I disabled it completely from the accessibility settings/camera control.
it's just like touch bar on mac computer, which Apple finally cancelled so hopefully they do the same with iPhone camera control button

The control button was a fail and the same with ISO18, it's incomplete and rushed
Companies have 5 year plans so whatever one company will copy from the other was decided 5 years or decade ago.
Xperia phone shows why you don't need to overengineer a button. Just a simple hold to lock focus and press to capture is more than enough for a camera control. Besides even photographers change their settings with dials available on camera which on a smartphone is already controlled on screen. Sometimes pushing too much can be a detriment.
Samsung will not copy the camera control button. But Chinese phone manufacturers will. They copied the dynamic island, the three camera array at the back, the Apple Watch and Ultra (even the button placements).
Stop shaming Chinese companies. They first introduced the dynamic island idea (Honor), the three cameras as well (Huawei). They've been the innovative side so far. Apple never really introduces things first like the majority of their consumers believe. They believe it doesn't exist or it isn't important if it's not an Apple feature.
Samsung is the shameless members of the room not chinese manufacturers. They have already copied apple to remove charger, headphones, SD card and what not. Even the the latest version of One UI would be fully inspired by Apple...Samsung is copying dynamic island,navigation bar,notification slider,even the apps would be lool alike to IOS in one ui 7.0... DONT compare chinese manufacturers to Scamsung you fool, they are way more innovative than Scamsung.
Honor was the manufacturer who introduced the dynamic island not apple
If you're sick you can have dynamic island on your Samsung by simply installing an app from play store. I had it for one day on my Samsung and I un-installed it after one day. It is useless because of its placement on top of the display, you must have hands like a basketball player to reach it😅

I refunded my 16 pro max. The camera button was a deal breaker for me. It was always in the way and I kept pressing it on accident. Even if the annoying camera button wasn't there, it's not a worthy upgrade from a 14 or 15 pro max.
I wonder Apple will come up with an update where you can turn off that dedicated button, as in fully deactivate/disable that button.

i hear you about not liking the camera button but that's what i'm most interested in. you can use it to snap a picture even when phone is locked right? currently it takes me like 2 seconds to do that and i'm hoping a dedicated button would make it much faster, so i don't lose the moment i was trying to photograph. you don't find this shortcut useful?
if you're using iPhone, turn on double tap back to open camera, if on samsung or google it's double tap power button by default or back tap if turned on
You could already do that before with the action button, the camera button was just unnecessary

I don't think the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the best, I think it's the worst iPhone ever with rubbish cameras. At night it's very noisy, even with 30MP it doesn't have good quality. You can see it. Ultrawide has saturated colors and a lot of noise. The zoom lens and main camera are also the worst.
SAMSUNG don't need to copy this because they already have the best feature ever... the S Pen

I'm on my first iPhone ever (16 Plus) and I just can't believe how boring it is. Airdrop, iMessage and video recording are great and all, but everything else is just so basic compared to what the Galaxy S series offers. iPhone people have no idea what they're missing. Can't wait to go back once the S25 drops.
I switched from a samsung s10+ to an iPhone 16 and I can't seem to tell much difference between the both platforms. There are some differences here and there but when it comes to features they are pretty much the same.

@@Siri_Duffa yeah but goodlock isn't really anything special. It just adds more option to the existing UI features. Like adding more clock font option n stuff and being able to color a keyboard or volume bar isn't really sth valuable to me.
No doubt Samsung is much much more customizable, but most of those customisation are very niche and not well implemented.
