  • PROVING this NEW PING golf club is the PERFECT CLUB!? When PING release new golf clubs they often absolutely smash it out of the park... we saw the Ping g425 driver which has been a huge success over the last few years, the Ping i525 irons which have rivalled the best irons of 2022, the most forgiving golf clubs and even the longest golf clubs of 2022. We have also seen the Ping i210 irons, Ping Blueprint irons and also the Ping i59 irons which have been a major success for golfers wanting workable golf clubs but also forgiving irons... in this video we see a brand new 2022 PING GOLF CLUB.. but I honestly feel like they have made a HUGE MISTAKE with the release of this new golf club... In this video I play a one club challenge with this new ping golf clubs... let's do it. and let's do it now!

I’ve had mine for a week and 4 rounds. Had it made with the same graphite shafts as my g425s. Anything 60 yards or closer and I can now lag pretty close. And it’s extremely handy at punch shots when you’re in tree jail and need to advance the ball but keep it under lower branches. I call mine broke ninety.

A lot of reviews say this is an alternative “if you have issues with short game”. My short game was fine but ended up getting the Cleveland Smart Sole chipper based on Crossfield’s review and glad I did. Feels more precise with the short game shots its designed for. Still use 54 and 60 when appropriate but chipper comes out 70% of the time and I feel more accurate with it.

I like the name. I couldn’t care less what anyone thinks about what’s in my bag. I’m out there for fun. This has helped my short game consistency. It’s as simple as that. I’ve been good around the green before but can’t beat the consistency this club brings.

I have the Cleveland "Crossy" Chipper, with some wrist hinge you can even pop it out of some pretty deep rough and play some decent bunker shots if you don't have a very steep lip to get over. Can get some really good check on it too with the right strike.

  • @alisonburgess345

I think "chipper" is an OK name. There are "drivers", "putters" "sand wedges" after all, and it really can be brilliant for straightforward chip and run shots. I've got the Cleveland one and I really like it.. Entertaining vid guys.

Love mine! My short game is great and was great before getting this ChipR but it looked fun and it is! Especially 100 yards out. If ya hit down on it, with a pro-V I can get it to stop within about 7’. It’s like throwing lawn darts on the green!

N9 Wedge (Niblick 9 Wedge) I have played the Cleveland C and it is very versatile once you understand its limitations. DON'T open up the face angle on this club or you will go nuts. Its all about a strong or soft upright swing plane. I suspect the same with Ping's new offering. I will give it a try since if the 9iron loft is dialed in right you can take your gap wedge out of the bag just remembering you will get more of a roll out with a 9i loft. Don't expect stop and pull back shots but you can remove the fear of chucking in thick rough around the greens !

  • @mikebedford4362

I reckon I’ve looked at 15 - 20 Ping ChipR reviews and this by far is the best! If you put this club in your bag (and I am) then you need to see how it works from longer distances as well and this was perfect, thank you.
    Keep up the great work!

Ping should have called it the iC, C wedge, utility wedge, hybrid or crossover wedge… literally anything else would have been a better name. Hell, I still bought one even with the terrible name and it is awesome. I had room in the bag though. I think most high handicappers should be playing with a half (or 3/4) set anyways. I found it more beneficial to focus on HOW to play the shot instead of thinking about selecting the right club and having to hit a full shot. Creativity went up, score went down. I game Driver, 4h, 6, 8, PW, 56, Putter and now the ChipR. Course dependent I’ll add a 3W or 5W. Chris inspired me to try the half set and I think it’s more enjoyable. Even when using a cart I usually run a half set.

I only had 13 clubs in the bag so got one of these as an extra option. I really like it. It's my go to club for pitching out of the trees which I hadn't planned on. But even for this shot it's worth it. They should have called it a utility wedge or something. It's definitely not a chipper.

I’ve got two in the bag 42 degree and 49. I use them as gap wedges, any where from 115 yards and closer. They are clubs I make less mistakes with. I’m closer to the ball I feel and I’m very accurate with them. I use them for all kinds of different shots I have learn to do as I’ve grown to being a better golfer and never changed my club set up.

  • @normlang1994
    @normlang1994 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Just ordered one. I customized it. 4 degrees upright, because I want to use it exclusively like a putter from just off the green. I also went with a built up grip so it will feel more like a putter grip in my hands. If I really like it, I'll probably replace the grip with a true putter grip. My GIR stats are NOT great. I'm hoping this be an "up and down" solution.

My 50 and 54 wedges are plus 1 lie. It helps to parable the swing of this club, and it saves a club. As an option, asking your proshop if your forged wedges can be moved around may help as well. I love the shape of the club, it reminds me of hickory clubs. Love to see a set as a modern interpretation of those 1920s blades.

I had a Cleveland smart sole chipper in my bag, but couldn't get on with it. I've since purchased an older Ping i3 gap wedge that's maroon dot (meaning it's bent 5 degrees upwards) and it has the same lie angle as my putter... I play it like a chipper and the larger face makes using it far easier... and it only cost me $30.

    • @robertcourt8593

awesome! I've been asking for this for a while! I can't believe none of these youtubers have thought about either bending an old club or finding an old ping maroon for wedge to compare this too!
