60% that say that are Muslim but I'm sure 90% of those never set foot to a mosque or practice even in their homes. We just don't care almost at all about religion :). All religious vacations are national vacations and the same family parties for any religious holidays.
It is so true, I have experienced the same in Turkey and also in my country Azerbaijan - the majority of the people call themselves Muslim and they do not practice the basics of Islam. It is very common in Albania as well :) And I love the way Albanians are so tolerant about other's religion choices :)
I’ve known many Albanians in the past and they were extreme chain smokers (male and female - lol we used to have so many arguments- us poor non smokers who hated passive smoking, in fact I ended up thinking that smoking was a national Albanian past time and was so relieved that it finally got banned at work) and with really identifiable religious Muslim surnames like Islam. It was interesting to read that at one stage Albania was so oppressed under communism that it became declared as the first atheist country. Video is interesting I guess the hard core drinking is another left over present from the communist era. Davud what is the logic behind drinking something that burns your throat? Doesn’t make sense to me?
Thank you my friend for stopping by! That was the main reason to explore this restaurant, when there is no English speaking person it makes it more special :) It is part of the experience!
Haha, it was awkward moment she was trying to tell me they make it in the morning(sabah). Indeed I understand Turkish but at this point I did not get it :D Then I understood it in 8:59 :) Thank you for the comment!

This is the Albania after Nikolai Ceaucescu and his brand of Communism. Thanks for bringing the video from there.
