I agree, listening to their records I didn't think it would translate well to live performance but it sounds even better to me. Gives it a different feel.

Josh is so cute. What a sweet soul with a sweet voice. Please have them back ASAP, most loveable band ever. Just saw them in Chicago, was so fun.
This band is so underrated and always have been. I hate that pitchfork gives all their albums shit reviews.
Yea Pitchfork pisses me off with most their reviews. STRFKR deserves much more praise. I hate how they grade albums. They'll give an album a 7.9. Why can't they just give the extra 0.1 to make it a 8 lol That is fucking weak
Or they'll give an album a 3.7 just to go against the grain. Or they'll give some terrible mainstream autotune-pop album a 9. They're all over the place. They used to be shit, but now they're REALLY shit.

I don't get it either. Sigur Ros, Grandaddy and Mew were treated the same. It seems to be this "undefinable soundscape" style of music, pitchfork is just deaf to.

This was so good. I am in sore need of a STRFKR concert. They are definitely my favorite band.
They played so many amazing house shows in Portland when I was in my 20s. Best time of my life.

@@jamesheine2955 oh i know. i was a teen in the 90s. nirvana was my first band i really fell in love with at the age of 13 . also loved sound garden and pearl jam . I grew up on the "seattle sound"
@@kittervision I like those bands too. Soundgarden was going to play at a multi-band concert in my home city but Chris hung himself at Detroit, the previous show. Soundgarden broke up, they placed a mic stand with a leather jacket draped over it onstage as a memorial. 😥 PJ is still around. They just released a new CD last week, saying it's their 'best yet'. Of course that's an EZ thing to say. Anyone can say that. But I heard it and bought a copy and ya know, that just might be TRUE. I mean it, it's really that GOOD. Check it out, you might like it. I do! 👋

I've been watching these KEXP videos for years. Can we appreciate how great the mixdowns are? As good as or better than the album for every band featured.

I can’t understand how they can and have always been this great. They’re like a mythical creature.
I've seen this band three times, this live studio performance doesn't do them justice, though they sound good here. If you have even a casual interest in them and are able to, go see a show. It's a party. Plus, the guys couldn't be nicer.

I only first heard songs from this group (including yayaya) via Pandora in like 2019, thought I'd "discovered" them, shared the songs with some of my younger co-workers and friends, my son in college. He has only a few friends into EDM kinda music (he's more into rap himself, totally not my thing) I like the yayaya song, others they've done like that.

This band is amazing live! Put it this way, the show started out tame but ended up with astronauts, women in nude body suits and a giant unicorn inflatable.
I honestly think I like "Filler" better than "when I'm with you"
