Just pulled a 9lb hog walleye out of lake erie last night using the 7'3 medium action spinning teamed up with a pfluger supreme XT 35size reel and 20lb power pro braid 🔥
Dude, im still lovin it! Only thing that has happened to mine so far is the butt cap came out of the blank. nothing a little gorilla glue cant fix though.
It definitely impressed me at that price point. I've got a couple good rods lined up to try around the same price and even lower that look REALLY sick.
Ok nice well if I see ya out there we’ll have to discover what bite is going on.I haven’t been out for a lil while now but will probably be back out there and I’m also thinking about buying a Gheenoe next summer so I’ll probably try out some tourneys
The previous-gen Ugly Stik rods, before they switched to graphite/carbon, were never straight, or spined correctly, and neither are their current graphite/carbon rods. Look down your rod blank and tell me if the rod is straight or not, and then flex the rod and tell me if it was spined correctly or not. I have an Ugly Stik from the early 90s that still has the 'Made in USA' decal on it, and I can tell you that it is straighter and much better made than the ones that later came out of China. The last Ugly Stik rod I bought (about 7 years ago) was their 7'-0" Inshore Select spinning rod, with the split-grip handle, for $50 from Walmart. I had to drive to 8 different Walmarts to look for the one that was the straightest, because NONE of them were. For $80, I'd much rather spend an extra $40 on a Tsunami SlimWave rod.
