they got rid of the people inside them so at some point they have to start with humans inside them. Maybe at some point they will reintroduce Crosshair (and maybe Tech) as a re-chipped Dark Trooper who is sent to hunt down the Bad Batch. Or if they're not going to go as far as Dark Troopers yet, maybe the Death Troopers (stormtroopers in black). Crosshair's outfit when he first started with the Empire kind of reminded me of the Death Troopers anyhow so I wouldn't be surprised.

    Great finale. One of the darkest Star Wars endings ever. Tech was never my favorite member of the BB but he grew on me this season. I respect the hell out of the writers’ for their decision to kill him off this “early” in the show as it really does raise the stakes moving forward. As such I hope this isn’t an Echo situation and they reverse course and bring him back.
    The mission to Tarkin’s base was an homage to a classic Clint Eastwood film called “Where Eagles Dare”. In that Eastwood’s character is part of a commando team that has to infiltrate a Nazi castle on a mountaintop that can only be accessed via cable car (and like this episode there’s also a fight on them). Definitely an underrated WW2 film.

    7:41 Fun starship fact: Tarkin, under the Tarkin Doctrine, was pushing for more fear/intimidation tactics when it came to their starships. He and most in the Imperial High Command were definitely talking about phasing out the Venator starships. They felt that because the Venators were mostly starfighter carrier type ships, it wasn't a ship that was meant for the methods that Tarkin believed would instill fear when people saw one come out of hyperspace and approaching their settlements, outposts, or planets.
    Imperial Star Destroyers focused heavily on higher crew complement and carried three times the amount of ground forces than Venators did because they wanted to control more planetary systems and had to have the forces needed to occupy and control them.

But I won't forget it was Saw's ego that led to Tech possibly falling to his death. In Star Wars you have to see a body or it's not confirmed in my book. The Empire likely has him and will do experiments on him. The crew will rescue Crosshair, Omega and likely find that Tech is there too in Season 3. That's my speculation.

    Omega is the first female clone...the rest of the clones age faster than her. Boba aka Alpha and Omega were the first clones made and they have no aging accelerators so they age normally.

    I noticed the female clone's accent from the start and been saying in some comments that she might be a clone. Now it's confirmed, which makes me wonder... we first thought Omega counted as one of the "defective" clones because her gender made her unique to the others. But this other female clone looks so much like the "regs" that I can't help but wonder if Omega's cloning difference is yet to be seen. Let's not forget that, when asked about the amount of "defective" clones made, the kaminoans said there were only five of them (Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Crosshair and Omega). With this adition, we can say that being a female clone doesn't count as different, she's just a female reg. So, what differences Omega from the other clones?

    20:25 It's so frustratingly sad... Wrecker watched Tech fall and die from his greatest fear. And then without any time to properly mourn him, the Empire is right on their heels.
    20:39 "I don't know if we've ever seen anyone eat a stun."
    Technically we have. To answer that comment. Back in Season 1, it took the Bad Batch several attempts to stun Scorch when the Commandos were trying to stop them from rescuing Gregor. Commandos and Wrecker are just built like beasts.

    Tech’s death was really done well, and i rlly didnt see that coming, tbh i didnt think anyone but crosshair was gonna die this finale, plot twist went crazy. Also love how they set up the tone for next season, crosshair and omega gone, tech is dead. Its just hunter, wrecker, and echo searching for omega (and ig crosshair) which i hope they keep up as the main story for at least half of s3, its gonna be darker and less optimistic for sure. I dont think echo is ginna leave until omega is found, its possible rex might join as well. My bet is first half of s3 is searching for their group, second half is a clone rebellion

    1 thing you learn in Star Wars is that if you don’t see a dead body they are not 100% dead and they could be alive .
    I knew something was off as soon as Tech had that love energy in episode 15
    It happened to Kanon with Hera
    Satine with obi
    And padme with anakin

