Yep same age but I had my kids starting at 27. I'm still raising the kids by myself. As a woman, I enjoyed watching this video regarding the double-standard content. I was having a double standard in my relationship in the past where it was ok for me to talk with male friends (who I didn’t want anything with), but I had a problem if my boyfriend talked with female friends. He has stopped doing this and asked me to do the same, and I have stopped. Sometimes it’s hard because I am a very friendly person, but I have to respect his and my boundaries too because sometimes when we talk deeply with someone of the opposite sex it turns out that they can have feelings towards us (or feelings could potentially develop). So thank you for pointing out that what’s fair is fair. I think having a friendly conversation with someone in passing is fine (like a teller at a grocery store), but it becomes an issue if we start going to that store specifically to see that person, etc. As a Christian, I believe that God warns us to stay away from temptation because it can be the devil’s snare to destroy all that’s beautiful in our lives.
Also, as a Christian, I believe that God wants us to wait for intimacy until marriage. I have not always done this in the past, but this is something I firmly believe now. I believe that we should wait for that one person in Christ who we are going to be committed to for the rest of our lives. However, once married, God said that we are not to deny each other intimacy and especially not as a way to control the other person. We are supposed to be open to each other and love one another. (Unless of course someone is sick or something, or if the woman is menstruating and isn’t feeling well or gave birth and needs like 6-8 weeks to heal. This is totally natural. I’m sure there are days when a man might feel sick too or healing from something)
I think a healthy relationship is intimacy on many levels - respect, helping each other, having fun together, giving each other space at times, enjoying family and friends together, following the Lord together, and being intimate together (but not like in an abusive way). I think if couple’s are following God’s Word, it wouldn’t become abusive. [And what I mean by abusive is, for example, a spouse has an alcohol problem and comes home and is really rough demanding things, etc. In those cases, it would feel like abuse because the partner isn’t considering the other person at all and is just using that person as an object.]

Im a man and i was verbaly abusive in relationships...in my mind i was being assertive and not taking nonsense from a woman..i would block them for a week or just tell them all their worst character fault and worthlesnes..then God started teaching me about abuse and after a full year i started to realise what hes teaching me and how i should handle bad news..i realy did not understand what i was doing to woman ..i was imature..and so also woman can have certain imature actions like insisting on male friends which is a very very bad thing for a relationship.
