I have realized my error... I'm trying too hard to correct those that don't believe and refuse to believe. I know I am suppose to defend God's word but I fail to remember He has won the war all ready. I think I understand what God was trying to tell me all along... long ago, when I was first searching for my purpose. I turned to anything at first, new age things, crystals, smudging my house with sage, using matras inspired by Buddhism and mysticism beliefs. One time when I was desperate and I was trying to concentrate. I asked for some kind of entity to reach out to me. Nothing I tried was feeling deep enough. It felt false and empty and left me wanting. Long story short, I had a powerful open-eyed vision and tried my way to save people from themselves... I tried to stop those who were walking into the firey pit. I got in the way of God... it all makes sense now. I got swept up and this loud booming voice in this dark cloud with lightning and had two things on the right and left of it. It was too bright to see what it was, it seemed to mimick the movements of flight. Anyway, this voice that came out of this cloud with lightning with a loud booming voice. It was yelling at me, I understood not why and what was happening but I obviously did something wrong. Everything went dark after and I woke from my open eyed trance and was filled with this weird ethereal feeling. I felt deep love and compassion despite the terrible things I seen and felt when I saw others suffering and I couldn't do nothing about it. I felt at peace... for what seemed like 5 days then it was gone... I was trying to feel this again because I never felt anything like it ever. I posted this story on fb and someone said to me, "God is sure amazing"... I replied blasphemy and they fled. I later, much later, felt the need to read the Bible for the first time in forever. Nothing else was working again in my own ways and seeking and research/researching. Just reading more of Genesis, things were starting to make sense. The creation story confuses me a bit still but... Everything else I was told was all... LIES. I felt so embarrassed and horrible for just believing what others told me... I asked for forgiveness but my faith was weak. When I openly turned to God on fb, others turned on me and it hurt me so bad. I was spreading seeds that I had no clue of. I was trying to share God but didn't know Him well enough. I kept on making that same mistake thinking that I could save someone from their demise... Guys, don't quench the spirit, the Lord will and CAN chastise you. It may not be pretty at first but at the same time, feels so unbelievably better than before. Amen.
I think I have always known this, but I am just now able to fully realize this after watching this video: We have been living in the End times since Jesus’s death and resurrection. This IS the End times and we live each moment by the Grace of God. Any day, any hour, any minute, any second could be the End of this universe.
CSLewis has a great teaching on how good is stronger than evil. Good creates, evil can only corrupt what Good creates. Bread doesn’t need mold but mold needs bread. Evil always piggybacks on what is good.

Thank you for your love in the Lord. You help me so much to get through the day. I have been sick for over 3 years and have trouble getting out. It is your videos and The Choosen that has helped me. My friends and family have abandoned me. It is worse because the church that I went to since I moved in the area 8 years ago has abandoned me. No one has visited or sent a card to me. For all they know I have not been coming. It started before covid. They knew I was sick months before they closed due to covid. It really hurts knowing that they have let me down. My comfort is knowing God will never abandon me. He is my comfort. God bless you and I will continue to pray for you and your studies.

I was really glad when I saw this title come up as a premiere and I waited to watch it and it certainly was worth watching and I really appreciate the teaching and it was excellent as usual. You make things interesting as well as informing us and teaching us about the Word. A very important and poignant part of the message is that no one knows the time or place except the father. And you were right we shouldn't waste our time worrying about it. We don't know when that is what we should worry about is just being ready for Jesus. Thanks for your knowledge and wisdom on this issue. My Dad, up until he passed, and I used to have these great debates. He would say Yeshua said we couldn’t know the Day or the Hour so that meant we couldn’t know anything. Also that meant we were to just leave it alone. I said yes, Yeshua said we couldn’t know the Day or the Hour. Why then couldn’t we search out the Month and the Year? Anyway I have taken a number of different approaches, looking at a number of sources including but not limited to the Biblical Narrative, the Jewish Calendar and the Calendar we use, the Stars (Astronomy), and other historical sources and events. I think there is a time range and a set of times within the Jewish Celebrations that point to a definitive conclusion. However with all the hullabaloo over this issue in my lifetime and even before I have been reluctant to speak about it or show any of the evidence. Anyway if you want to have a look at what I have, then please let me know.

