Kenai was found as a baby bird that fell off a tall building. She was very weak and wouldn't even cheep. That's when Dani found her and decided to help out. Unfortunately, since Kenai was a starling, which are considered invasive, rehabbers refused to take her in. So it was all up to Dani. And oh boy did Kenai blossom!

Such a lovely duo 🐦 Do you like their story?
YES! Absolutely! She is adorable.
Love their story! 💕💕
She's such a special bird. Thank you for saving her!
Agree!!
I’ve seen so many starlings passed over as they’re invasive…
Thank you for giving her a life
I'm so happy that you didn't turn your back on her!
What a special person to take responsibility for a bird that no one else would take care of! She's a very giving person. I'm so glad that the bird is so sweet with her! ❤
Thank you for giving her the chance to live a happy life.
God love her! She has just as much of a right to a happy life as we do!
Six weeks of twice an hour feeding! You are a saint!
Despite the fact that they're an invasive species I can't help but be impressed by them. Yours is absolutely gorgeous 😍
I consider each of you very fortunate. Thank you.
You're this little birds family. That's what you are to him or her ❤
You such a Kind Hearted❤ woman for caring about this defenseless baby. Starling's feather design is stunningly beautiful!!
Starlings are the coolest birds I’ve raised from a young age!!! Beautiful coloration on them and Smart!! U 2 are meant for each other 👍
Your baby is your baby is your baby.... It doesn't matter what other people think. She's a beautiful girl, btw. 🙂💗
Amazing that they are called invasive especially since they were on this planet before us!!
Some could say that we humans are invasive
Mostly because of the damage they do to native birds.
We humans have also down intense damage to different species. Remember the dodo. It took less than 80 year for them to go
extinct
@@tmtb80 Such as ..Damage is usually at the feet of humans
Hateful people always hate beautiful things. You did a great thing, she is adorable, what an awesome video. Thanks very brave woman
I rescued a European Starling too! His name is Loki and he just turned 3!! I have had him since he was kicked out of the nest at just a few days old. I know how much work it is and how much patience and time is required to take this journey and I am so happy for both of you. It is the most special relationship I have ever had with an animal. Thank you for sharing!! Xoxoxoxox
How could anyone hate such beautiful and intelligent birds is beyond me. We have flocks of them here in the UK and flocks of them have landed in my garden. We have fed them and eventually they move on. I'm assuming that they migrate
Kenai is incredible,almost magical⭐I love how engaged,and helpful she is.Lovely video,thank you💗🙏🌈
She's just a sweet lil CUTIE pie 🐦⬛❤
What precious, beautiful little girl!❤
Every time you show people the emotional capacity of an animal, they no longer judge it as irrelevant or a pest. Not many people like birds, in general. I love all of them, even the annoying ones like crows. Your baby seems remarkably connected to you. I love that it is really a wild animal and you have domesticated it.
How sweet. I can't even imagine feeding her for every 30 minutes for 6 weeks. That's insane. Such a sweet story.
You love her, she loves you..who cares what other people think ❤❤😊
Separate from the Sparrow I adore the Starling birds . I love to hear them every morning.. both of you are soul mates.
It's too bad the rehabbers pick and choose who shall live and who they won't give their care to. They could have brought her up to be released, but in the long run, it's better she got a loving, protective forever home with such a great rescuer. Best wishes and luck to them both. 🍃
Thank you for sharing this is so very cute story she is so very cute and adorable and precious 💞💕💕❤❤❤ and thank you for saving her
❤️❤️❤️Beautiful bird and rescue, thank you for saving this special wonderful bird ❤️❤️❤️
Such a cute chubby and fluffy bird💗💗 Im happy they found each other
She is a beautiful and amazing bird!! Cheers to you for your dedication in saving her!! 😊 Much love 💕
This reminds me of the ancient Welsh tale of the Princess Branwen, who tamed a Starling when she was held captive in Ireland. The starling then flew to Britain to tel her brother giant King Bendigeidvran about her plight. It’s an ancient tale with a tragic ending, but part and parcel of Cymric Culture in the four branches of the Mabinogion.
Very pretty starling 🐦⬛
Beautiful!
Starlings are very very intelligent. I have read about cases where they learn the meanings of many human words.
This is wholesome to watch. We hope to see more content like this.
I find it interesting that animals end up being called invasive. Most things were probably invasive at some point but nature just evolves. That's how I feel.
me too
Keani is a joy to see she is a. beautiful and smart
You had to feed Kenai every 30 minutes for the first six weeks?!? And I thought being the mom or dad of a human baby was demanding. I guess I'm glad I am NOT the parent of starlings!
I had no idea Starlings could copy! We get them in the UK❤❤ something new learnt today, thankyou
She's a beautiful baby ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Blessings for saving her. 🤗
Thank you so much, good people like you.😊❤❤❤❤❤😂
why dont people like starlings? theyre cool little birds
I LOVE STARLINGS THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. NOW MOCKING BIRD NOT A FAN BECAUSE I HAVE A TINY WILD OWL ADULT THAT 6 OR MORE EVIL MOCKINGBIRDS ATTACK. THEY ARE KNOWN AS THE ABSOLUTE MEANIES OF THE BIRD WORLD, MOCKINGBIRDS ATTACK ALL BIRDS UNCLUDING MY HUMMER FRIENDS
Looks like the perfect setup. Here in NYC, starlings are also considered invasive and places like Wild Bird Fund turn them away. It's harsh but it is what it is. They seem like intelligent birds, dining on garbage in the middle of the road and taking off right before the traffic comes. I love 'em! 😍
People, animals, and plants migrate, how long until no longer "invasive?" Who decides?
@@juneyshu6197 The problem is the impact they have on the native species and the environment.
You are wonderful and so is little Miss Starling ..You are the winner .Never understood US and their loathing of none indigenous birds .The bird never asked to come .Same as in UK there are so many Canada Geese. Fabulous birds and weirdoes imported them .as a result they have no idea where they are from and actually we love them .Germany loves theirs also .The Grey Squirrel was introduced to UK from US .They are not without sins but are loved .No bird is a pest .Love starlings and they are so friendly ....Greetings to you both :-)
A love story. So adorable
So adorable and all love
Beautiful bird
awwww adorable.
So sweet
A rehab group released one near my home and he bonded to me (Ringo Starling). Absolutely adorable, and a wonderful experience. I think this one might be a male due to the bold markings; the females are rather non-descript and dull as far as markings go
Starlings are my favourite birds!
Whenever l visit England and stay at my partner's place l feed all the birds that visita the garden. I LOVE all of them , but definitely starlings are the stars for me.
They are really, really endangered all over the world and there are too many misconceptions about them. They do more good than bad, eat insects that are problematic for crops and are food for predators. And they are sooooo clever!
very true
That’s so Awesome!
❤❤❤
awesome.
I’m a starling lover too
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had a pet starling, he was the LOVE OF MY LIFE! STARLINGS ARE SO HUNGRY!
YEAH, I HAD FISH TANKS, HE STOLE $ FROM MY PURSE N DUNKED IT INTO MY FISH TANKS!
❤

