One thing that sometimes works for me is 1. Delete Chats and unread messages from groups 2. Force restart 3. Offload and force restart again 3. Open close whatsapp 5-10 times - courtesy @vanshchawla9489, this might help.

I am DESPERATE, i have updated my iphone to IOS 16.5 and now started crashing. I can't even manage to backup the chats because whatsapp crashes.
My WhatsApp business app freezes after few seconds but I’m receiving message notifications. My number not able to login both WhatsApp and WA business. I have done offload, reset. Even erase device and reinstalled . ios also updated to 16.5 already
But other numbers can login in my iPhone , my number alone not working . Android it works

Take a Backup of your WhatsApp on iCloud. Delete the WhatsApp and reinstall it.

What if i didn't back my messages up yet but i choose to offload it directly?? How about my chats, will it gone??

FIXED! I tried everything, including these video tips. Nothing worked. So I logged off from iCloud and opened WhatsApp, which worked just fine. So I logged in iCloud again and WhatsApp froze again, but I just waited patiently with the screen lit and eventually it started to work again. I don’t really know if it would have worked just waiting, without the iCloud step, but surely it has something related to it.

Does anyone have that Whatsapp freezes when trying to save a picture you’ve received?? I don’t know what to try anymore..
Try backing up your WhatsApp and then reinstalling it. The issue could be resolved by just uninstalling and installing the app again.

I did network reset and then connected my mobile to friend’s Wi-Fi and then re installed business whatsapp Then it started working
Later u can connect to ur network as usual

I'll suggest that you take a backup of your whatsapp on iCloud, then delete the app and Reinstall it.
My whats app is freezing while i enter in it only working for 4-5 secs tried everything updating and reinstalling and even offload