Oh Brandon, Thank you for this video so so much. Those passages you talked about had troubled me from the time I heard my first sermon about the second coming, as a 12 year old. Not understanding them, even after talking to countless ministers and people still did not help. I for some reason was so afraid of what was to come. This lasted for 18 years or more until I was in my thirties, when I basically had a nervous breakdown. Some of the problem was I was clinically depressed along with extreme anxiety and did not know it till I was finally diagnosed and could just not understand how not to be fixated on what would lead up to this and how it would happen. Even though I prayed for help, and relief, I felt like my prayers weren’t answered at the time. I could not read my Bible because it terrified me. Fast forward….eventually after some pastoral counseling by a friend and help from my grown son, I was able to get to a point of handling and putting it out of my every thought but it still felt like I was going thru a hellish trial. Now, I am 59 years old and in just the past few years I feel as if I have been healed and my prayers answered. What has helped me most has been a few pastors I have had in church and watching The Chosen and your videos. Thank you so much for explaining Mark’s words in this video. They caused me great pain once but now I understand. I know that God has blessed me by having all these “blessings”put in my life. It has been a long trial but Jesus knew He would get me to the other side.
Glory to God. I also get so terrified reading some of these verses and chapters. I read Mark 13 after having previously read Matthew 24 and was not sure what it all meant and also got scared of it all. It just really frightened me and I've been going through a time where I just am afraid of it all, and afraid of the return of our Lord Jesus, whereas I should be joyful about it as a believer. I believe God is seeing me through all the fear and frightened state as I continue to seek answers and wisdom with regards to these verses, to fully understand and see that it is not what I may have initially thought, but different and all of it just required a good explanation. Jesus told us to look up and stay awake and be ready for his return. If we focus on living. Holy lives for Jesus Christ. We don't need to be afraid of the events in the world. Of course we need to pray for these events as well.
You missed the most important part that preludes the “generation that shall not pass away” verse. He talks about the parable of the fig tree right before that. That’s such an important part of that entire piece of scripture.

In Matthew we have the parable of the fig tree which symbolizes Israel. "Shall a nation be born in a day?" May 14th 1948? We are not to worry about the day or the hour. But we ARE to know the season!
Assuredly I say this generation will not pass is the generation of when it starts…to show a time frame from start to finish, remember there has always been those calamity’s. You are right THIS GENERATION was in the first century! The temple was destroyed, the tribulation was like none other, the gospel was preached to the known world and Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant. There are over 100 time references all over the New Testament indicating soon , near, shortly, at the door. THIS GENERATION when used in the New Testament, ALWAYS meant that generation to whom Jesus and the apostles were addressing. Jesus, Peter, Paul, John, etc. were not wrong. THEY were living in the end of the age, not us. The first century was warned to flee out of Jerusalem. No one knew the day or hour, but they knew what generation.
I need to allude to Mark's Gospel more often when posting Bible verses in the morning. His unique slant on things brings more to the table than many of us realize. In the Amplified Classic Bible, ALL of the verses come alive and the way you present Scripture sounds like my Bible speaking... With joy and emphasis on every verse and passage! do you understand why the confusion about the differences between Matt, Marqus, Luqas, and Yochanan? 4 different perspectives... Mattityahu wrote from the perspective of Yeshua the King from heaven, laying down the rules for those who desire to enter the kingdom of heaven (kingdom of heaven is here on earth now and for all eternity, NOT up in the heavens) Marqos wrote from the perspective of the servant, and thats why there is no genealogy recorded, a servant doesn't matter where he came from. Luqas wrote from the perspective of the son of man, living the Torah- the constitution of the kingdom of heaven among his fellow men. Yochanan wrote from the perspective of the son of Elohim, the Lamb of Elohim, sinless.
Yeshua, YaHuWaH Elohim in the flesh... the Torah (word) made flesh, who dwelt among us... echad (one), Elohim is Spirit, the magnificant name of the Spirit the Father of all creation is YaHuWaH or YeHoWaH (evidence for both pronunciations). The Spirit of Elohim took on flesh, Yeshua is YaHuWaH in the flesh. The trinity doctrine is another false and incorrect teaching, a lie, to deceive mankind into believing a pagan doctrine.
Matt 5:1 Yeshua goes up on a mountain, and there his talmidum (disciples) came to him and Yeshua teaches them, kingdom principles, he also confronts what the pharisees and sages (wise men) had been teaching for about 250 years at that point, and then correctly teaches and interprets what the Torah actually says and teaches us. And Yeshua clearly spoke truth, saying He did not come to destroy end abolish add to or take away from the writtenTorah, and teaches them the spiritual side of the written Torah. The pharisees and sages claimed to have received revelation in an oral torah, which they falsely claimed (lied) that Mosheh (Moses) had received on Mt Sinai aside from the written Torah. The oral torah of the pharisees saducees and sages, was invented, manmade, adding to and taking away from the written Torah, forbidden. Yeshua said take on my yoke (written Torah) for it is easy to bare/easy to hear and learn with the intent of our heart to obey, the oral torah of the pharisees is a burden no one can bare, and it is contrary to the written torah... E.G. you shall not cook a kid (baby goat) in its mothers milk... Seems pretty clear and easy to me... Pagans cooked the kid in its mothers milk and to this day in turkey they still do. But the pharisees say it means you cant cook meat and dairy together or eat meat and dairy together, thats why orthodox jews have 2 kitchens 2 sets of cooking pots and silverware and 2 refridgerators, one for meat and one for dairy. For shabbat they have over 500 rules... There are 4 main books and hundreds of thousands of volumes of rabbinic teachings and discussions. This is why Yeshua rebuked them because they added to and took away from the written Torah of Mosheh, and placed a burden on people they could not bare, every part of daily life is governed and regulated, from the instant you wake up until you fall asleep, which shoe must be put on first etc... Yeshua did NOT rebuke them for obeying the written Torah of Mosheh, he rebuked them for adding to and taking away from the written Torah, and perverting His Word (Torah). And for twisting what scripture said and taught plainly.
From Matt 5:1 to Matt 7:20 Yeshua is teaching and interpretting the written Torah of Mosheh correctly, and exposing the corrupted teachings and traditions of the pharisees and scribes, that made the written Torah of Mosheh powerless. Matt 7:21-27 Yeshua is Strictly and sternly warning all mankind what will happen to them if they do not (shema) hear and learn with the intent of the heart to obey the written Torah of Mosheh, the wiseman is he who builds his house on the rock (the written Torah), the the fool is the one who does NOT obey the written Torah, he built his house on sand... Then Yeshua after finishing teaching his talmidum (disciples) comes down from the mountain, and large crowds follow him.

