    Do you make wine at home? Ever dreamed of owning a winery?

      Dream of working in the industry all the time. Would love to find myself up in the Central Coast.

      @@williamward7801 That would be awesome. Get up - check the grapes - pour a couple of glasses at the tasting room - then relax on the patio and have the workers take over

    Great video neighbor. I'm a beer brewer and mead maker over here in the 909. It's funny, I have never made grape wine lol 😆. Keep up the content.

    This is great, I didn't know we could pick the grapes, how do they charge in Temecula is it by the pound?

      I love harvest time - most vineyards charge $1 per pound but they are usually pretty generous and round down

    Got a red vine in my garden (UK) which I bought off eBay about 20 years ago - never ate the grapes or anything. Decided this year to try making wine. Got 30KG off it! Pressed, added yeast, took reading (1.060) and made SG up to 1.100 with 3kg of sugar and now at the end of fermenting (7 days). Looking to press soon then demijohn up 👍

    Is the yeast necessary? I’ve seen it done without it. Is there a reason to put it?

    • @twintrailsorchard
      @twintrailsorchard  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@AnthonyHernandez-qd5ht I’ve seen that too. I always add yeast to be sure fermentation gets going quickly to out complete any bacteria. If you try without yeast let me know how it goes

    If you decided to go without using sulfites, how would that change the process or final product?

    • @twintrailsorchard
      @twintrailsorchard  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they are mostly a preservative - i would probably just drink it earlier

    how many vines do you think you picked for the 200lbs?

    • @twintrailsorchard
      @twintrailsorchard  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just picked Syrah today - I'm guessing the vines were about 15-20 lbs per vine. I picked cab last weekend - probably about 10 lbs per vine. I'm dedicating a new channel to growing a vineyard and making wine - I should have a cab and syrah video up in the next week or two www.youtube.com/@TwinTrailsVineyard

    Ray, you forgot the most important thing that you do before pitching yeast: measure the BRIX and pH. Else how would you know what is your wine alcohol content.
    Also you should hydrate some nutrients first and then hydrate the yeast and lastly add some must juice to the hydrate before pitching it.
    And lastly (am I a pain in the ass or what) drop the music, it is so annoying the loud music, I have to scramble to lower the volume before it busts my ear drums, he-he.
    Wish your wine come out good.