I'd be way afraid she'd peck my eyeball with that knife of a beak!
I can't imagine not having the privilege to see flocks of starlings lift off in unison and synchronize in aerial ballet... "murmurations" and considering them "invasive" like weeds. Nope. They are amazing.
The bird is a Starling if you were wondering. They don't even mention it until damn near the end of the video.
If you have a job how were you able to feed her every 30 min.? Did you take her to work?
She's adorable. It must've been so rewarding to be successful in her survival and now thru ing😊
There are a ton of black birds that are all over my yard that eat all the bird seed I put out, and my boyfriend said that they are starlings... Are there black starlings also? I'm in Michigan. I'm always happy to feed them, I think they are adorable. And I remember him saying that they are an invasive species.
Is this bird a Starling? She is beautiful
I would like to call your bird a highly influential person. I think the bird thinks it's your owner and that it's big in the house. It seems intelligent and always curious.
Amazing, love between the two. Beautiful story, glad that it worked out.
What types of food did you feed her whilst she was a baby?
Don't be too hard on rehabbers. Once nesting season starts, there are 100X more birds in need than there are people to help.
They'll take "invasive" species (starlings, house sparrows, etc) if they can, but they almost never can. I have a house sparrow as a pet who came to me as an injured fledgeling that could never be released into the wild
What did you feed her? In case I ever find a baby bird! Everybody brings me all kinds of animals I'd like to know what I feed a baby bird.
Is that a starling?
Just be really careful of anything with Iron in it. Starlings cannot handle it. They get Iron Storage Disease. In the wild there are foods and water sources with Tannic Acid they eat or drink that would flush Iron from their system. We used tiny amounts of unsweetened,no flavor iced tea mix in water or food to help the rescued Starling we helped if they had any issues. My Lily just passed on. She was the last of our 'keepers'. She was well over 20 years old! Love her, dont fret about the 'haters'. They're smarter than parrots! Starlings also come in fancy colors that cost alot of money! They're also related to Mynah Birds. Once very popular pets in the US. Hey even Mozart had a pet Starling named 'Thumb' who helped inspire him to write music!
PS teach her not to poke eyes! Pretend to cry or say 'Owie'! They don't know they can hurt you...(I found out the hard way how sharp those beaks are when a little guy cut my eye!)...and will stop if they know they are!
💚🙏🥹🙏💚
How they go the whole damn video and don't even say what type of bird she is untilt he end? I mean it's like the lady went out of her way to avoid saying her species. I mean it's like she was doing on purpose. There were literally times in the video where it would have been easier for her to just say "Starling" but she would say these type of birds, birds like these, I mean seriously it was like by design.
Whos deciding whom and what is "invasive" and disposable. Its our world, plants and animals migrate like humans, why so judgemental?

Invasive species adversely effect bioregions because they don't appear there naturally. They are introduced foreignly, and wipe out the native species. Once they take root,it's impossible to get rid of them.