I recently listened to RC Sproul ("A question of time") on the same topic in Mat 24. He very convincingly showed that, in context, the "end" referred to is the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem -- effectively the end of the nation of Israel. His take on "genea" is that it is a direct reference to the Jewish nation alive at the time. BTW, no surprise angels didn't know the date. They have no more foreknowledge than we do except as God reveals it to him
@Humanist Reformation There are other uses of the greek word genea with different implications. e.g. Phil 2:15 "that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as." "geneas" is used here (same root) but there's no idea that the "generation" is only those alive at the time in Philippi. More importantly, the plain context of Mat 24 is Jesus answering the disciples questions (v3) about the destruction of the temple. That happened in 70 AD. While we do not know the death dates of all the disciples, some seemed to have lived until about 66 AD and others perhaps until the Roman destruction itself. Now, Jesus does seem to mix in some apocalyptic dialog in 29:31 where he leaves the immediate context of the temple destruction. That is helpful additional information but does not create any problem.
@Humanist Reformation in Mat 24, the disciples were asking Jesus about the destruction of the temple (v1-3). Not the end of the world or the church age (which had not even begun, nor did they understand it at the time). To say that would be eisegesis not exegesis. My quote from Phil 2 shows that genea does not always mean "biological generation". I would go further and say that the phil 2 passage would not make any sense if that was what Paul meant. We can only say "Jesus got it wrong" if we miss the context. (not to mention that Jesus is incapable of getting anything wrong either then or now OTOH we are really good at getting things wrong!)
@Humanist Reformation All caps is not helping your case. The disciples asked for clarification on Jesus' statement in v2. For them, and all 1st century Jews, the destruction of the temple would be the end of the age -- that is the end of the nation of Israel, which is of course exactly what happened in 70 ad. The disciples were not asking about Jesus second coming. In fact, they did not yet, at that point, understand his coming death, let alone his resurrection, the church age or a second coming. They still expected him to fulfill 1st century messianic ideals and lead Israel to victory over Rome. *That* is the "coming" they are referring to and the "end of the age" was about the Roman occupation. Since that is the context, the generation did not pass away before the prophecy was fulfilled in 70 ad. Jesus got it *completely* right, which is actually the only possible option (he cannot be wrong). If we think that he got it wrong, then the problem is with us in misunderstanding the context of his remarks.
@Humanist Reformation I didn't ignore "and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" I set you straight on it. The disciples' question is regarding their expectation that Jesus would fulfill the 1st century messianic expectation, come to Jerusalem in triumph and end the age of the Roman occupation. I encourage you to read the text in that context. When you do, you will see that Jesus' was 100% correct. He passes the Deut 18 test with flying colors. I think you might have mischaracterized how I understand "generation". In v34, Jesus is saying that the generation that witnesses his coming in the clouds will not pass away until all is fulfilled. That is the immediate context for that part. Of course that includes the destruction of Jerusalem.
@Humanist Reformation it's unfortunate that you read the text incorrectly. Let me be clear about one essential thing. Jesus cannot be wrong. Not then not now not ever. If we think his speech is leading to some sort of contradiction, then clearly it is Us who have the problem. We are simply not understanding what he said properly. As I mentioned when Jesus says this generation in the passage he's referring to the generation that experiences the cataclysm at the end of the world not the first century generation.

