Well! No nonsense, straight to the point. This must be the best tutorial video i have seen in a long time.

Thank you .
Glad it helped, thanks.
Very nice, just what I need to fix my offset! Thanks
Agreed. Thanks!

Meanwhile, in my world…..go to home center and discover they don’t have all the needed pieces in ABS or PVC, buy many elbow combinations of each, go home, still doesn’t work. Go back to home center, buy more stuff, repeat 4 more times, cut multiple lengths of pipe to make everything fit because the first 3 pieces were too long or too short. Take a break for dinner. Make sure no one uses the sink. Still doesn’t fit. Go back to home center and buy multiple universal kits with the bendy hose.. jury rig everything together , check for leaks, redo do 2 more times because there are leaks, tighten every connection just short of failure, no leaks, stand back and admire a job well done.
Add in drive 70 miles round trip b/c the local Lowes doesn't have the same plumbing selection that the one in the next town does. Still not sure I have everything I need to make it work. I could order it from them but it won't be here for 5 days unlike the auto parts store which can usually have things for me within 24 hours...
I resent you talking about me 🤣😂first bathroom problems😉
🤣🤣 So true!
A 15 min home project always takes 8 hrs.
If this is really for beginners then I would recommend dry fitting everything before glueing a single piece. But a nice video. Well paced and easy to understand.
Dry fitting can be difficult on friction-fit joints as they won’t always bottom out until they’re wetted with glue. You’ll probably end up cutting too short for a full fit. Better just to trust your tape.
@@rayray8687Yes simply measure depth of socket for good measurements. If you dry fit don’t forget to glue all of the joints, lol.😊
I’m a 60 yr woman, beautiful explanation, and yes I did it ,
Glad it helped. Thanks for your feedback
Great video. And finally someone understands background sounds that help you focus. Thank you.
I'm helping my Mom out by installing two new vanities and sinks that are both smaller and offset from the old ones she had. This is the exact problem I wasn't exactly sure how to fix properly. This gave me all the confidence I needed to get it done! (Not a plumber. Just handy with things and a Son trying to help his mom save some money) Thank you for this excellent tutorial! Love it.
Glad it helped. 👍
how did the install go?
I probably don’t “like and subscribe” as often as a should, but this tutorial was so clear and straightforward, I had to. Well done, sir.
I work at Home Depot plumbing department and at least couple times a week I have to explain this very process to DIY customers, some understand it right away others I have to go over and over and over this process. Great video 👍🏻
Show them our video next time. Thanks for your comment.
Keep going over it why you get paided just saying
Certain portions of plastic pipes are threaded to allow you to tie one segment to the next. This eliminates the need to glue one part to the next which is best avoided if possible. It will make it easier to take apart and reassemble if you need to clean out debris causing the drain to clog.
Trap adaptor and union Ptraps make it easy to take apart for cleaning or maintenance.
Because trap 90 is glued to the trap arm, line clean out is installed for drain cleaning.
Thanks for your comment.
Not bad. The only thing that bugs me is that you didn't ream the inside of the cut pipes to ensure smooth flow. Little jagged ABS pieces can easily cling onto hair and start to cause clogs over time.
That bothered me too.
Did he glue the p-trap? 😮 Doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose, ie to remove and clear clog or obstruction?
That bothered me three. I am not a pro, but I would install some cardboard on the bottom of the cabinet to prevent drips. I liked how he gave the bottle of glue a little tilt to get glue on the brush. He must have done thousands of sinks. Good video, don't mean to be picky. Cheers.
@@neli.a The p tap has a threaded connection. You can always unthread the p trap and tail piece than take the p trap out to clean.
@@neli.ano, it has unions for easy removal and cleaning. Accessible P traps are never glued! Well usually not, Lol.
Great video. Wish this video was around when I remodeled my kitchen. Installing the P trap was frustrating.
On top of the great content (exactly what I needed), I really enjoyed the calmness (and music) and simplicity of your presentation. Too often videos are amped up and this was a delightful change. Subscribed!
Just got a quote from my plumber for this exact job and it’s $222. I get the “special” price because I’m a member. After watching this, I’m getting brave enough to take another crack at it thank you for making this video!
EXCELLENT video. I've never had to deal with a 2" black pipe coming out of the wall like this before where any glueing of pieces was involved. Old house, new "opportunity" for learning I guess. This video was amazing!
Thanks for your feedback
As others have mentioned, great video tutorial that is straight to the point! This is my first video of your channel that I have viewed, and if the others are like this, then you just gained a new subscriber! Thank you for making quality videos !
Great video. After watching it I have complete confidence I can do it without screwing it up. Thank you!
Excellent demonstration. This is needed on most sink jobs and sometimes surprisingly frustrating to resolve.
That would have taken me all day.
@@pcm7315: Don’t take up plumbing then, lol. This was actually the easiest situation you’ll encounter.