    Hey there, Primate! No "leaks" or anything "in the know".... but I don't think Tech is actually dead. I can't say WHY I think that, but there are a few "logical" ways that he could have survived.
    Oh, I can't WAIT to see your videos on Andor! That show was SO good! I think I've said that it goes, "set up, build, payoff", "set up, build, payoff", kind of format. It's what I would call "perfect SLOW build drama". Very much unlike anything we've seen in Star Wars before. There's a "transition" episode in there somewhere, then back to the "set up, build, payoff" again... and that final "payoff"... no spoilers, but man, was it GOOD! It even gave me an idea for myself "later on". I'll explain it when we get there, as I don't want to spoil anything. But man, that show was amazing! Just from what I've seen you watch, and how you've reacted to things in Star Wars, I think you'll like it. I'll honestly be surprised if you don't.
    Yeah, I heard a lot of people complain about it. I respectfully disagree with their assessments, but I understand them. In this "instant gratification society" we live in, people want it all NOW. They don't have the patience for the buildup. But it's that "long buildup" that makes the payoff so SPECIAL!
    Take care, brother! Can't wait to see those videos!
    Edit: OMG! I can't believe you MISSED that! Krennik.... Project "Stardust"...... come on, Primate.... THINK! You've heard those names before! Remember where this is in the timeline!

    Until they prove otherwise, I seriously believe Tech is dead because not only did he fall from above the clouds, but that railcar would've immediately landed on him and crushed him when he hit the ground. Even water would be like hitting cement from falling above the clouds. And Hemlock seems like the kind of guy to use the goggles just to be cold hearted and rub salt in the wound

    I still don't think Tech is dead, but I give them props for having the balls to pull that one. They are merging this story with the Mando story. Mount Tantiss is where this episode mainly took place, is from the Thrawn trilogy books. They are taking elements from the books. Sounds like they are trying to create Force sensitive clones. In the book, Thrawn was a huge threat to the New Republic, his 7th fleet came from the Unknown regions and just wrecked everything. The Mando story is also going that way.

    Dr. Emerie Karr was most likely bred to be totally obedient as an experiment. Who knows, there could be more female clones like her and Omega. But she is confirmed to be a Jango variant clone.
    This episode was truly the Empire Strikes Back of this finale. Now we wait for Season 3 for the Return of the Bad Batch.
    26:30 Omega was still young last season and here. Which does mean she was not given accelerated growth. Remember, Jango wanted Boba to be unaltered and Boba Fett was the Alpha. Omega is the... well, Omega clone. At this point in time, Boba and Omega would both be teens and full adults by the time of the Original Trilogy. Dr. Emerie Karr was definitely given the same accelerated growth and is probably younger than Omega as a result despite full adult.

    I had a up and down reaction seeing Saw Gerrera’s return. The minute I heard his voice I got excited and seeing his face reveal, but almost instantly I felt bittersweet because I knew with his extremist tactics he was gonna fck some shit up for the bad batch.🤦🏽‍♂️ Tech said it best, Saw’s goal would be short lived, and they’d be replaced. It’d be pointless and to me it felt as if he just wanted casualties for the Empire which WAS NOT well thought out.
    The Bad batch’s plan was going SOO WELL, but I should’ve known it was going too well. And seeing the events that transpired after his choices, makes me blame Saw for it all going wrong. Cid is dookie too for her treachery, the coward deserved the sarlacc pit if you ask me. I almost wished the Empire punished her for being in league with the bad batch originally before calling them in with her salty ass, like it’d had to have crossed the empire’s minds as a thought of ‘Why did they trust her enough to be there? How does she know them so well? She had to have been offering them camp.’ ya know? With those conclusions the empire definitely should have been all “Oh you thought you were off the hook huh Cid?” type of moment. I honestly thought you would’ve been as pissed as I was Primate about these episodes😂😂
    Also Director Krennic was the big bad of Rogue One and Project Star-dust is the operative code name for the Death Star. I thought you would’ve caught on but SAW GUUD, (cringey Rogue One pun) other than that, LOVED this reaction!!👌🏽