Jesus did know that the parousia (spiritual second coming) was going to be in the 1st century generation at the destruction of the temple. The second coming was fulfilled in 70 AD.

Thank you for helping me understand the passage “this generation shall not pass away…”. It has always bothered me. And also for reminding me to “keep my eyes on the prize”. (Gist of not exact wording.)
It is often not uncommon for Bible prophecy to be “dual” in nature. There could in fact be deeper meaning, as Mr. Robbins suggests. But let’s not forget that people “not knowing” when exactly Yeshua will return is not the same as saying that people “won’t know” the future events when it matters. Daniel 12:8-10 clearly states that the “wise” will understand prophecy when the time is right. And given that the Bible is roughly 20% prophecy it seems rather illogical that God would provide this information to humanity and then tell them they shouldn’t be focusing on it (or focusing on it as much). I personally think that everyone has a purpose, some of which may be prophecy (wisdom) and some of which may be faith, love, or other spiritual gifts. But I will say this, those who make valid prophetic claims will be very clear and you will be able to verify their claims (ahead of time) to ensure that they are true. For example, someone could make the claim that a nuclear war in the Middle East precedes the 70th week (Psalm 83/Isaiah 17). If the next Sabbath cycle (2024-2030) is in fact the last one THEN this war would need to come in the next year or so. Is it important that everyone understand this? My guess is no (for many reasons which are too great to list here). But it may be that some (or someone) needs to hear it before these things occur rather than hearing it from just the Elijah prophet. I would also argue that certain people will need to make certain choices at certain times, like being called to Judea after this war and before WWIII/Wormwood’s appearance (Joel 2:32) so it’s rather impossible for any human to say what one should or shouldn’t be focusing on at any given time…and while we may have our own opinions of what others “should” be focusing on, when you really think about, we may miss (or misunderstand) that each individual may have to move from one seemingly unconnected topic to get to the right one for them at any given time. Who can really predict such an outcome? No human (mortal) can. But it is important to consider differing points of view to get to the entire truth. But I must admit, I will always view reality through my own strengths and weaknesses-as I am sure that is true with everyone else.
The Roman standard bearing the image of Caesar was set in the temple during it's attack and destruction....and melting of holy objects of gold trickling between the temple's stones lead to 'not one stone left standing on another.'

