    I've always loved Cadwell Park. It goes very well with the Caterham Superlight.

    Great to see my local track Cadwell Park be mentioned in sim racing. I have been round it plenty of times IRL, but for rallying and track days. Very much a drivers track!

    Jerez was a hidden gem for me, i haven't raced on it yet but I've done TT and it's a lot if fun.

    • @lauriehwrdlh
      @lauriehwrdlh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jerez is one of my favourite circuits to TT and race at. The AI are a bit slow there but plenty of room for side by side racing.

    Cadwell in the Caterham was my first VR experience (in PC2) and I was hooked from there on in, great track, and great other selections Mike. We often race some of these with @mooniegt on a Saturday.

    They need to release the Estoril layout without the silly chicane section. I love Estoril but can’t stand sector 3 in the only layout they have in AMS2.

    Cadwell is also pretty nice with the old minis.

    The one track that blows me away is Velo Città. I had no expectations, and my is the verticality great!
    The old Gilles Villeneuve is fair enough; I hope Reiza's working on the original layout, with the pit lane immediately after the hairpin. I've yet to see that in any racing sim.

    • @SimRacing604
      @SimRacing604  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Velo Citta destroys me, lol. I can’t drive that track to save my life. Part 3 or 4 of this video series will be a “hardest tracks” feature, and I intent to include Velo Citta. Love the sign boards though, lol

    • @jgagnier
      @jgagnier 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is open to cyclists when not in use. Since I live less than 10km away, and I'm a cyclist, I take full advantage, and the last time I went, I wanted to trace back the original circuit, and I really tried to get on the old pit lane. It, uh, didn't go well :D.
      I always do well at that track in sim racing, whether it's in F1, AMS2 or AC, and I do genuinely wonder whether having ridden it so often in real life has anything to do with it.
      As for the signs on Velo Città... they're something else indeed :D. Setting out in the early morning and seeing the sun rise over the mountains beyond the back straight is pure bliss. At least, it is until you fail to brake for the rollercoaster section!

    I found that Class GTE at Jerez is a good combination. GTE have just enough grip for come corners to floor them (if you get the entry right) and the middle technical section is a good exercise for modulating brake and gas pedal. Good racing.

    Nice video Mike.
    I find using cloudy weather still looks bright but you dont get those shadows that you can see in your Santa Cruz part. Still choose the same time but just cloudy instead of clear and it looks so much better imo.

    Liking this video. Just discovered Velo Citta. I might have to try the P4 class MCR S2000 round Cadwell Park as it's a great little car.

  • @LupusAries

    Buskerud in a Kart.....total rollercoaster! :D
    I would also add the Hockenheim Kurz/Short Version, especially in the 1988 version as that chicane at the end of the Mittelspange gets deleted. It's a great little track that has a great ability to even out the differences between even the most different cars.
    Oulton Park is now too well known to count as a hidden gem, due to the Pcars and ACC series... ;)
    A missing hidden Gem would be Chesterfield, Greenwood and Summerton karting circuits (from the Pcars series).
    P.S. nice little tribute to our favourite gear stripper! ;)

    I hope you touch on some of the underappreciated South American tracks like Taruma, Velo Citta, Curitaba, Ibarra, and Goiania. Santa Cruz and Cadwell are awesome for sure! just wish they had the historic Cascais without the chicane and the reprofiled T1-2-3 complex.

    Distinct lack of Curvelo in this video. Such a mega track to hoon the V8s around in - while Adelaide and Bathurst are obviously iconic, Curvelo captures the feel of Aussie tracks much better imo, great little track.

    I have to echo some of the other comments in that the more recent layouts of Estoril are definitely not as good. The 1972-93 GP Circuit was decidedly better and more flowing, with the old T1-3 complex and no Gancho chicane or other adjustments.

    Gosh how I wish this sim didn't drive so awkwardly

    • @valter_vava74
      @valter_vava74 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s improving and it’s very “car sensitive”. There are cars which are atrocious, such as the BMW M1 Procar, which people seem to like due to its absurd levels of downforce (which seems to be a common theme on cars that feel wrong).

    • @valter_vava74
      @valter_vava74 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jelly.1899 nah, that’s a ridiculous answer. If you need to do a set up for cars to feel “natural” something is definitely wrong. The amount of understeer and near impossibility of losing the rear that all or nearly all cars have is inexplicable.
