- This is an updated video of Nero's moveset from Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition in 1080p60 HD quality! Updates include every single move he has in the game, DT variants of said moves, and all taunts.
Nero's basic moveset in Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition. He has one sword and one Devil Arm: the Durandel Red Queen (featuring the Exceed system) and the devil-blade Yamato (Devil Trigger only). He has one gun: the double-barreled revolver Blue Rose. He has a unique trait to his right arm; the Devil Bringer can be a menace to enemy devils. Nero also has access to Devil Trigger, which gives him new abilities and enhances some of his moves.

For discussion: If Nero's Devil Bringer is the source of his inner strength, then how will he use Devil Trigger in DMC5? Will he even have a DT, and time manipulation is his new gimmick?

Most likely, the "Mecha Buster" hand will give him
different abilities. His buster now has a sort of
big hand push, rather than just pulling enemies
with Snatch, which now tears hearts out of enemies
to use as projectiles. The time manipulation thing
might be a picked-up ability later in the game,
like when Nero got the Key of Cronus in Mission 9.
A lot of stuff are still in development though
and all we can do is speculate. For now, get hype.
We'll just have to sit back and wait for Spring of 2019.
Actually I think, he will still has his demonic powers like, enhanced strength, reflexes, speed and other things...but without his démon arm, I dont think he will be able to DT, he will have probably new abilities Thanks to his robotic arm, but the demonic ones will be gone, bcoz the arm is his demonic manifestation...
I kinda have the idea that it will be like Dante's styles.

More will hopefully be revealed at gamescom but i have a hard time picturing all the things we saw having their own dedicated commands. It would be a clusterfuck on screen.

One of the coolest moments I ever had in DMC4 with Nero was this little gem:
There was one last scarecrow and I had a B style ranking. I shot him with a Lv.3 Charged shot from Blue Rose, Snatch and then Taunted.
Nero did the taunt in which he draws the pistol and exactly when he said:"Bang" the charged shot exploded

It happened the same to me, with a Blitz. It was going to make that instakill atack but before that i shoot him and taunt. I shidded but damn that was cool to witness
I love how he swings Red Queen like it really is as heavy as it looks and yet he makes it look graceful in the same respect.
I don't think he has a hard time swinging it, I think it's the added power from exceed that gives it that feel.

I think that's because he is namturally right handed, and it's not so comfortable for him to use the sword with his left hand

According to the devs and game lore, Red Queen is an experimental prototype. Any other knights cannot use it or even wield it except for Nero.

I like how the way he has been animated implies that he's still quite inexperienced in melee combat, especially by how wide all of his attacks are and how they throw him off balance most of the time. Rookies tend to leave themselves open like that, which after all in terms of demon hunting it's what Nero is. I really hope we'll see him again in a future Devil May Cry...

Totally Not A Spy There are strong hints that he will be in the new DMC game.
Vlad the Impaler From what I heard he will reapear in DMC 5 alongside Dante. Johnny Yong Bosch reprised his role as Nero and Nero is supposed to finally meet with Vergil.
I think he actaully moves like that because his dominant hand is his right hand, I mean, the moveset of the Devil Bringer is way more refined, so...

the base combo is named calibur, but used with the ex gauge it's then named EX Calibur, like the sacred sword.

Something about the way the enemy responds to the taunts at times is hilarious.
They usual respond by attacking, but the Scarecrows on Bloody Palace Floor 1 never attack.

+SuperHothead14 Taunting in DMC4 affects enemy behavior as well. Enemies can go from normal to enraged to intimidated by taunting, similar to how some moves work in God Hand. The "shh" taunt for example makes them go back to normal.

This guy would fit so well in a MvC game.
Considering how well Dante and Vergil fit in UMVC3 it goes without saying he would do well, my only concern is if/how they would implement ex-act, rev or max-act.
Even Deadpool in Marvel vs Capcom 3 agrees that he wants Nero.

I really like Nero's devil trigger.Especialy since it looks alot like Vergil's DT and gives into the impresion that Vergil's soul lives through Nero. It would have been cool also to have him transform instead of creating a ghostly figure but it's something new and I like it.