While i'm partial preterist, I understood where you were heading with this video and was a new thing to me to take on different meanings of generation and the meaning of the temple at the same time in one possible view...etc I think it's important for people to know the view of the end times for the consequences of many who are waiting for things, easily proved wrong, that are harmful. Many wait for a rapture, and weak signs of the times, told to them by culture and unskilful church members, jumping from sign to sign etc. Millions are spending their life savings on prepping, second properties, equipment, wells, food, guns and neglecting the gospel and their own spiritual lives. It was a sad story to hear when Corrie Ten Boom wen to China after communism had move in. She asked where all the christians were that he knew of. They had all fallen away. Dispensational teachers were bumper sticking their ideas to say "you won't be around here when any bad thing happens". While they returned to a country with large armies protecting their border. People need to eventually understand where to point there lives by their biblical world view in which the end times/Millenial ideas that take up 1/5th of the whole bible. People are running from craze to craze still drunk on the Millenium(end times) calling the virus the mark and always something new. I encourage you to say plainly what you believe about the end times to help stop people from losing faith in God when persecution reaches their door, when the rapture doesn't save them and they blame God, while they feed themselves with apocalyptic nonsense in which i see already saved families often ruined by a crazed end times father consumed in conspiracy living in fear. Following blinded Israel into wars, some still sell businesses and homes, etc. They need to get the monkey off their back. The consequences of their false belief is greater than not feeding them enough information or giving their belief hope. Anyways, thanks for listening. All these things have been accomplished. The kingdom of God is Now here in Christ. We now worship God in Spirit and in truth.
I have realized my error... I'm trying too hard to correct those that don't believe and refuse to believe. I know I am suppose to defend God's word but I fail to remember He has won the war all ready. I think I understand what God was trying to tell me all along... long ago, when I was first searching for my purpose. I turned to anything at first, new age things, crystals, smudging my house with sage, using matras inspired by Buddhism and mysticism beliefs. One time when I was desperate and I was trying to concentrate. I asked for some kind of entity to reach out to me. Nothing I tried was feeling deep enough. It felt false and empty and left me wanting. Long story short, I had a powerful open-eyed vision and tried my way to save people from themselves... I tried to stop those who were walking into the firey pit. I got in the way of God... it all makes sense now. I got swept up and this loud booming voice in this dark cloud with lightning and had two things on the right and left of it. It was too bright to see what it was, it seemed to mimick the movements of flight. Anyway, this voice that came out of this cloud with lightning with a loud booming voice. It was yelling at me, I understood not why and what was happening but I obviously did something wrong. Everything went dark after and I woke from my open eyed trance and was filled with this weird ethereal feeling. I felt deep love and compassion despite the terrible things I seen and felt when I saw others suffering and I couldn't do nothing about it. I felt at peace... for what seemed like 5 days then it was gone... I was trying to feel this again because I never felt anything like it ever. I posted this story on fb and someone said to me, "God is sure amazing"... I replied blasphemy and they fled. I later, much later, felt the need to read the Bible for the first time in forever. Nothing else was working again in my own ways and seeking and research/researching. Just reading more of Genesis, things were starting to make sense. The creation story confuses me a bit still but... Everything else I was told was all... LIES. I felt so embarrassed and horrible for just believing what others told me... I asked for forgiveness but my faith was weak. When I openly turned to God on fb, others turned on me and it hurt me so bad. I was spreading seeds that I had no clue of. I was trying to share God but didn't know Him well enough. I kept on making that same mistake thinking that I could save someone from their demise... Guys, don't quench the spirit, the Lord will and CAN chastise you. It may not be pretty at first but at the same time, feels so unbelievably better than before. Amen.
I think I have always known this, but I am just now able to fully realize this after watching this video: We have been living in the End times since Jesus’s death and resurrection. This IS the End times and we live each moment by the Grace of God. Any day, any hour, any minute, any second could be the End of this universe.
CSLewis has a great teaching on how good is stronger than evil. Good creates, evil can only corrupt what Good creates. Bread doesn’t need mold but mold needs bread. Evil always piggybacks on what is good.

Thank you for your love in the Lord. You help me so much to get through the day. I have been sick for over 3 years and have trouble getting out. It is your videos and The Choosen that has helped me. My friends and family have abandoned me. It is worse because the church that I went to since I moved in the area 8 years ago has abandoned me. No one has visited or sent a card to me. For all they know I have not been coming. It started before covid. They knew I was sick months before they closed due to covid. It really hurts knowing that they have let me down. I was really glad when I saw this title come up as a premiere and I waited to watch it and it certainly was worth watching and I really appreciate the teaching and it was excellent as usual. You make things interesting as well as informing us and teaching us about the Word.
A very important and poignant part of the message is that no one knows the time or place except the father. And you were right we shouldn't waste our time worrying about it. We don't know when that is what we should worry about is just being ready for Jesus.

