ALWAYS a pleasure tagging along with you, Ed - whatever you're doing. 😁 I love that huge button. Imagine what sort of garment that was sewn onto, eh? 🤔😲 It may happen that someone will want some of that old ammo for an historical display, so keep it safe. 😁 See you next time. 😊😘🤗💖👍👋

Hey Noralee, nice to see you, I think the silver thing must have been some sort of container but no idea what. Unfortunately it is illegal to own live bullets here without the correct licence so I have disposed of them so I don't get into trouble 😬

06:50 My first impression was the lid and rim of a tankard. 🤔

A bag of mysterious items Ed mate…..you’re a very patient man to keep digging ammo all day, but you had fun & found some cool stuff. Enjoyable Sunday morning watch my friend. All the best, Marcus

Thanks Marcus, it got a bit much digging all the bullets but I wanted to see how many I could find because I don't think I will go back there again, especially now harvest has arrived!! I saw some fields cut so cannot wait to get back onto them. I hope you are well mate 👍

It must be a bit of a strange feeling to be hunting where men and guns were once walking the ground.

Well when you think about it it kinda is but at least not like in Europe where it was being used 😕

Love the big, weird twisty things with the decorative (beaded?) edge...Yay to the buttons and those tiny silver clip things, too. Bullets make me nervous tho, but not seeing a hat makes me more nervous, young sir!😅 (throwing some sheba-shade😆)

Oh no! I knew you would pick up that I forgot my hat 😅 I will remember it next time but the weather tricked me...honest 😁

    Home Guard training area perhaps.

I think it was an ammo storage but why there were so many dropped I don't know 😳

    13:00 that’s amazing
    Never knew they did that… I found…
55/.303 rifle was not intended as a small-calibre high-velocity armour-piercing weapon; however, the purpose was to provide a rifle of lesser power to be used on standard .303CF capable ranges, but at the same time affording recoil more akin to the firing of the .55 AP round to better prepare those in training for the significant recoil of the full-bore rifle. The .55/303 practice round for this rifle was headstamped either just with "K 37" or with the addition of the .55 inch design number

Thanks, I read the same thing, it is quite interesting but makes sense 😁

Unusual finds in a field, although you knew it was possible. Good to see you again, Ed. Have a great week ahead, and see you on the next! Cheers Ed! 😊

That potential silver scrappy thing, I wonder if it was a decorated plate or container? Would love to see it flattened out and the mystery solved! Intriguing.

    • @VintageParagonUk

It is quite solid, I think I need an expert to straighten it out but I think it is some sort of container by no idea what 👍

8:05 those .303 blanks can be for rifle Grenades. My son found about 20 buried under a tree by a ww2 firing range

Yes it was a bit annoying finding so many but an interesting experience. I have just seen the farmers harvesting some crops so need to go check my fields. I am excited for that 😁

    Have you informed police?

    • @VintageParagonUk
      @VintageParagonUk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

No but I disposed of them responsibly, they have better things to do than to deal with some 80 year old bullets I think 🙂

Are those bullets not fired and still live?
