I understand a lot of this, however, to say that elementary students are responsible for knowing their own bus stops and be able to tell the driver that is ridiculous
As somebody who runs a student routing department at a bigger district, it surprises me how little people know about student transportation. The school district is telling you they have 400+ less drivers after 4+ years and had to bring in a consultant to re-arrange the routes to do magic. At the same time, they have historically offered transportation to everybody to every school and running depot stops. It's not sustainable. The other issue is that you can't tell parents that they can no longer transport students to every school they desire because parents will get upset since they "are taxpayers". Dr. Pollio has zero blame for these problems that are affecting every school district. I guarantee you every solution involves cancelling eligibility of students to match the workforce. Parents affected will complain to the school board. No other viable solution if you can't find drivers or a workforce.
Less than 4 minutes in and he blames children, literal children, for why they didn’t arrive home. Then he immediately blames the parents for not being at the (potentially wrong) stops for said children… The parents and children have to trust that the drivers know where to stop, the parents and children do not train the drivers. This is a failure of the government, specifically the school system in charge of transportation. None of the burden should be on the parents, and absolutely none of it is on the children. Edit: at 7:50 He explicitly doesn’t blame the company AlphaRoute. I’m sure some articles on this state routes go from one side of town to the other. If true, absolutely ridiculous.
Honestly, even if breaking up JCPS was the best idea, it might not be feasible. The school district has likely become too big, bloated if you will, to afford breaking it up.
One word: CLUSTER. That describes the whole school district. You had the WHOLE SUMMER to figure this out and school shouldn't have even started if there was apprehension . Head of transportation needs to be replaced. If you can't get the students to school, how in the WORLD will these parents TRUST you to TEACH their kids?? JCPS is too big of a school system, clearly. I was a JCPS student in high school and they were bussing us all over the city then, 23 years ago. Ridiculous. Not acceptable. This guy needs to be fired immediately. His job was to make sure transportation was ready. You couldn't pay me enough to teach for JCPS.

Why wasn’t parent listened to before school started when they tried to contact school(s) and or the compound etc?
So he will listen to certain complaints but not parents?
He told a lie less than 2 minutes in 😂
Were school bus told that they are replaceable?
So are they going to start tracking kids… and sale their information as to where they live to a third party company?
So why was this year different than any other year?
And how?
Making over $300,000 vs. making $22 an hours… and placing blame … on kids and parents
Why did this video stop while typing?