My Dad, up until he passed, and I used to have these great debates.
He would say Yeshua said we couldn’t know the Day or the Hour so that meant we couldn’t know anything. Also that meant we were to just leave it alone.
I said yes, Yeshua said we couldn’t know the Day or the Hour.
Why then couldn’t we search out the Month and the Year?
Anyway I have taken a number of different approaches, looking at a number of sources including but not limited to the Biblical Narrative, the Jewish Calendar and the Calendar we use, the Stars (Astronomy), and other historical sources and events. I think there is a time range and a set of times within the Jewish Celebrations that point to a definitive conclusion.
However with all the hullabaloo over this issue in my lifetime and even before I have been reluctant to speak about it or show any of the evidence.

Oh Brandon, Thank you for this video so so much. Those passages you talked about had troubled me from the time I heard my first sermon about the second coming, as a 12 year old. Not understanding them, even after talking to countless ministers and people still did not help. I for some reason was so afraid of what was to come. This lasted for 18 years or more until I was in my thirties, when I basically had a nervous breakdown. Some of the problem was I was clinically depressed along with extreme anxiety and did not know it till I was finally diagnosed and could just not understand how not to be fixated on what would lead up to this and how it would happen. Even though I prayed for help, and relief, I felt like my prayers weren’t answered at the time. I could not read my Bible because it terrified me. Fast forward….eventually after some pastoral counseling by a friend and help from my grown son, I was able to get to a point of handling and putting it out of my every thought but it still felt like I was going thru a hellish trial. Now, I am 59 years old and in just the past few years I feel as if I have been healed and my prayers answered. What has helped me most has been a few pastors I have had in church and watching The Chosen and your videos. Thank you so much for explaining Mark’s words in this video. They caused me great pain once but now I understand. I know that God has blessed me by having all these “blessings”put in my life.
It has been a long trial but Jesus knew He would get me to the other side.
Glory to God. I also get so terrified reading some of these verses and chapters. I read Mark 13 after having previously read Matthew 24 and was not sure what it all meant and also got scared of it all.
It just really frightened me and I've been going through a time where I just am afraid of it all, and afraid of the return of our Lord Jesus, whereas I should be joyful about it as a believer. I believe God is seeing me through all the fear and frightened state as I continue to seek answers and wisdom with regards to these verses, to fully understand and see that it is not what I may have initially thought, but different and all of it just required a good explanation.

In Matthew we have the parable of the fig tree which symbolizes Israel. "Shall a nation be born in a day?" May 14th 1948? We are not to worry about the day or the hour. But we ARE to know the season!

You are right THIS GENERATION was in the first century! The temple was destroyed, the tribulation was like none other, the gospel was preached to the known world and Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant. There are over 100 time references all over the New Testament indicating soon , near, shortly, at the door. THIS GENERATION when used in the New Testament, ALWAYS meant that generation to whom Jesus and the apostles were addressing. Jesus, Peter, Paul, John, etc. were not wrong. THEY were living in the end of the age, not us. The first century was warned to flee out of Jerusalem. No one knew the day or hour, but they knew what generation.

