I'd like to find a little farm dump to dig fairly locally. Those embossed bottles are lovely and the gravel pit probably has stuff under the top layer of capping! Great video again 👍
Yes it is great to get something local. It is hard to tell if the pit has capping or not but once the ground is a bit softer I will give it a good go, my probe just hits flint so hard to tell
Nice to see you on the "bottles" again. My friends and I dug around in an old gravel pit, quarry, when we were kids we found lots of fossils, like ammonites and shell fossils. I still have some to this day. We enjoyed it but when we were kids we didnt have the internet so spent a lot of lovely time outdoors exploring old buildings and digging around for treasures. We took the fossils into science class and got a prize for talking about them. Thanks for a great vid (. You just kind of reminded me of what fun we used to have ).!!!!!!
Thanks Jayne, I always keep an eye out for that sort of thing too, I found a mammoth tooth earlier in the year which is cool so you never know what there is 😁
Nice little dig reminded me of one of my first digs nick named the hedge of dreams , my favourite is the dog mixture, not found one of then yet , keep looking and filming even if you don5 find another always good to watch 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love those embossed bottles - so much information! Perhaps revisit the site in the winter when the nettles and weeds are down as might give more clues as to where the original dump site is.
Nice little dig - and you didn’t have to go very deep. I found a couple sick bottles a while ago and they shined up pretty well with mineral oil (I used baby oil).
I love these bottle digging videos Ed, I hope to stumble on such a site one day. Will definitely take a look at your Etsy site! Keep up the great work my friend. Marcus
Excellent Ed !! Great to see bottles emerging for the first time since they were dumped. Wonder if there is anything in the barrel?? Ever thought of running the detector over the area? 😀
Cheers Mark, I had a look in the barrel the week before, nothing but dirt and ivy unfortunately. I have thought about using a detector but there is usually so much iron in these dumps I think it would be an impossible task. I am back to detecting next week though 😅
I will go in after work later and put the items I want in my cart and then you can add the marbles and anything else you can find tiny for me and make me a bundle if that would be okay. I don't want to pay shipping individually on each item though and can do the cheapest postage as I just want these for myself so no time line to follow.
Hi, right so I think the best thing to do is to message me on Etsy with the listings that you like, that way I can deactivate them so noone else buys them and put them into one listing for you, a kind of bundle like you say and I can figure out the shipping for you👍 how does that sound?
Fun video again. Did you find out anything about the acid etched flask? My favourite was the little scent bottle; reminded me of my nans lily of the valley perfume.
Sweet lil dig, Ed! Did you find out anything on the "tordish & co"? Will check your shop, but I'm poor again 😂... Window shopping for the Q. of S. lol 🌞
Hey Sheebs, on closer inspection it is T. Ordish but alas I failed to find any information on anything I dug 😳, my researching skills are a tad rusty I think 🤔
I think I have a pork pie in in my shop and plenty of Codds too, I will have a rummage about for some Codd marbles, I think I have quite a few somewhere still 👍
@@brendaholmstrom I am afraid that I am not digging enough these days to find anything for you like before, all I have is what is in my shop and maybe some Codd marbles 🤷♂
There's a few items I want so do I just put them in my cart and then you'll figure it out? I have to check what Codds I already have as I don't want a duplicate.
I was out metal detecting today and came across a bottle dump which is completely full bottles everywhere but I ain’t got a clue what ones to keep. Any info for a newbie please 🙏🏽
That sounds amazing you lucky guy! Well a rule of thumb is screw tops are a bit too modern but internal screws are good, the seam is important so looks to see how far up the neck it goes, if it stops before the lip you are good and it is blown into a mould rather than machine made. Clear glass is usually quite modern so if you are seeing nice colourful bubbly glass you are onto a winner 👍
Thanks for that info about the seem and the colour of the glass 👌🏽 iv been meaning to get back over there but things keep coming up that I need to do 🙄 I’m dying to get back there asap. When I was a trawler fisherman loads of cod bottles with the stopper in was allways coming up with clay pipes I gave the bottles to my mum which she still has to this day 👍🏽
I just submitted my order, if you would kindly refund some shipping costs if possible and add codd marbles that you can spare and any gobbies or other small items, I would appreciate it very much. Wanted to submit order so that I could get all that I wanted.
Thanks Brenda, I will get those packed up for you and refund as much as I can on the postage and I will have a good rummage for some small items for you 🙂👍
You can buy some of the things that I find in this video on my Etsy shop, please go and check it out🙂 :

Do you ship to the US?
@@lauriemccullam6327 yes I do, it is quite expensive but it depends on the weight 😁👍
You guys are good dudes for not buying tens or hundreds of thousands of views a video like some here. "Respect"
@@rockscousteau I didn't know people did that, I have better things to spend my money on 😂
Thank you. Great collection of bottles.

Well Done! The tiny bottles are so good. Nice finds. Suzy
Thanks Suzy, an expert digger has invited me on a dig so there is more in the pipeline ☺️
What a nice selection of finds.

Not a bad haul, especially given that you didn't have to dig very deep to get it! You mentioned having a dog. What kind is (s)he?
She is a rottweiler called Elsa and is 9 years old but still a puppy 😊👍
