Please also consider Mahalakshmi tiffin room which is in DVG road and very close to vidyarthi bhawan. Khali dose in there is probably the best Khali dose i have ever eaten. It's not exaggerating if I say that it's better than the Khali dose of Dwarka Bhawan.
After watching your previous video of vidyarthi bhavan, I went and tasted the masala dosa. It was the most horrible dosa I have ever tested in my life. The chutney was the worst. I don't know why people are so crazy about this hotel. It's good for nothing guys. Don't go. Hotel Dwarka which I visited on the same day after watching your video that is like 1-2 km from this hotel was amazing. Almost 0 oil in the Khali dosa and was very tasty. It's costly but tasty
Honestly not to be wierd with my description here. This definetly seems like a food-gasm. When the superstar Kripal and the legend Chandru come together, this video just blows out of proportion creating a whole level food-gasm. Describing how a food is processed when it's on a plate till going into the mouth is definitely an skill in the resume. Hats off to your content
When I was studying in National High School, I used to visit occasionally, then the dosa cost was 40 or 45 Paise in the year 1972-75. Some old memories.
I first went to Vidyarthi Bhavan as a schoolboy in 1990….the place was packed , so they gave me a small wooden stool to sit on near the kitchen. The dosa was flipped into my plate right from the griddle and they took chutney straight out of the tilting wet grinder ( I was sitting close by)and poured it into my plate 😀😀😀😀😀, I know it doesn’t happen nowadays, they strictly control entry of people from 6 am , but this is my personal titbit from 32 years ago , when it was still the old setup
It was in 1962 that I was taken to Vidyarthi Bhavan by my cousin. Going to a hotel and eating was forbidden in our community in thase days. The dosa I ate there was so tasty that I ordered for the second one. Then onwards I visited that place everytime I came to Bengalururu from Hassan. Sort of got addicted. God bless them
For those who do not know.. Chandru got this title 'Sihi Kahi' Chandru from old famous serial he acted. Serial name was Sihi Kahi (Literally means sweet, bitter😄). He met his future wife in this serial, who also got this title Sihi Kahi Geeta! He is very famous for producing clean comedy serials
@@ArunKumar-vl4vl Also he's a food critic and food show host himself. Everybody knows him in Karnataka as the guy who has a very weird but satisfying sound he makes when he eats the food :D
Mr Chandru describes food as an emotion . Watching the pair of you together, makes me want you both to do a greatest Indian dishes series .it would be truly amazing. If he rides a motorbike too , then you could be the Indian version of UK chef pair "The Hairy Bikers "
Now this is what I call enjoying the food to the core...both of them literally behaving like kids who have savored the tasty food for the first time and emitting TRUE EMOTIONS...NOT ACTING Simply loved watching the episode sirs😍
Oh! My ,Even Sihi Kahi Chandru Sir is as poetic as Kripal Sir in describing Idlis. Both complement each other so well. This is what happens when two foodies meet up over some lovely food. Nice to see both of them together.
A glorious sight for the eyes A pleasent smell for the nose A delicious taste for the tongue A satisfaction for your soul A kripal sirs motivation for our senses to uplift even though we don't taste it.. it makes us feel the sense of taste.
This episode for me is nothing short of a SHOLAY combination where in two SUPERSTARS who are food lovers to the core come together to give us an insight into the food we know since ages... Hats off to you both👌👍
After watch 1000+ episodes of food lovers tv today i actually felt emotional after seeing both Sihi Kahi Chandru and Kripal sir both reviewing the food together. Both have become a part of my life as i always used to watch both of them when i have food. Sihi kahi chandru’s bombat bhojana was my favorite program few years ago when i was a student and now its food lovers tv. I cannot have lunch without watching their episodes. In a small village where i live we dont get all these food what you usually taste, but these people have made us feel somewhat satisfied atleast by watching their food review. Thanks a lot.
Oh my god while eating you guys are describing this dosa so well , i am from Kolhapur I feel like to come to Bengaluru just to eat Vidyarthi Bhavan dosa 😋🤤
EXCELLENT Presentation 👍 I live in Delhi but whenever I go to Bengluru I always make it a point to eat at Vidyarthi Bhavan for the last 40years. All the items taste same as it used to be 40 years back 👌🙏😊
I completely loved the entire episode. All we can see is two person having the same kind of passion towards relishing the flavors of the food. And the memories places like this bring in just mind blowing. Huge respect to both.