Mattityahu wrote from the perspective of Yeshua the King from heaven, laying down the rules for those who desire to enter the kingdom of heaven (kingdom of heaven is here on earth now and for all eternity, NOT up in the heavens)
Marqos wrote from the perspective of the servant, and thats why there is no genealogy recorded, a servant doesn't matter where he came from.
Luqas wrote from the perspective of the son of man, living the Torah- the constitution of the kingdom of heaven among his fellow men.
Yochanan wrote from the perspective of the son of Elohim, the Lamb of Elohim, sinless.
Yeshua, YaHuWaH Elohim in the flesh...
the Torah (word) made flesh, who dwelt among us...
echad (one), Elohim is Spirit, the magnificant name of the Spirit the Father of all creation is YaHuWaH or YeHoWaH (evidence for both pronunciations).
The Spirit of Elohim took on flesh, Yeshua is YaHuWaH in the flesh.
The trinity doctrine is another false and incorrect teaching, a lie, to deceive mankind into believing a pagan doctrine.
Matt 5:1 Yeshua goes up on a mountain, and there his talmidum (disciples) came to him and Yeshua teaches them, kingdom principles, he also confronts what the pharisees and sages (wise men) had been teaching for about 250 years at that point, and then correctly teaches and interprets what the Torah actually says and teaches us. And Yeshua clearly spoke truth, saying He did not come to destroy end abolish add to or take away from the writtenTorah, and teaches them the spiritual side of the written Torah.
The pharisees and sages claimed to have received revelation in an oral torah, which they falsely claimed (lied) that Mosheh (Moses) had received on Mt Sinai aside from the written Torah. The oral torah of the pharisees saducees and sages, was invented, manmade, adding to and taking away from the written Torah, forbidden. Yeshua said take on my yoke (written Torah) for it is easy to bare/easy to hear and learn with the intent of our heart to obey, the oral torah of the pharisees is a burden no one can bare, and it is contrary to the written torah...
E.G. you shall not cook a kid (baby goat) in its mothers milk... Seems pretty clear and easy to me... Pagans cooked the kid in its mothers milk and to this day in turkey they still do. But the pharisees say it means you cant cook meat and dairy together or eat meat and dairy together, thats why orthodox jews have 2 kitchens 2 sets of cooking pots and silverware and 2 refridgerators, one for meat and one for dairy.
For shabbat they have over 500 rules...
There are 4 main books and hundreds of thousands of volumes of rabbinic teachings and discussions.
This is why Yeshua rebuked them because they added to and took away from the written Torah of Mosheh, and placed a burden on people they could not bare, every part of daily life is governed and regulated, from the instant you wake up until you fall asleep, which shoe must be put on first etc...
Yeshua did NOT rebuke them for obeying the written Torah of Mosheh, he rebuked them for adding to and taking away from the written Torah, and perverting His Word (Torah).
And for twisting what scripture said and taught plainly.
From Matt 5:1 to Matt 7:20 Yeshua is teaching and interpretting the written Torah of Mosheh correctly, and exposing the corrupted teachings and traditions of the pharisees and scribes, that made the written Torah of Mosheh powerless.
Matt 7:21-27 Yeshua is Strictly and sternly warning all mankind what will happen to them if they do not (shema) hear and learn with the intent of the heart to obey the written Torah of Mosheh, the wiseman is he who builds his house on the rock (the written Torah), the the fool is the one who does NOT obey the written Torah, he built his house on sand...
Then Yeshua after finishing teaching his talmidum (disciples) comes down from the mountain, and large crowds follow him.

I recently listened to RC Sproul ("A question of time") on the same topic in Mat 24. He very convincingly showed that, in context, the "end" referred to is the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem -- effectively the end of the nation of Israel. His take on "genea" is that it is a direct reference to the Jewish nation alive at the time. BTW, no surprise angels didn't know the date. They have no more foreknowledge than we do except as God reveals it to him
@Humanist Reformation There are other uses of the greek word genea with different implications. e.g. Phil 2:15 "that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as." "geneas" is used here (same root) but there's no idea that the "generation" is only those alive at the time in Philippi.
More importantly, the plain context of Mat 24 is Jesus answering the disciples questions (v3) about the destruction of the temple. That happened in 70 AD. While we do not know the death dates of all the disciples, some seemed to have lived until about 66 AD and others perhaps until the Roman destruction itself.
Now, Jesus does seem to mix in some apocalyptic dialog in 29:31 where he leaves the immediate context of the temple destruction. That is helpful additional information but does not create any problem.
@Humanist Reformation in Mat 24, the disciples were asking Jesus about the destruction of the temple (v1-3). Not the end of the world or the church age (which had not even begun, nor did they understand it at the time). To say that would be eisegesis not exegesis.
My quote from Phil 2 shows that genea does not always mean "biological generation". I would go further and say that the phil 2 passage would not make any sense if that was what Paul meant.
We can only say "Jesus got it wrong" if we miss the context. (not to mention that Jesus is incapable of getting anything wrong either then or now OTOH we are really good at getting things wrong!)
@Humanist Reformation All caps is not helping your case. The disciples asked for clarification on Jesus' statement in v2. For them, and all 1st century Jews, the destruction of the temple would be the end of the age -- that is the end of the nation of Israel, which is of course exactly what happened in 70 ad.
The disciples were not asking about Jesus second coming. In fact, they did not yet, at that point, understand his coming death, let alone his resurrection, the church age or a second coming. They still expected him to fulfill 1st century messianic ideals and lead Israel to victory over Rome. *That* is the "coming" they are referring to and the "end of the age" was about the Roman occupation.
Since that is the context, the generation did not pass away before the prophecy was fulfilled in 70 ad.
Jesus got it *completely* right, which is actually the only possible option (he cannot be wrong). If we think that he got it wrong, then the problem is with us in misunderstanding the context of his remarks.
@Humanist Reformation I didn't ignore "and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" I set you straight on it. The disciples' question is regarding their expectation that Jesus would fulfill the 1st century messianic expectation, come to Jerusalem in triumph and end the age of the Roman occupation.
I encourage you to read the text in that context. When you do, you will see that Jesus' was 100% correct. He passes the Deut 18 test with flying colors.
I think you might have mischaracterized how I understand "generation". In v34, Jesus is saying that the generation that witnesses his coming in the clouds will not pass away until all is fulfilled. That is the immediate context for that part. Of course that includes the destruction of Jerusalem.
@Humanist Reformation it's unfortunate that you read the text incorrectly. Let me be clear about one essential thing. Jesus cannot be wrong. Not then not now not ever. If we think his speech is leading to some sort of contradiction, then clearly it is Us who have the problem. We are simply not understanding what he said properly. As I mentioned when Jesus says this generation in the passage he's referring to the generation that experiences the cataclysm at the end of the world not the first century generation.