Amazingly well done and just what I needed. Thank you!
Thanks so much😊
This is very helpful. Solves leakage problem I was having under kitchen sink👍😊
Hope everyone noticed he used a " 1 1/2 " trap with a ground joint union. Well done
Love the soothing music. Forgot i could chill out while I'm doing this
Haha! Glad you liked it.
Dealing with that problem now. Very usefull video ! THANKS !
Good Job. Very easy Illustrations. Thanks alot.
Best offset plumbing video!
Excellent job. Plenty of education in this video.
Just subscribed and so should you!
very good video with great explanation and workmanship. nice dry fit process to align the offset drain to the sink. thank you.
Drains being offset from the sink are most common, even in newly built homes. But it is not a problem as you can see by this informative video.
Straight to the point. I am presently facing this situation and you answered my question simply and easily. Off to Home depot for that 45. I was not aware of the slope requirement. Thank you
How much did he say the slope has to be?
@@bradybarker7933 1/4 inch to the foot I believe.
@@bradybarker7933 1/4" per foot when using 1 1/2" pipe.
Amazing video. You went over every single thing I needed to know. It’s also awesome to watch a professional at work, you make it seem so easy!
As a DIYer I like how you held both pieces in one hand and the glue in the other. Will definitely do that next time instead of fumbling everything around since I don’t have a method lol.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for making these videos. Saves me a lot of money so I don't make someone else Rich and rob me blind.❤😊
Excellent video...Thank you.
Min Min you sure know how to do it!!! Just gorgeous! 💖😘💖😘💖😘💖😘✨✨✨✨
Good work, straight to the point.

Very informative tutorial, loved it. Background music......not so much. L0L. subscribed.
Thanks guy .. solved my issue.
Great video, thank you. Subscribed, liked and saved to favorites.
Very, very good. Well done.
very informative video, very well explained.
Oscillating tool a must have, saw not used often as this useful tool.
Thank you, thank you, thank you my friend!
awesome job 👏👏👏
Thanks, you saved me a bunch of grief. The new rough in put the drain line more than 5" offset from the drain, I'm not sure why they did it that way, they had the utility sink for reference. I was trying to find fittings that would reach that far and had not considered using a bend to make an offset.
Glad it helped!
Perfectly informative video and very pleasant music. 10/10 new sub.
Thanks.
Thanks for the video!
your video is well explained but I was not aware of the slop. and most, you demonstrated a drain that is not in line with wall outlet and the p-trap connection.; that is very common. thanks and God Bless
Great video, thank you very much, it was most helpful and achieved the best outcome, God bless!
Glad it helped

Holy moly! Super helpful!
Thanks.
@@TheBuildingExpert my drain seems more complicated than this and did not come with a towel piece so I’m having a hard time finding the extensions to fit the modification
A contractor that did my new vanity install "fixed" this problem by adding an s trap directly below the drain and having that go to the old p trap. I'm tired of it clogging so I'll have to give this a try
See you put cement on both sides. Yesterday my worker was only putting on one side, saying its the same. Now I'm going to show him this video 🍾
Once you see his glue bottle, you know he’s a pro.
excellent videovideo
Great video!!!
Thanks.
Good job!
Very usefull. I really appreciate.
Thanks
Thank you sir. I was about to have an ulcer over this exact issue.
Glad it helped.
This is exactly my problem. I'm so inexperienced I didn't know 45bends are available. Back to town again tomorrow. Oh right, can I borrow your reciprocating saw? And extra batteries. And a 6-pack of Speights, ta. 12pack I mean.
Great video, thanks
Thanks for your feedback.
Question from a noob, why is a 1/4" slope necessary?
Manveer good one as well . Thumbsup.
Can you comment on why you used a trap adapter between the sink and trap instead of the standard tail extension with nut?
It doesn't line up
its obvious he is a pro, I can tell by the glue he uses
Great video! Having a problem with the threaded end of the p trap leaking. Teflon tape, pipe dope or silicone seal? What do you suggest?
Pretty good
Great video
Thanks
Very nice job
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you very much.
You are welcome!
Just something for people to keep in mind you're only allowed a 135゚ Worth of fittings on the trap arm before it hits the stack. And never use a 90゚ fitting unless it's long sweep. You can also use a street 45 in a regular 45 to make a 90゚ fitting that's a little smoother.
I imagine any glued pieces can now only be cut off.
@@jgz6989 Depends how long ago it was glued. If it's pretty fresh you can twist em out with a pipe wrench or by hand. Also if you're careful you can pick the fitting. For a ptrap I would probably just re pipe it.
Not exactly sure what the situation you're referring to is?
What's a Long Sweep? Thanks.
@@rainerrain9689 Just has a wider turn so it flows more easily.
@@creativesuit1930 I'm not a plumber, it just struck me the way he was glueing every piece. None of pieces under my sink are glued...for me it's more convenient to maintain.
enjoyed just subscribed
Thanks
Great video, sure looked like mustard
How would you get it all apart in the future?
Good
thanks!
THANK YOU
Glad it helped.
I love the spooky music
nice fix
I have to preassemble and paint marker the pipes. The order that you glue I guess makes a difference.
nice!!
I’m already confused 🥴 I’d rather just hire you.
Imagine being rich enough that you didn’t have to watch a TH-cam video to fix something yourself.
Then your a piece of crap... ..... we all need to know the basics in life . Cause if you don't ...you are worth less .......even with a the money in the world.. why always pay for some one to do a job.....if I can do it my self..
Imagine all the skills you'll develop by doing these things yourself ✌️
I can't even begin to imagine that. single woman and have to do things myself. grateful for TH-cam videos.
People get rich by doing these things by themselves
Even if I were wealthy I would still do projects like this myself. It's a great feeling of accomplishment.
thanks
thankyou
I thought people were moving away from abs ? Also I have to make new p trap design for my sink which was built in the 90s. how do i tell tis abs or pvc. the writting on the side verse not? or plastic apperance?
Great video. So I have the same offset issue where a 45 is needed but with PVC. So could I do this by building out from the sanitary T as follows: 1) sanitary tee, 2) stubout, 3) street 45, 4) marvel connector, 5) PVC ptrap kit, 6) sink drain tail?
Thanks!
Hello what's the chain under the sink. Is that to reinforce the underground sink. If so what is it and where purchased