3:33 -3:35 - change speed to 0.5 Take a look at his DT ghost. It is sheathing the sword into its arm's pocket. Just like Vergil's DT form. Cool fine details. Very cool of them to design Vergil's DT based on Nero's DT from 2008 to tie up the Father-and-Son connection like that. Vergil's DT is Nero's Guardian Spirit.

That's been a joke for a good long time :P and to be honest his jacket style and aloof yet quick to anger attitude really reminds me of Jotaro so I wouldn't be surprised if his design took some inspiration from JJBA.

I love Dante's gameplay, but I like Nero's grappling style more. Fun seeing him beat the living sh*t outta demons with his bare hands; definitely against those tough Blitz demons.

It actually does it has a gasoline injector wich has been specially customized with a motorcycle-like gear shift which, when pulled, sprays a flammable propellant across the blade and opponent, greatly increasing the power of its blows

ZeroDeroRero From what I've seen in the Gallery, the Red Queen was specifically designed for Nero.
Jimmy Acevedo yeah it was specificaly designed his version of the sword: the order of the sword all of them use that kind of weapon, only nero's has the motorcycle handle instead of the regular lever like everybody else
He does the dirty work for the order so i guess he has some "privileges" like having the decision of how he wants his weapon and the fact that he is the only one in the order wich uses a gun

I love how with the S taunt 4 they actually put sound to the air guitar.
Also, DT Ex shuffle and DT Ex Calibur are 2 of Nero's best attacks imo due to great crowd clearance and style/damage potential.

lol i so knew someone was going to evoke Jojo when i read the main comment (although i was kinda expecting no one did so i could afford myself the opportunity to do it), true Nero's DT looks pretty much like an awesome Stand from that point of view (...or a Susano if you prefer Naruto Shippuden), i realised it right before i started reading comments (btw i'm watching stardust crusaders currently, the firsts episodes, and everything before was great). But yeah it would've been great if we had what's in your link or something similar though.

Having played 5, I know how much Nero has improved with Red Queen
I just love his new DT and the design. His normal arm makes sense now. It's kinda like he "controlled" the deformation of his arm and his DT is like literally a full body devil bringer.
Combat sistem in this game are so complex and wide, i cant belive it can become old. Even now it feels and plays fantastic.

Another fun detail is the name of virgils other form nelo angelo. Because in japan L and R are interchangeable, so his name can actually be read as nero angelo in japanese

I love the dichotomy between Nero and his Devil Trigger. While both are brutal and deadly, Nero's is more style-based and unrefined, whereas the Trigger goes for the feel of experienced fighter, as if it wasn't just Nero that struck, but his heritage as well.
Someone's always innovating, so it makes sense the youngest gets the 'safest' yet fun toys to play with.
And as I've seen from other comments, Nero's a rookie and leaves himself open, while simultaneously his Trigger does quick, purposeful strikes that allow very few opening.

I think Nero's swordsmanship is a combination of Dante and Vergil's.
Dante's swordsmanship: Precise and heavy strikes.
Vergil's swordsmanship: Speed and Accuracy

Idk if you’ll see this because this reply’s kinda late but if anyone sees this it’s r1+forward (left stick) and triangle (you have to have a minimum of 1 metre thingy on his Rev and then u press L2 while he’s got his sword on his back)

Dropkicking someone in hack n slash games is surely fun xd. Do you need to gain "Speed" ability first to do Rainbow? Or i can do that without the Speed ability?
You must be Sprinting, yes, which takes a while to get into during combat.

Nero used Rainbow on Dante. He actually sprinted before performing the move. Nice attention to detail there.

I love Nero's skills/abilities/taunts voice lines in dmc4 so much, such as " hell yeah ", "get lost", etc and especially " ONE TWO CRAZY"
Sadly in dmc5 they didn't use those voice lines since he is matured and a little too serious
Bruh the ones introduced in DMC5 are awesome. "Tide's Turning/Place Your Bets"(Showdown and Maximum Bet) and "POWER... MY POWEEER"(DT Activation) are hype as hell and "Ridin' High" and "Yeehaw" are always freakin awesome.
The only ones i really wish were kebt are:"Hey! Hey! Hey!, Come On Babes!" and the iconic "SLAM DUNK".
