I use it for inshore saltwater fishing. The rod is amazing. I use the 7’3 medium for my spoons. Holds up on them redfish perfect! 10/10 would recommend.
Man. I remember going fishing every other day with my pops. I had a little 5 foot ultralight ugly stick with a cheap pfluger reel. I remember my first fish it was a 2lb bass fishing for bluegills.
Recently I got an Ugly Stik Carbon Inshore, 7' medium action fast tip. It's sweet. The sensitivity blows my GX2's out of the water, it's way lighter and casts farther. It's probably not as good for live bait but for jigs and stuff that I usually use it's perfect. I don't love the baby blue color but it's okay. Now I want a graphite rod for my baitcaster. One of those red ones might be a good choice.
I have the red casting rod! It’s simply terrific! I haven’t broken a single guide or bent them out- it has the same unholy amount of durability with even more sensitivity than the Gx2!
I just picked up the 7’3’ MedFast spinning and already can’t wait to throw it out for some smallies and largies, I can already tell that I’m going to enjoy it and just might get the casting rod as well. Awesome review by the way, subbed.
This rod is incredible. And it looks sexy! I’ve had it for about a year already and pulled in 5lb bass on the regular WITHOUT issue. (Anything above 5lbs starts to get questionable to me). I abuse the crap out of stuff trust me, and I haven’t lost an eyelet, I haven’t had any issues with grip or anything like that. I love it. I got it in the combo with the BlackMax reel which is decent to start off.. 4 bearing, cheap plastic reel. I suggest a LewsAmericanHero, 7 bearing reel. Same price point and extremely better. Good luck guys 🔥😈 Go burn em! 🎣🔥
*I have the SPINNING version. I run 25lb braid with anything from 4lb to 20lb liter depending on what I’m doing. I use it for anything from perch, sunfish, bluegill, smallies, largies, whatever is in the water it seems like.
I’m looking for a rod for a new freshwater set up, I’m running right now for fresh is a 6ft M GX2 with a penn pursuit 3000 , I’m thinking I have to pick this up
Its a very uncortable rod. They didnt put soft foam or soft material to hold the handle so long term use hand gets uncomfortable. Not that light compared to elite series minus the lack of comfort makes elite the better rod for long term use. Also not that light compared to elite either.
Bought my first ugly stik in 1996, and I'm still fishing with it. Looks practically good as new in 2023.

Fishing has helped me get through some of the hardest times of my life.

@@OntheCreek I just caught a 15 lb buffalo with 8 lb test today on mine
I’m getting one soon but does it bend well? Like on big fish. Is it strong and reliable
@@roythatonefishermen mine is so far last week I landed a 15 lb buffalo on 8 lb test luckily the guy next to me had a net

Definitely.
Would this rod look good with a blue reel?
Btw just subscribed
The rod is completely red and black, I think red would be better
It looks amazing! I have the Carbon with the LewsAmericanHero reel on it! (Black and blue)
Piscifun Carbon Black 2000 is what I have on my 7' Carbon UL

How is this rod for inshore?
It's should be good
I love it. Would recommend a light reel tho. It’s pretty heavy on the handle. But I’ve found it perfect for launching spoons for redfish.

Are you talking about the spinning or casting version?
I have the casting version and imo it’s miles better than the Gx2 in terms of long haul usage.
@@krispyk.1786 gx2 is too wobbly, the elite is the one i am comparing, its more carbon and thinner than GX2 while more stiffer as well, and light too
