Finally cambered the cobalt doing the old washer trick. Its extremely simple and cheap. The washers costed about $5, and it took about an hour or so to do. The car is probably sitting at about -5 degrees of camber.

*PLEASE READ* If you are going to attempt this, I highly suggest replacing your brake drum bolts with a stronger grade bolt and tightening with a torque wrench. As well consider it “preventative maintenance” to keep an eye on your drums because the bolts may flex over extended periods of time (7-8 months) at an excessive amount of camber (-15) BE SAFE AND DO THIS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.

You can take the perch/locking collar out of the rear for your rear spring, that’ll allow you to go lower. Also try a smaller and stiffer spring

Hi Jay Rush. I'm thinking about making a camber with washers in a kia, I see that in the video you put the washers in the three screws and there is a screw that has less washers than the other three.
My question is: would the washers not only go on the two lower screws only?
juan manuel so when you put the washers on the bottom two bolts, that determines how much camber you’ll have. Those washers on the two bottom studs will bring the bottom of the wheel put further. As far as the third bolt up top that has washers on it, that one adjust your toe. Which keeps the wheel from looking like it is sinking inward in the front most part of the wheel

It all depends on the fitment youre going for and how low you want your car to be to the ground
did you take your spring perch out of the rear ? i have an ‘08 cobalt on raceland classics and was thinking about taking the perch off to run it lower.

I have a question about my rear camber :c
Unfortunately for the veloster we don’t have any camber kits or camber arms for the rear so we have to do the washer trick (but I’m sure you know that)
I did it before but I was only using two washers and it was okay but not enough camber for my liking
I tried doing three washers before but the oem bolts are so tiny that it was super sketchy so I stuck to two
However I despised to get the extended bolts, so right now I’m running three washers on both bottom bolts and only one up top on both bolts
And it drives fine but I keep scraping my rotor and it’s annoying me! I tried putting a washer both with with bolt on the brakes I tried it again but with the washer between the bolt and the brakes to try to angle it a bit because when I didn’t the car wouldn’t move at all, it moves now but it completely damaged my rotors and now I have to get new ones :/

Egg Smith I added washers on that front bolt to adjust the toe. I don’t know the specifications of their sizes but I just add what I need until the toe is good
I got a Corolla it’s a straight beam rear but if I get the toe zero do I still need an alignment??
No once I did my toe I was fine on the alignment
@@Saahunchogot a question you put washers on top to adjust toe but if you only put the bottom 2 washers wouldn’t it stay equal n how do you know toe is even zero by eyeballing?
@@Lurkin4GUNS if you only put two washers on the bottom it’ll look straight, but due to the change of angle on the drum it’ll settle with the toe off once the wheel is on the car
Can you link the springs you picked up for the rears?
I honestly dont know what brand they are, a friend of mine gave them to me. All i know is that they're 10k springs

@@flashtastical3957 Yeah I like the 10k rears. they're shorter so of course it'll go lower in the rear. And they're so stiff that when I was running my previous wheels which were 17x10 the wheel wouldn't rub on the fender anymore.

It depends on the width of your wheels, that’s how youll know how wide of a tire you can run. I think I’m running a 225/35/17

I have a 08 Cobalt Sport with rear disk. Pretty sure I can't do this. I just want a little camber in the back.
This could still potentially work for disk brakes brakes.

For the front you’ll just need to slot the coilovers
Man , I did this and the bolts don’t catch thread on top n it only got one washer
You may have to look into swapping out the bolts for longer ones
Well that make no sense as the bottom ones have 4 washers n they caught on , but the top ones with only one washer , it’s seems to catch then comes loose n it feel and I see it catch thread but when I move to the other bolt it comes un loose

On these cars specifically you can’t align the rear. The only way to align the rear is by eye.

If you stand right in front of the wheel and stand facing the car, look down directly at the wheel and you’ll see if it’s toeing in or toeing out

“Toe” has to do with your alignment, it’s difficult to explain without images. Just google it and I promise it’ll be a lot simpler than you expect. I had the same issue lol
Imagine it is like your car was steering with the rear wheels. So u need the washers to adjust your wheels to be straight and parallel again.

It just simply stays in place due to the weight of the car being on it

You may have to release the e-brake when trying to take it off. I had to fight with it and that was my issue

the front has independent fronts so you can just get camber plates for the upper struts

Why not just cut, extend, then weld the LCA instead of washers? It's steel so anyone can do it, not like it's cast metal. Then you could set it to whatever camber you want.
I would have to cut the drums from the rear of the car and have them welded back in at a permanent angle. No one local does this. That’s why I went washers
