I was used this method many times. 5-10 minutes and faucet gone.
You can use any regular screwdriver and buy a drill bit extension 12" long and drill with hex bit end. It will give you a 16" length to get any hard to reach point under sink.

Ended up using my sawzall to chop and dice the faucet from on top success but I’ll keep your technique in my little bag of tricks!🧰
@@gww-y3y Yep, one time I'm done the same removal from the top by sawzall saw, that way was easier than under sink.
Why are these stupid mounts made so small knowing they will be screwed in and out of such a small and tight space? Smh
Omg this was the exact video we needed! It worked perfectly ! We wouldn't have been able to remove our old faucet without doing this. Thank you so much!
Nice to hear that 😀
Thanks. This is a great method to deal with stuck faucet nuts and it surprises me that this method is not used more often.
After over an hour of yelling and almost calling a plumber I found this video. Worked like a champ!
Glad it helps 😌
Im facing the same thing. Ill get started. you taught me I need ti have patience. God bless you. I can barely fir under the sink. I was thinking of calling a Plummer which would probably end up doing the same thing
Thanks so much for the video. I had this exact issue. Your method worked great for me to get the faucet out. But after I removed it, there was a ton of corrosion and some rust in the porcelain under the old faucet. It would have shown after installing the new faucet, so I had to sand down the corrision and paint with white appliance paint. Good as new.
Nice!
Thank you so much for this video. The nut on my sink was rusted in place, this helped me to remove it! Ty ty ty!!!
That's great to hear! Thanks!
Nice job...pain to take off
Nice technique, using the drill saved me. Burned up like 2 dremel tiny cutting wheels that wasn't going anywhere.
Glad you get it!
@@FixitAllDude no for real I owe you a beer lol
@@TheFoyer13 Thank you my friend! Nice to hear my way safe you time!
Good job man and for thinking outside box I have a similar set up but porcelain will use drill technique Thx
…So …Basically you have to cut that goofy ring out because of corrosion 👍
sometimes I use a screw bit and small hammer to hit the screws once I just used a metal saw to cut off the nut and another time the whole tap I would be afraid of getting metal in my eyes even with protective gear
Thank you!!
Glad if it helped!
If only I had a drill or new somebody that had one... My sink has been broke for over a week And I have been trying to get this nut off And it just won't go. I like the drill idea But I don't have one or access to a drill..
I guess my sink will have to be unoperable For the remainder of my stay at this place.. Could be years... I already stocked up on paper plates And plastic silverware...
That god damn nut just won't come off
Use cut-off grinder and cut the fauset from top of sink. Just 1/4" from sink surface. Than cut couple cross line deep to the sink surface and brake it with flat screwdriver.
I am currently fighting mine I think I need to drill it out, They suggested drill out a the broken screws good luck I need to break the washer by drilling it and breaking it, need good drill bit that will not break.....Let you know if it works thank you
@@techtrack1 Thank you! I wish you can get it!
@@FixitAll Success, thank you, I finally broke the broken rusted metal washer. Home Depot suggested drill out screws of the other piece which was impossible and the metal drill bits broke because so small. So I thought if I can drill out the entire I call it a thick metal washer about 1/8" thick with tightening screws ,it would have to break, wow after two holes one on each side i heard it drop to the ground..now since the chip board is all rotten from water leaks I am packing it with wood filler(need 4-6 hours for it to dry) so the new faucet has something to grab onto underneath, I am probably 5-6 hours(maybe longer, and 4-5 days without water in Kitchen, sorry honey !) in but still fighting the good fight(play on words) some will get it....thank you
@@techtrack1 Nice to hear it!
Take the faucet apart, and you can unloosen the faucet from above eliminating most of the work. Just tighten those two screws sticking out of the bottom and then put a vice grip on both to loosen.
So i need spend more time for disassembly? And not relly know if it may help becouse who know how some model constructed.
Хорошо когда хватает терпения на подобные манипуляции,обычно всё заканчивается плачевно
Thank you
You're welcome
если кран на выброс то нельзя было его сверху отрезать?
Может и можно, но сверху обычно толстая латунь внутри. Как нибудь при случае попробую, ради интереса.
Get 'er done
Faucet designers need to do a better job to make them easier to install and remove.
From stainless steel.
Yessss!
How to do if it's all rusted? Like... the ENTIRE thing under there is rusted so bad that it doesn't even have a shape other than flaky rusty circle. No screws or anything visible. Just rust. Impossible to turn. Impossible to touch without cutting hand. Broke and can't afford to pay plumber, so have to do it myself.
If its rusted that bad, then it should be easy to break off with a hammer, screwdriver or vise grips
I found a better way... Do you all NOTE how the threads RUN UP all the way into the faucet ITSELF ☝️?
Note:
Make certain the water is off, and the hoses are disconnected first...
*You can actually unscrew the faucet from ABOVE the sink... YES, the nut can be frozen and the POWER ( its like a crank / leverage handle for loosening with a pair of channel locks or a pipe wrench) you can apply on the threads from above is simply amazing.... I'd recommend spraying some WD-40 on all the rusted parts thoroughly first too..*
*Once you note the faucet can be easily rocked back and forth, you can easily remove the nut...from below, afterwards😎*
bold. i have this exact problem in this video
This comment is the only reason I got that damn piece off. The way in this video way the hard way 😅. I worked the top and within minutes got it off and the remainder fell through. I should’ve done a freaking video
@@Perfectdancing
Yeah I found out all this through close observation combined with a little brute force.
Glad it got you where you needed to go with it. Work smarter, not harder.🙂👍
Great comment! This method worked great for me, thank you!
Bless your heart!! I did the SAME thing. Used EVERY tool imaginable! Even a Sawzall. Pulled, yanked, hammered...but I didn't have a camera with snazzy peppy music to help me along 😁 Congratulations, fellow get-it-done at any cost! Well... not money cost. If we'd hire a plumber, we'd not be in these messes. Long Live Doing it yourself!!
Glad it worked out for you!
thank you for showing a real removal instead of a perfect no issue hand tightened demo.
Thank you!
Anyone attempting this, please wear safety glasses and a small mask. PpE. You don't want to inhale any micro shavings from drilling and protect your eyes. Be safe
That's true. Thanks for advice 🙏
Thank you! I had a tool already and it wasn't working on the final faucet nut so then I tried the hammer and screwdriver and that didn't work but then I tried drilling it off like you showed and it worked! Thanks again!
Glad it helped!
I was doing the same!
spent 20 minutes spinning rusted nut. drilled it out in 5 minutes, thanks
Excellent!
Lets be honest, no one is removing all the drain lines. Plus the new homes have 2 doors, which means you got about 15inches of space because of the center piece of wood
Thanks for visit my channel. I dont get what you talking about. My English very simple, so explain me please like for 3 year old baby words.
Try WD 40 or Liquid Wrench
I let mine soak over night in penetrating fluid. Not even that helped. Usually if I'm working on a car this is when I break the torch out but I didn't want to catch my kitchen on fire, so that was out.
@@TheFoyer13 works for me 😎👍
Can you cut off the faucet from the top then push it down?
No. Body of the faucet wider than hole diameter. Maybe on some faucet model it may work, but from my experiencel answer NO. It will be passable if cut under body if have some space between body and sink, but usually there is no space.
Thanks for the good tutorial. Watching it makes me raise the hope again. One question, do you use a drill or an impact?
Drill or screwdriver only. Impact can brake the bit easily.
@@FixitAll Thanks, will try it soon!
Thank you
You're welcome!
Tres beau travail.
Je vous remercie!