Jesus did know that the parousia (spiritual second coming) was going to be in the 1st century generation at the destruction of the temple. The second coming was fulfilled in 70 AD.

It is often not uncommon for Bible prophecy to be “dual” in nature. There could in fact be deeper meaning, as Mr. Robbins suggests. But let’s not forget that people “not knowing” when exactly Yeshua will return is not the same as saying that people “won’t know” the future events when it matters. Daniel 12:8-10 clearly states that the “wise” will understand prophecy when the time is right. And given that the Bible is roughly 20% prophecy it seems rather illogical that God would provide this information to humanity and then tell them they shouldn’t be focusing on it (or focusing on it as much). I personally think that everyone has a purpose, some of which may be prophecy (wisdom) and some of which may be faith, love, or other spiritual gifts. But I will say this, those who make valid prophetic claims will be very clear and you will be able to verify their claims (ahead of time) to ensure that they are true. For example, someone could make the claim that a nuclear war in the Middle East precedes the 70th week (Psalm 83/Isaiah 17). If the next Sabbath cycle (2024-2030) is in fact the last one THEN this war would need to come in the next year or so. Is it important that everyone understand this? My guess is no (for many reasons which are too great to list here). But it may be that some (or someone) needs to hear it before these things occur rather than hearing it from just the Elijah prophet. I would also argue that certain people will need to make certain choices at certain times, like being called to Judea after this war and before WWIII/Wormwood’s appearance (Joel 2:32) so it’s rather impossible for any human to say what one should or shouldn’t be focusing on at any given time…and while we may have our own opinions of what others “should” be focusing on, when you really think about, we may miss (or misunderstand) that each individual may have to move from one seemingly unconnected topic to get to the right one for them at any given time. Who can really predict such an outcome? No human (mortal) can. But it is important to consider differing points of view to get to the entire truth. But I must admit, I will always view reality through my own strengths and weaknesses-as I am sure that is true with everyone else.

While i'm partial preterist, I understood where you were heading with this video and was a new thing to me to take on different meanings of generation and the meaning of the temple at the same time in one possible view...etc I think it's important for people to know the view of the end times for the consequences of many who are waiting for things, easily proved wrong, that are harmful.
Many wait for a rapture, and weak signs of the times, told to them by culture and unskilful church members, jumping from sign to sign etc. Millions are spending their life savings on prepping, second properties, equipment, wells, food, guns and neglecting the gospel and their own spiritual lives. It was a sad story to hear when Corrie Ten Boom wen to China after communism had move in. She asked where all the christians were that he knew of. They had all fallen away. Dispensational teachers were bumper sticking their ideas to say "you won't be around here when any bad thing happens". While they returned to a country with large armies protecting their border.
People need to eventually understand where to point there lives by their biblical world view in which the end times/Millenial ideas that take up 1/5th of the whole bible. People are running from craze to craze still drunk on the Millenium(end times) calling the virus the mark and always something new.
I encourage you to say plainly what you believe about the end times to help stop people from losing faith in God when persecution reaches their door, when the rapture doesn't save them and they blame God, while they feed themselves with apocalyptic nonsense in which i see already saved families often ruined by a crazed end times father consumed in conspiracy living in fear. Following blinded Israel into wars, some still sell businesses and homes, etc. They need to get the monkey off their back. The consequences of their false belief is greater than not feeding them enough information or giving their belief hope.