What a brilliant duo combination of Bombhat bhojana Sihi Kahi Chandru & Kripal Amanna at Vidhyarthi Bhavan. The former is recipe guru and the latter food relishing badshah. Watching Sihi Kahi Chandru's mouthwatering TV show " Bombat Bhojana" featuring recipies of super and innovative vegetarian dishes humming Kannada couplets is a delight. I have been relishing the masale dhose for the past 60 years at Vidhyarthi Bhavan when I was 10, the taste has never been compromised till date. Your guest seems to have overshadowed you in his expression by describing each & every dish inducing an appetite. Not for a single moment undermining your performance, which we are accustomed to. Hats off!
Belonging to northern part of India and spent all my life in Delhi, I can 100% say that Dosa and Idli is the most comforting food that we Indians have, that piping hot sambhar combined with chutney and Idli hugs your stomach like anything ... the satiation of eating a dosa and digging for aalo masala, and then dipping it with chutney is out of the world. The way you both have narrated these very simplistic dishes is sure to make me run for the kitchen and steam some idlis or make a dosa!

Wow! What a combination! In fact while we were in Bengaluru for about four years, my wife and myself were regularly watching tv shows on food including those wherein Chandru was the host. Nostalgia!
The secret of the crispness is the stove that it's been cooked on. The patina and the seasoning that has built up on it's surface over the last 70 years. All those millions of Dosas, all the oil and ghee. It's not just the non stick effect but it moderates the temperature and adds flavour. That's why you should never use soap on a cast iron pan, it'll remove the seasoning. Once you do that, you may never be able to build up that same seasoning again. You'll never get that exact taste or crispness, no matter how hard you try.
Beautiful prose with a wonderful description around simple yet extraordinary Indian cuisine. The rest of the world is still trying to catch up with the nuanced and sophisticated flavours of Indian food.
What an exquisite narration by these two legends ! It's a treat to savour this delightful presentation. I've stayed in Bangalore for over 7 years from the early 2000...Sadly I've never been to this place. But now, I am adding this to my must visit list ! Thanks Chandru Sir and Kripalamanna Sir ☺️

Beautiful prose with a wonderful description around simple yet extraordinary Indian cuisine. The rest of the world is still trying to catch up with the nuanced and sophisticated flavours of Indian food.
not a big fan of VB or VB Dosa but here to watch two food legends at a place and their crazy love for food
What an exquisite narration by these two legends ! It's a treat to savour this delightful presentation. I've stayed in Bangalore for over 7 years from the early 2000...Sadly I've never been to this place. But now, I am adding this to my must visit list ! Thanks Chandru Sir and Kripalamanna Sir ☺️
great to see 2 great foodies getting together to multiply our cravings for nice and tasty food ...may Lord protect and increase such foodies generations 😊
This episode was really good to see...not only about food review ,it was also about how two famous personality greet each other whole heartedly and watch the conversation....kripal sir ur really doing great ....my inspiration.. whenever i feel low i watch the show...
@Kripal sir this episode is going to touch a million by EOD today definitely superhit duo should think of doing more collaborations with sihi kahi chandru sir..The way you were complementing each other was very nice to see also you went back in time when you remembered having dosa with your previous generation which really took me back in time...You cannot review the food in legendary eateries you need to experience it... especially the crispy dosa with the chutney was mouth watering waiting to see you both together again soon

This video brings me back to Bengaluru
Thank you!
Awesome appreciation of great food. They have taken it to next level. It has been raised to highest level of being a fine Art. 👍👍👏👏
We should appreciate the cook but no where he will be recognised except the owner, he is the one who feed us with that aroma and taste
Please make a video with namma murali avru.....
