As a GA pilot, I really enjoy watching these flights in and out of smaller airports - thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome! Do you ever plane spot over at OSU? We fly in there every once in awhile.
@@GrantBaker Every now and then - I've yet to find a great place for video at OSU. Definitely let me know if you'll be flying in though!
Thanks Grant...Love the PC-12 and really appreciate you for taking us all along for the ride!! Safe travels!! 🛩
Thank you!
What a beautiful sunset view :)
Thanks! Could’ve been even better if I’d have remembered to take the filter off the prop view camera!
Thumbs up 👍 nice startup!
Ah man, The Statler Brothers. That brings back some memories. Our family loved them growing up and I don't think I've listened to them since I was a kid. Going to have to spend some time getting reacquainted. Lived in the KC area and Olathe just down the road from JoCo Exec for a few years, so enjoyed the arrival quite a bit.
Statler Brothers and Oakridge Boys. Country Gospel doesn’t get any better than that!
Great video as always - appreciate the flight data any the end, That must have been some detour towards Chicago and serious headwind for a 2.5 hr hop that is 441nm direct!
Thanks Mike! It was about 45kts headwind component, the detour wasn’t too bad. I had to leave the inertial separator open quite a bit for icing so that also slowed me down.
Be safe!!! Lost a PC-12 last week here in NC. Dan Gryder did a really good episode on it at Probable Cause. Give it a look if you get a chance, interesting theory for sure. Be safe and thanks for taking us along :-)
That’s a really sad one. 😞 I’ll be very interested in the NTSBs findings on that one.
Another great video Grant. Thanks for sharing. Keep 'em coming!
Thanks Tim!
Another great intro. You are getting so good at them. How long is the plane down during an annual? Did you stay there or return to home base?
Thanks Lance! It was supposed to be about 10 days, but Covid and a part needing sent out for repair pushed it to a full month. I came back home.
Great video! Love flying the PC-12, I fly the older model jelly of the NG!
Thanks!
Another great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Always a good ride with you! I love flying at night, especially when you're treated to a nice sunset. Thanks for the great videos! Keep 'em coming!
I do love night flying and sunsets!
Great sunset Grant.
Nice seeing you out and about.
Love those dusk/night flights and landings.
You staying in town while annual being completed?
Love those stats and I hope your family is well.
Thanks Mark! No, I didn’t stay for the annual.
Another great video, thanks Grant. Looking forward for the next one!
Thanks!
If you ever make it to Seattle would love to meet up!
That would be great!
Loved it Grant. Thanks for letting us watch
As always, good to have you along Larry!
Lovely video again Grant! Thanks for sharing. Out of curiousity: why did you alter the altimeter in the standby instrument from 3010 to 3007 when the AWOS stated 3009 before departure?
Thanks! I actually changed both the standby and the PFD. Clearance gave me the altimeter setting that they were using in the area, which was 30.07. That way I’m on the same setting as other local IFR traffic when I enter controlled airspace.
Curious what a typical annual costs for a PC-12. My friend is seeing 16-18k on a cirrus Sr-22 , my LSA 3k
From what I’ve heard, 30-40k is typical except when other certain inspections come due. This page has a breakdown of operating costs for a couple PC12s. pilatusowners.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/How-Much-Does-it-Cost-to-Operate-a-PC-12-July-2020.pdf
@@GrantBaker appreciate that.
What is the pusher test
Gary, this airplane has a stick shaker/pusher system to help prevent aerodynamic stalls. It’s required to be tested each flight.
Enjoyable flight, thanks for sharing that. What aircraft did you fly prior to the PC-12?
The company I fly for moved into the PC12 from a Cessna 421C.
I’m really enjoying the channel, I appreciate the attention to detail, it’s exciting that you flew the 421C as that’s what I’m planning to fly soon.👍
Thanks Justin! I really enjoyed flying the 421C. It’s a great flying machine and, assuming you won’t be in one of the few without trailing link gear, the landings can be almost PC-12 smooth! Let me know how it fairs on the maintenance side.
The sunset view from the front office is always the best. Thanks for another Fine Ride. Any chance to see any part of November Golfs annual?
Thanks David, it really is the best! I wish I’d have spent some time there and got some footage of it. It’s back home now. I’ll keep that in mind for next year!
Great flight!! Love the videos!
Thanks!
What size (lawn) tractor do you have pulling the plane?
It’s a John Deere 855.
An excellent job there mate, under the circumstances. That approach looked bloody challenging. The wind was terrible and to get it down quick after turning onto short final was great stuff. But, clearly having watched your videos for a while now, and without sounding patronising, you're clearly a very good pilot. Keep it up 👍
Thanks Michael! That approach and landing definitely had a few challenges!
Beautiful landing Grant
Thanks Bernard!
I’m glad to be right seat with you
Good morning I’m looking forward to picking up the IFR clearance
Takeoff Brief checked and all instruments are set and correct and stick shaker checked
ATIS said "clear" but it looks like overcast.
Correct, the type of AWOS at GSH only “sees” up to 12,000 so it really means “clear below 12,000.”
